I cover a prevalent scam revolving around dating apps in Hanoi. In short, dating apps are useless in Hanoi Vietnam as 80% of the girls are there to waste your time and money. Hanoi girls suck, sorry. Saigon all day, everyday.
The scam is simple, they want to meet you in the tourist area of Hanoi and then take you to clubs that will charge you hundreds of dollars for drinks. The girls won't pay attention to you and even be good company. Once they order their food or drinks, they leave to get the next guy. So you're there alone there with a bottle of champaign or a table full of food
They get a commission and you get a bad time.

For the lazy who don't watch the video, I was based out of Vietnam for 3 years and I love this country, my favorite so far. Hanoi is quite lovely and the people there are nice, but dating apps in Hanoi you have to be careful. Dude, I was in HCM and still, the tactics of either "I come to your hotel and let's have sxx", or "come meet me at club, let's drink alcohol", or "let's eat dinner". I fell for the 3rd one but I also felt like it was kinda subtle scam because I told her you just order whatever you want because I dont know Vietnamese, and the bill came about 500,000 vnd which was kinda ok with 7-8 dishes. But, the rest 2 tricks, I didn't fall at all. I would probably go to Ha Noi for next trip cuz I really love VN and its coffee Bac Xiu.
Thailand is not the LOS but Vietnam is! Land of SCAMS!
I was there in May. I got all this bs from the Tinder girls too. I ended up doing the same thing as you and tried to get two of them to meet each other in front of the same restaurant. Scam the scammers :)
This is so accurate, I’m in Hanoi now, basically every person on tinder ( 20 - 25) trying go get me to the French quarter lol. I’d have been wise enough anyway ( I hope ) but take heed of this video, he’s 100 percent correct

Haha, the same thing happen to me. After I paid for the overpriced dinner, she still ask me to follow her to a club to drink like I wasn't aware I just got scammed.
I'm in Hanoi and I just got scammed. Met her on Tinder. She wasn't that pretty and talked for a week so I thought it was legit. We went to an outdoor restaurant, the same area you showed. After eating, she asked to walk around and then go to a club afterwards. I refused to go to the club and she was visibly irritated and left. Later I realized the restaurant charged my card over 4 million VND. I learned my lesson. Fuck dating apps.
No, fuck Hanoi. Not bragging, but I'm a decent looking guy and do quite well on dating apps. I've never had this issue anywhere.

Only Hanoi. I love Hanoi, but don't bother using dating apps and like anywhere else, meet for something casual like coffee. If they don't want to meet for this, then you spared yourself from investing time, emotions and money.
The lady never will fall in love with you. Will fall in love with your wallet.
Normal Vietnamese girl will want you to pick the place and what what you will be doing together. If they really want to meet you, they will want you to lead. Even if you do not know the area.
This happend to me last week. But luckily the waiter wanted me to pay first. So i saw the the invoice which was over 12 million 😂 i laughed at here and went straight out of the club.

The same scam has happened to me in Saigon. I met a girl on tinder and she told me to meet up in a bar for a date and gave me the address so I went there and then she met me and took me to a bar called "diamond bar" inside the alleyway. It's more like a counter bar and she told me to order some drinks, fruit and laughing gas balloons. Eventually, I realised that it's some kind of a scam and she was trying to make me buy more so I said no and the bill was 1751000 vnd. How do I report this scam?

Obviously its the vietnamese experience. Prostitutes are very common throughout Asia and i bet their cheaper than the scams they just went through. Most women are trying to get free food or money out of men . If men weren't trying to get yall , yall would complain about that to. Just marry your girlfriends and mòve to a secluded island. 😂

Now i feel like I got scammed into watching a video so I could then be redirected to your website (which probably generates some ad revenue, i use ublock origin so i don't know). I have been to Vietnam and loved it. I don't have a need for dating apps but i appreciate you trying to help other people out. Think with your brain not with your head.
