Its great to see you back! I like that GW has their furniture on sale like that, I liked that beat up coffee table, it had great style. Its always fun to shop around with you, that huge flea market is my favorite wonderland. HAPPY 🆕 YEAR 🎆🎇 I just saw the most fabulous wicker basket, really different shape, I would of grabbed that! Furniture only? I LOVE it! I don't mind spending more in charity shops, because they put the money towards those in need. And there is plenty that is almost being given away!

I was so surprised to learn from you that GW had dedicated furniture stores. I have never seen that. Here in Jacksonville Fl there are a lot of GWs but they can be 20 miles apart. And they all carry general merchandise. When I lived in NC the prices there were half of the prices there. However I learn so much from people like you. Thanks, Kay

Goodwills in Wisconsin vary in prices and they don't discount furniture unfortunately. We have some other thrift stores that are cheaper. It's fun to see what's available on the west coast! Thanks for letting us shop with you!

Amazing furniture! I have never seen such a clean thrift store. And the prices are surprisingly low!
I just watched a vlog by a Japanese woman who was shopping at a flea market in Paris. She absolutely loves baskets! I think that you, Thrilled Thrifter, and Bored or Bananas are on to something 👍🏻. Baskets are the new universal language 😂🥰!

Those goodwill prices are amazing. The trend on pricing is also determined by the area. That green couch first shown would be $300 at my local goodwills. Maybe higher. When goodwill prices items more than buying new it's hard to convince people to reuse and recycle.
So true. That's exactly why I wanted to compare GW to other thrift stores. All of the GW's in my area even price completely differently from each other. Have you taken a peek this week to see if yours are pricing down? I would love hear about your 2021 GW prices and what area you live in. I looked this week and it seems goodwill is pricing higher in 2021. I saw a console table for $49.99 that would have been 29.99 4 months ago at the same goodwill. Pricing on smalls, baskets, dishes has not risen but furniture is much much higher. There is a nationwide furniture shortage and long waits for new stock so maybe goodwill has noticed and has responded to greater demand and low inventory with higher prices. Such a shame.

I have been doing thrifting, yard sales, and auctions for 50 years. So much more fun and unique styles of decor than anything in big box stores...better quality too.

@@LazyDIY-THRIFT I came from big family...nobody got rid of anything before first checking with each family member to see if was something any family member could use. We senior members even "recycled cars" to our teen nieces and nephews who had just turned driving age, so they had wheels for jobs. We gave tvs, furniyure, bedding etc. for newlyweds first apartments...even donations of floering plants and shrubs for first home landscaping. It saved money, helped each other and no one was offended if something wasnt wanted. It was just being a caring, helping family.

Your furniture selection in the Goodwills are amazing. The good/unique pieces are in and out in a few days, so you need to check them out a couple times a week. Always an adventure! Stay well and safe 😁

OMG! That one store had fantastic deals on their furniture! It was unreal!!! My thrift store does not have much furniture but it is sooo high and they don’t mark furniture it just sits there! Glad you are getting out more just be careful!!

So your prices are way better than here in Lake County there is almost Nothing available under 10$ in the jewelry and furniture is in the store for about 10 minutes or so it seems and very pricey so I really enjoyed seeing your adventures and your prices and as usual color me Green

Welcome back! I missed you! Hope your holidays were fabulous! Great video! Wish we had furniture only stores nearby. I just checked and we don’t and only one bins store but 40 min drive. I don’t go to Goodwill that often. I have three small town thrifts close by that have much better prices.

I couldn't believe that antique dressing mirror was already sold! I have been looking for one too. Hopefully they will have lots more great stuff. I plan on checking back with them often. I love the older brown wood furniture myself. Sometimes I hate to see the pieces repainted but it can look fine in the right room. Younger folks just do not want brown furniture. So I find it reasonably priced with a smaller market for it. I know it is all about the hardware too. A change can do wonders for a piece of furniture. I have 3 older brown wood furniture items in my home. Wish I had more. Must do something about that!! That odd shaped table for a corner for 25.00 was lovely. Now deliver that green couch to me and all will be perfect in my world.

This store has so much amazing deals on furniture. Our local stores don’t usually have furniture sadly. I definitely could use new furniture on a very tight budget.

Tip I learned from a antique expert, when looking for true antique silver platers hold it up in natural light to see if you can find the makers mark. If you don’t see one or see where a sticker was then it’s not a true antique

How do you choose which pieces can be refinished or re imagined?
I like ornate solid wood pieces. They have more visual interest when they are painted. I can make a video with examples if there's interest ❤️❤️❤️

I live in Maryland. Cost of living is high so our thrift stores are expensive compared to your prices.
Around my area on market place the average price for furniture is $100. Which is crazy when it needs worked on and I paint furniture and when you pay $100 and go to sell it no one wants to pay what your asking but I can’t give it away

😣 Feel your pain about pricing. From this tour, seems like those Sacto thrift stores have fairly interesting merchandise for more affordable pricing👍. LA can be💲outrageous💸 for even seriously dated vintage goods.
If I'm gonna pay⚜boutique (or antique) prices on anything mass produced from the 20th Century, I want the whole 🛍boutique experience. Plus, it had better be outstanding or at least in good condition. Not willing to slum for some💰pricey cast-off that has seen better😝decades.
😍Not into thrifting for the purposes of reselling, but I admire those that do it.😉There's space for all kinds of resellers, but you gotta understand your market. Everybody deserves to make a living -- and be paid for their contribution toward beautifying something. More power to you -- if can command top dollar💵 for your finds &/or upcycles.
🏆Unless remarkable in design or workmanship, would pass on $100+ for what amounts to a solid hunk-a-junk wooden dresser that demands serious 💪elbow grease, ⚒ tools|supplies, and
🎨 expertise 🖌 to refresh & revive.
🙄You probably live in an ultra thrifty community who would rather🔨DIY than pay for someone else to do it for them.
🤔Or, perhaps they simply aren't able to set much aside for those things.
👩💻Instead would scour free online listings or 🚘drive around the night before🗑trash day looking for cool curbside finds.
🛑Stop for furniture roadkill anyway. I will flip over
👻scary couches🛋 for the bun feet and other abandoned furnishings for exceptional

📸Even post photos of respectable pieces I've seen on side of the road or some dumpster for others to grab.
😨 Hate seeing something with good, sturdy bones get
💣destroyed💥 and put in any landfill.
🙋♀️Grateful for ppl who donate these things, and flippers who use their ingenuity & skills♻️ to repurpose|refashion 'em. Not thrilled with a second-hand store that acts like a high-end retailer selling new goods. 🎉 Instead of being greedy, we need a win-win for everybody🌎!

Great video! We always wanted to get into furniture but we buy and sell in a motorhome that we travel in full time. Do you think modern or antique furniture is better to resell right now?
My personal opinion is antique furniture. 1. Grandmillenial style is still huge. 2. Farmhouse style is being replaced by Cottage style & French Country. 3. Bespoke and antique furniture were trending with interior designers in 2020 and continuing into 2021. But mixing old and new is also on trend, so maybe a bit of both? Natural finish wood with round, clean lines seems to be making its way into every style. Just my opinion, but I hope this helps ❤️❤️❤️

Those are very nice old furnitures, here in Laredo Texas are to expensive , no way is the same quality than the ones you’re showing in this video. I just saw yesterday a table for 8 chairs mármol top for $650 only the table

This stores are crazy, they sell stuff more expensive than if u buy it brand new. They get all those things for free and they sell it like is new.
Sandy, I'm not gonna lie, I think their pricing has been irresponsible during the pandemic. But I hope they will return to reasonable pricing in 2021. I'm seeing some dropping prices in my area, and I really hope this continues around the country. Affordable thrifting is really important for our communities and environment. ❤️❤️❤️
