Uploading code to GitHub offers numerous benefits, from version control and collaboration to project management and showcasing your work.
Whether you're working on a personal project, collaborating with a team, or contributing to open source, GitHub provides the tools and platform to manage your code effectively and efficiently.
GitHub keeps a detailed history of all changes made to your code. This allows you to track what changes were made, who made them, and when.
You can create branches to work on new features or bug fixes independently from the main codebase, then merge them back once they're ready.
GitHub serves as a backup for your code, protecting it from local hardware failures.
🔶STEPS🔶
To upload any code to GitHub,
1. Open GitHub.com in your computer web browser.
2. Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the screen and select "Your repositories."
3. Click on the New green button to create a new project to upload your code.
4. Now, enter your project name, and short description, select your code visibility, and click on the box to add a README file.
5. Scroll down to the bottom and click "Create repository."
6. To upload code to the repository, click on "Add file" and select "Upload files."
7. Now, upload your code files or folder.
8. Once uploaded, scroll down to the bottom and click on "Commit changes."
Your code and project files and folders are successfully uploaded to the GitHub repository. You can now view, edit, and share them with others.
