@@ArmoredChocoboLPs Everyone in the cast, I think, is second best to the original Broadway cast. One of the puppeteers, Jason Jacoby (Nicky and Trekkie) actually performed those characters in the off-Broadway production at New World Stages until it closed in 2019.
I still remember listening to this song for the first time in high school and the utter heartbreak at the end. Such a brilliantly written emotional song and so unexpected. And these two sound amazing together!
I remember listening to this song in high school and feeling sad for Rod. Then in college I fell for a female friend and felt sympathy for Rod. Straight crushes suck :(
Researched video and I always thought Kate and Princeton were somehow in rods dream, but it makes more sense that the two are separate, Thanks for clearing that up
FranBMan Finally a Rod without an annoying voice, I like Johnny but his Rod just got way too flamboyant for me, Perry Sherman hit it out of the park and Jason Jacoby as Nicky? Spot on!
That is true, Rod is supposedly a gay version of Bert as this is a Sesame Street parody and when you look at the people who've portrayed him they've all used a nasally voice, so yeah Perry could've been a bit more nasal and over-the-top but this is just a different interpretation and honestly I think it's fine for Rod (I mean he still sounds flamboyantly gay but not in an annoying way) and you gotta hand it to the puppeteer for having such a great singing voice. It's okay if you prefer the original, but it's nice to see other actors put their own spin on a character.
I don't like this version of Rod at all. There is no definition between him and Princeton vocally. And whereas some normality in Avenue Q gives it it's grounding, there is little to no wackiness here at all. Rod is too boring and plain. This should the part where all of his compressed emotions explode but his counterpoint with Kate is far too normal.
This Rod is quite plain, I've thought that since I first found this a couple years ago. One of Rod's recognizable points is his nasally, uptight voice. This one is just so... not Rod.
Oh... Nicholas...

Wow, I have to say that guy playing Rod is one of the best people I've seen perform that part, he really puts his stamp on it.
I say this is the 2nd best Rod, compared to the Broadway/album originial

I agree, definitely one of the best performances
me: well im not about to get emo about puppets
also me: [watches a performance of fantasies come true, gets emo about puppets]
the duet tho, her voice harmonizing with his makes me absolutely loose it
I can’t believe I’m bawling my eyes out over funny colored puppets
Me : I’m not gonna cry over a gay puppet
Me currently: sitting in the corner of a mall charging my phone crying over a gay puppet
I watch this and I can't help myself continually saying, oh rod. oh honey. oh honey no
When I was in the theater at the end of this song some bitch was cutting onions in the theater
Why do I feel bad for a puppet?
Poor poor Rod.
I love the dancing part, especially when Nicky signaled for Rod to come over with his finger :)
I CRIED AT THE END OF THIS SONG

the duet is magical
"i..love you rod" SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH!
i loved that then the end made me sad poor poor rod
With all the people wanting a gay Disney princess, well here’s a suggestion: the two gay puppets as Disney princesses in their own movie
I absolutely love how when Rob is dreaming about Nicky he's dreaming about dancing around and being cheesy
omg, i just saw the video where Rod comes out of the closet and now this.... i want to cry
okay but the singers??? they are so in character i love them
I remember listening to this song in high school and feeling sad for Rod. Then in college I fell for a female friend and felt sympathy for Rod. Straight crushes suck :(
I wish they turned this into a Rv show. I want to watch this but the full performances on RUclips are terrible quality or not the real cast
*tv
An rv show? XD
It wasn’t 3 years ago
This made me cry! Anyone else?
Poor Rod
Such a sweet song
I felt so bad for Rod here, my heart broke just a little.
I ship it XD
Me: Even puppets have a better love life than me....
Okay, so the number was really a dream? or did Kate and Princeton really sing as well
Kate and Princeton was real, Rod was dreaming.
Researched video and I always thought Kate and Princeton were somehow in rods dream, but it makes more sense that the two are separate, Thanks for clearing that up

I know! They definitely were meant to play as the characters. I'm glad someone else agrees.

I saw this with my parents... that part was awkward... ANYWAY during this part I inhaled a bubble:/ I’m still fangirling to this day over a bubble
Is that woman doing his voice. It sounds so masculine or am I missing something
The women isn’t doing the voice, the voice for rod is also his voice

Rod is trying to hide the fact that he's a homosexual, so he needs to sound.Atleast a little flamboyant, I agree but still sound somewhat normal
same here!
In the first 30 seconds I’m already like”WaIt... (͠≖ ͜ʖ͠≖)!”
*I just want Nicky and Rod tO FUCKING KISS*
aww rod. you have ricky though.
basically a buffer version of Nicky
A girl plays Princeton
Fnaf Sin I thought that too but the guy that plays rod also voices Princeton so it’s just someone else
