A few years ago my father in law gifted me the "family stockpot" so I could cook him his favorite shrimp boil. I'm from the South so he entrusted me with the honor. It's a massive 34qt ceramic on steel stockpot that's been in his family for decades. Barely fits on the stove top and probably best if cooked on a stand alone burner because the weight on my glasstop is a bit scetchy. Either way, he passed away 2 years ago this month and with my wife being an only child, the pot one day will go to our kids. Idk know why I feel so much pride being the honorary holder of this pot but just knowing that it's been used to feed so many people for so long just gives me such a sense of pride every time I look at it. It sits on top of my cabinets, looks like an oversized decoration but has a long history and is always catching the eyes of visitors leading to a great story to share. My favorite part about it, is being and to share the food from that pot with all my neighbors. It's truly something special. Love the video my man.
