I am so glad, you brought this up. I totally agree with you. I have never come across anyone except you, who talks about these things. This is so critical! I exactly try to focus on these points & follow to the best of my ability while attempting a song. The correct amount of stress/weightage, on the letters/words, the tone, texture, the rhythm, duration etc is so important. Thank you so much for making this video! Would like to know your take on the tone, texture, throw/volume while playing songs in your upcoming videos if possible.
Thank you Sharvari jee ! These points are actually very important but are often not discussed. I will definitely try to include your suggestions in my upcoming videos. My sincere thanks again ❤️😊👍
You explained it in very simple and understandable terms with the right amount of repetition of key points along the way, CK! All these come so naturally to me that I don't even think about it so much. But I do write down the lyrics and chords of the whole song as the very 1st step in my process for any song I do.I found many Harmonica players play the same notes in the same way for 2 different stanzas of a song. Whereas, I try to sing the lyrics of each stanza with my Harmonica or Keyboard. Though note are same, like you pointed out the length of those notes varies in each stanza based on the lyrics. For your 2nd point about following the beat, I noticed some players struggle to adhere to the beat consistently throughout the song. I like the way you explained how a beat may not always align with the first note of a line. That's a good way to think about it. If you elongate a note that is supposed to be short, the alignment is disturbed from that point forward. Very good lesson indeed, CK! Keep them coming. God bless you.
Thank you for good demo and explanation. I am new self learner. My saerch for how to play a song took me to fundamenals i.e bits tal and Loy. If I am not wrong this song is on DADARA or EKTAL, medium loy. You also explained notes on Beats and off- beats in simple way. If we write down notation correctly with tal bibhag, bit and corresponding lyric I feel it will be easy to comprehend and it will be starting from the fundamentals of music. I guess composer puts the lyric and notes in this way for singer with my little knowledge. Pl. correct me if I am wrong. Again thanks for good learning vedio.
Thanks for watching and a detailed analysis. Yes, the song is in Dadra taal which is in 6 Matra or 6 beats. It closely resembles a western waltz rhythm. I have tried to keep it simple for people who have zero knowledge of music theory. Thanks for watching and your positive comments 🙏.
Sir watched your video... very nicely explained... In fact never saw any Indian players video with this much details... Its like an eye opener... you have given a new angle to hear the songs... kindly keep this nice work on... thanks ... hope to learn a lot.
