Federal reserve notes can’t be redeemed in gold, silver, or any other commodity, so the federal reserve in 1933 pushed forward the Gold Reserve Act robbing the population of what little wealth they had left during the height of the Great Depression. In other words the dollar bill only has value because of the public’s consumption rates there is no measure of wealth in dollar bills.

At least it follows the spot price. I bought some gold and silver coins. The spot price is just marketing. At the counter they charge whatever they feel like. Always same story, oh, supply is short, demand is too high.

There have been a number of "bad" gold wholesalers around the world over the last few years, mixing other low grade metals in their ingots.
Buy bullion coins from the classified ads, often those are weak hands selling and you can get it at spot.
Or get scammed with fake Chinese bullion coins, use your head
@@sdbullion There are numerous ways to verify a coin is real or fake, weight, dimensions, taking it to a jeweler for XRF scanning, etc. Even the sound that gold makes is unique. I only buy gold from Craigslist private sellers or on the classified, avoiding getting ripped off with high premiums.
2% sounds like an arbitrary allocation. The actual amount of gold you need will be an individual decision, and would obviously depend on how large one's portfolio was and what income it normally generates. It also depends on how many streams of income you rely on.

ETFs are for those who can’t afford to buy the physical but still want to invest in it via fractional amounts. You just need to know the right ETFs that are actually backed by physical bullion. Of course physical is always the best though.

A lot of people are sceptical about gold but let us see a situation you travel abroad lose ur belongings wallet let's say but if u have gold jewelry or simply say gold on u. With money it’s easy to illegally make fakes, with gold you can’t fake it ( and if one does then it’s easy to know if it’s fake or not), you can’t make more of it there’s only a finite amount of it in this world and one day we will run out of it. The value of gold has never crashed and never will because of its rarity and industrial use etc.
With Bitcoin as soon as the internet shuts off you have no access to it or no way to use it lol. Physical gold you’ll always have with or without electricity and internet.

Ehhh. I mean in some cases gold is more useful in that sense in others not so much. If you get your wallet stollen you might lose that bling too. With bitcoin all you need is to have a password memorized. Granted depending on where you are it might be easier to pawn some gold than sell bitcoin. I don't think there is a clear answer on which is better to hold wealth in. They both have uses and disadvantages. The downside of both of course is the environmental costs and lack of productive activity.
@@raikou25 You can use bitcoin offline but only in a limited way(you can only transfer a wallet offline you cant move money between wallets. Let me know if you are interested in details.). And bitcoin as a whole is reliant on the internet. I should say though that the bitcoin network if it had to could run through the tor network. So it would be fairly difficult(although probably not impossible) to shut down without substantially degrading the internet generally even if outlawed.

Me an intellectual: Looks like an attempt at Market Manipulation by both companies.
Your not wrong man they want retail to buy buy buy so they can take the opposite side of the trade and get their sell orders filled to crash the spot market price. Prime example is bitcoin 2017 when the media and every single person was talking about it, the big boys were loading up on the other side which was sells and the rest is history lol. Same thing happening right now with Bitcoin. History always repeats itself but retail never learns.
I once bought a golden ring for my wife. Two days later, she came to me crying. I asked her what's wrong, and she showed me a bent ring. She accidentally dropped it and stepped on it. Gold is really soft, and can change shape so easily.

That’s 24k gold for you it’s extremely soft hence why pure gold jewellery tends to get bent out of shape really easily. 18k or 20K gold jewellery is better as they mix stronger additives like chromium and steel to prevent jewellery from bending easily.
@Scumfuck McDoucheface you're both correct... any metal can be combined with gold to create varying levels of hardness, different colors, different electrical conductivity, varying frequency, other minute properties.. copper could be used to make soft rose gold mix, platinum could be used to make hard white gold mix. 9999 pure gold makes the 10,000 year old everlasting unchanging beautiful pieces that will never rot away or even tarnish, but are soft and can change shape. interestingly, silver and gold are found combined naturally in the earth sometimes, that's called electrum, and electrum has been used as money in past civilizations

Maybe not fraud, but probably tax evasion crimes. Technically everytime you sell gold you have to pay taxes on the gains/losses. Sounds like he just doesn't want to be targeted by the IRS.
Bitcoin is neither use (in the physical sense; industry etc) nor ornament as we say about worthless things where I live.
It will not be valueless though because it can be moved seamlessly across borders without showing up on the xray machines at airports. If I was a criminal I'd use it, it's easier than gold for that.

Ideally yes, but sometimes you need to buy stuff with your wealth, kind of like how most consider dollars to be money, but they still "sell" their dollars to buy goods and services.
Lots of reasons why somebody might sell like an unanticipated medical bill or home repair, it's there if you need it.

If I can mine gold for $400-$650 a troy ounce, and sell it for $1800 a troy ounce, I would keep 2/3rds of what I mine, or more if possible, and never sell it. Buy selling, I dilute the price of gold and throw away my hard earned "money"! Ideally, I would mine gold, and never sell any! That way, I protect my "proof of work"!

First thing, gold is not an investment at all, anyone saying that gold is an investment is an ignorant idiot. The same as your money in your wallet is not an investment. The gold would be an investment if you actually used it for making jewellery, electronics etc. If you just to buy it for the sake of having it, it is a way of SAVING money. It is protection. It is hedge, it is something that has worked for thousands of years. Prices in gold decrease. Prices in fiat increase. You choose what you save.

Even if you don't believe that mediums of exchange and stores of value can have value just based on those properties bitcoin does have other properties. Holding Bitcoin entitles you to a portion of the verifiable computing power that the bitcoin network can run. In terms of raw computation this is very very limited. The network can only compute some limited things unlike say the etherium network and its efficiency is laughably bad. But it is verifiable computing which increases its value over something like just buying a server. Granted if you look at people actually using in the network in this way it would probably value bitcoin at only like 1/1000 of its current value. While something more like maybe 1/5 of golds value is tied to real world applications.
