May 1, 2022 - Drummer Rick Parnell passed away in Missoula, MT - Famous for Spinal Tap, he is truly one of the greatest drummers ever - Just listen to Marshall Dillon - no one better. And one of the finest musicians and human beings you could imagine.
All musicians of the golden era 60s,70s and of course the 80s ❤️ them all they were / are extra ordinary ,,,,,👍 great Rip for those who left earth and Hail the ones who still reside on earth
Many thanks for this precious brother. This album, back to 84, just change all my music perception and deploy massively my love for bass environments. All the best for you and all the the ones who lives in your heart. 🙏🫂
Thank you very much for this. I had the vinyl version, from when it came out but time sometimes changes ownerships of things in our lives :-) I cannot find it on Spotify so was very happy to find out here! Thank you.

I picked this up accidentally as a kid at an auction. I think I paid for a stack of albums for $3. I wore this out. I was a rock n roll guy but this touched me. The drummer. Wow. I still listen on RUclips on occasion. I still have the album.
Found this album in a record shop in Cornwall in 1984, think it was about £2, never heard of them before, but when I played the album it absolutely blew my mind , what a band, injustice obviously done in the music world.....this band stood up there with the greatest rock/fusion bands ever!!
I still have my vinyl, bought it on a whim around '79 in at a record store in Pasadena California. I played bass and I thought this has to have something good on it because the radio wasn't playing it!
Great to find Nova on here! Saw them at the Coventry Theatre in 1976 supporting the Steve Hillage Band. Superb concert, came away with fond memories, got copies of Vimana and Wings of Love soon after.

I was fortunate to get hang out with these guys when they played a concert at Colorado State University in the late 70s. I was a music major (sax) and it was too cool for me!
Back in ‘77 I was 17 - walking through our local town & a guy dressed a little like Hare Krishna just handed it to me - there were a few of them just handing out stuff free to folks - one of the best albums to ever find it’s way to me - sadly lost it many years later in a house flood - just been waiting to find it on CD or itunes - but then I find myself here & so grateful that you have shared this with us - All good things to you x
Just this morning after loving this album nearly 40 years and moving around the world 3-4 times and 3 times losing all my household effects including music collections this album on vinyl is the only album I have left from all my old stuff. I actually found it again this morning as I was fixing an Aircon on top of the wardrobe was this album!!! Love it!
Thanks and I finally remember now which band the guitarist on the later Narada Michael Walden albums played with. I had this on vinyl almost 40 years ago. 🙏
Bought this album around 1979 at "Sounds" on St. Marks Place. NYC for $1.00. Still have it. It's on CD also, out there somewhere if you look hard. Cheers
2 more nova lp’s to listen to. 😔sax player in parts where it is melodic with the softer sax sounds kind of reminds me of gato barbieri or ernie watts. 😳😳 😳
BLOWING HILLAGE OFF THE STAGE WAS NO SMALL FEAT AS HILLAGE COULD BURN THE FRETS BETTER THAN MOST BUT RUSTICI BEING MORE OF A FUSION PLAYER TOTALLY COULD OUT-PERFORM HILLAGE'S TYPICAL PENTATONIC AND DIATONIC SCALE USE. RUSTICI WAS ALSO A SPIRITUALLY-DRIVEN PLAYER WHEREAS HILLAGE'S NEW-AGE SLANT-DRIVEN PIECES JUST WEREN'T AS FULL OF SOUL-FIRE LIKE JOHN MCLAUGHLIN PLAYED WITH. MCLAUGHLIN AND RUSTICI WERE BOTH INTO THAT SRI CHINMOY GESTALT -- TOTALLY BOGUS MINDSET IN THE DEEPEST ESSENCE -- BUT IT ALLOWED A DEEP MENTAL FOCUS ON THE MUSIC BEING MORE THAN MUSIC -- SUPPOSEDLY BEING A TRANSCENDENT TOOL TO HIGHER CONSCIOUSNESS. ruclips.net/user/JazzRockFusionSynthesizerMusic
Thanks for posting this. I only knew of one album by them. Apparently the 2nd one, named Vimana, and I have know that one since the 70s. I just learned today that they did 4 albums. edit --- ..... and I have KNOWN that one since the 70s. (edit function is apparently working for me right now, 3 yrs later)
Vimana was my first introduction to Nova. That title track - it’s amazing - I’d never heard anything like it before. Bought it in ‘76. Wings of Love a year later. I have them both on CD too.

Nova wings of love is pure heaven.
Itd be so good if someone rereleased this album to share this joy properly with this planet and to hopefully get some more royalties to the writers.
