Thunder storms send shoaling fish into a crazy frenzy it's the lightning that does it, use to see mackerel and bass going crazy coming in from deep sea during storms.
Great session Cal. Just proves that just because a spot isn't producing, you don't always need to move a long way to find the fish. You proved that moving just a few feet to target a different spot can turn a possible blank into an amazing session.
I had exactly the same that same day, I was right round to your right. I had a crazy 40 minutes every cast or every other cast fish on. Keep up the videos mate awesome 👍🏻
Fantastic session Cal well done! Definitely something about fishing after a storm. Same happened to me last November after a heavy thunderstorm and I though the same. Was the best session of the trip.
Fabulous fishing Cal Looking forward to getting down to Tralee bay Co Kerry Next week to fish for Bass Have a few old Sammies so hopefully they will get me a few shiners!!👍
Cal excellent session and channel just a couple of points and I know it was hectic but you shook some fish if with pliers letting them drop onto rocks and still using barbed trebles ,apart from that all good bud
Agreed. Apologies, we just picked up on that. Channel Islands were registered under Europe. We have now included tracked shipping at 5 pounds from today and free on orders over 70 pounds
I've been wearing Guy Cotton boots for a while now. I bought them purely for the comfort, they’re nice and soft and very comfortable to wear. The grip is pretty good too.
Mental! Right place right time get on 😀 Cal why don't you get a net for fishing Rock marks like that? Keep adding comments sorry! Barometric pressure makes a massive difference to the fishing especially big rises or drops in pressure quickly. I'm trying to keep a regular eye on it.
Yeah there’s definitely evidence in fish activity before, during and after a change in barometric pressure etc. I don’t carry a net because I hate having to carry too many things. There are times I could do with one but I like to travel as light as possible. A small lure bag and my rod is all I take 👍🏼
Do you live in Cornwall - looking for a club or enthusiastic group I can contact when I come to Cornwall next year for a 3 - 4 month fishing Holiday . Cheers Tim - Australia ( Crazy Fisherman )
Anywhere you catch bass, you'll be in with the chance of catching one up to double figures. It will depend on how you go about it, maybe try at night, in rough weather, soft plastic lures, slower retrieves etc etc.. Truth is, you can target bigger bass at certain venues but really, you never know what kind of stamp of fish will be there until you catch them. Finding bigger bass is difficult, because there are less of them around. What i will say though, this time of year is a brilliant time for finding the bigger ones.
@@FISHINGWITHCAL haha I messaged Grant and asked him for advice as well seeing as he was catching absolute monsters, didn’t realise he was is Portugal🤣🤣really nice that you guys reply to people, keep up the good work.

There you go mate, they’ve sorted it 👍🏼 Thanks for watching the video 😀
Amazing! Loving this!
Random question , What wellie boots do you use? Are they comfortable? I'm after some for my winter fishing trips.
I've been wearing Guy Cotton boots for a while now. I bought them purely for the comfort, they’re nice and soft and very comfortable to wear. The grip is pretty good too.
@@FISHINGWITHCAL many thanks indeed

Caught my biggest ever rocky from that bay around 6lbs went like a train
There’s been some big bass caught in that bay
👏👏👍👍🎣🎣
Nice fish , But ive heard before if they are bleeding then waste time put them back as wont survive is this true or ?
It all depends on how badly they’re bleeding and where from. I'm sure some would survive, but for how long?
Cal can I have a link to the lure @ 16:47 please
Are these bass good eating?
Yeah bass are great eating and easy to prepare 👍🏼
Hey mate how many gram is that old shad ?
It’s 25g. I have them in 15g to 35g for my lighter rod. The 25g and 30g are the ones I use the most.
Thanks dude keep doing amazing videos 👏

Where would you suggest to go from the shore to attempt double figures it’s a lifetime achievement of mine
