I have a big box, a 550TT, and this nano. The nano sounds great, and it's good to finally have the DMM in a small pedal. You're a great player John. I want to pick up my guitar whenever I hear you play.
I love that they made this, but the noise on it and the clipping was crazy. I own a Big Box and the 1100 tap tempo and I have white noise and it'll clip, but not as bad as in this demo. Love John and glad he did this run through.
As an owner of the Nano, and previous owner of a big box, I can say the pedal doesn't clip like in this demo if you get your levels right. Not sure what happened here, but I find it actually cleaner than the old version, with more headroom. On the Nano, I keep the level around 10 o' clock in my setup (in the FX loop of my amp).
Love all the digital content from you guys and other guitar publications.. my wish tho which I know it unrealistic in this digital world, but speaking of analog I wish your mag and all the other mags were as good as they used to be. it’s unreal how thin and what a short read all the mags are nowadays. Premier used to be fat what happened?
Earthquake space spiral offers a similar delay... if you're after DMM copy in terms of tone and flavour well....this nano is what gets you closer. Space spiral is actually more tweakable and lets you tail very nice (and weird) sounds. Evilish. 6 knobs as well, 3 for delay settings and 3 for modulation options (just like this nano). If DMM is Mario, space spiral is Wario.
@@Acujeremy Pretty sure you can find used space spiral pedals on reverb/eBay....it's half digital and half analog, you are right....but the feeling is to tweak a full analog pedal. Give it a go! Another option (but we are getting a little far from DMM) could be Vapor Trail by Seymour Duncan . I've been "roaming" long time for delays with tweakable modulation...
Kind of frustrating when people still use tremolo and vibrato interchangeably as if they mean the same thing. I know guitar companies are guilty for this - mixing up the terms on their products.
I love the sounds EHX pedals make, unfortunately all of their pedals I had died inside 6-8 months of purchase, and I take good care of my pedals so..i look elsewhere
Really I have some that have been in snow rain .. humidity of NY then cold as Satan's goat kackles... But seriously they are still going strong not one issue even several from 81,83 ..

John Bohlinger transition to Jim Jarmusch is almost complete.

Finally!
Still have my full size DMM but have never put it on my gigging board because of the separate power supply and of course it's size.
Great demo John, good to see you rockin' and hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Good review. I love the ending "Psych Freak Out". Splendid. Makes me wish I still had a bong. 😁
I've had a few of memory mans over the years, I've kept the Memory Toy on my board though!
Memory Toy is legit
I love the ‘spacey reverb’ section; I’m hearing ’70s Richard Thompson or John Martyr playing a ballad there
Great Demo as usual John , I have the old big shoe box MM, the size has always turned me off , this is perfect 👍
Getting one this Friday hope it sound good as I hope
Electro Harmonix ought to pay you for that demo.
That's exactly what I need a pedal to work myself out of a job with 😎👍
I have the 1970 s one still do now I got the new one comeing in it sound like a good one even better hope it get here soon 😎
OOF that tone at 4:28 YES
thanks john great demo
Best pedal I've ever bought
1:38. That's what she said! 😆
Hahahaha brilliant
Damn those walls look good.
it has proprietary power? so it isn't compatible with regular power supplies?
Great !
Is this what EVH used on that song 316 ?

Premier used to be fat what happened?
It overloading too much in amp ‘s loop circle,I don’t really into that fizzy sound, but its clean delay tone is killer.what a pity ,any good advice?😂
Nice to see a 70 year old enjoying his reviews
I want to hear more daley
Is there a way to get the pedal very quiet so all the noise is gone? If not, is there another pedal to use instead of similar quality?
Memory Toy perhaps! 😊👍

@@tomz1989 It looks like it is no longer in production and my interest being in analog pedals and I believe the Space Spiral is digital, but thanks!

@@tomz1989 Interesting approach to make it all about tweaking modulation. Very cool!
DOD Rubberneck is a superior copy and does so much more for cheap
is this johns living room or a PG set lol
I’ve Heard this peddle is very noisy, from other reviews, shame cos I really like the bigger ones there great as we all know
The second I see that a demo is done by John Bohlinger, I close the window.... good player... proves over and over he doesn't have a CLUE about gear.
Kind of frustrating when people still use tremolo and vibrato interchangeably as if they mean the same thing. I know guitar companies are guilty for this - mixing up the terms on their products.
all it needs is Tap
Awesome. Now make it programmable and it'll be the perfect delay.

You're a liar

This is true. EHX has terrible quality control.
I've got like 6 of them since 2004, none of them failed.
He ruined this by playing a Gibson
Save money maybe get the Memory toy?
Maybe xvive delay it even has a mn3005
Memory Toy is no where near as good as the deluxe memory man, including the nano. I've had both.
How many of your bands songs do you use delay in ...NONE
Every single one.
dont like it to much going on with it, guess it would help a sloppy guitar player
