Juan Soto: "I would like a new contract."
    Steve Cohen: "Here's $765 million."
    Juan Soto: "Done!"

I’m watching in San Diego, just curious how our Padres did financially in 2023. We don’t have a big TV contract locally, MLB televises all of our games. However, the Padres had 3.3 million fans attend their games last year, so that’s pretty good revenue.

How a guy that dodged significant jail time with monumental evidence of insider trading, was fined the most money by SEC in history, and only got off because the SEC has no power, was approved to be an owner of an mlb team is astonishing. He has about 10 billion more dollars than the 2nd richest owner. And what has he contributed to society to earn that much? Wish more Mets fans would understand who he really is.

Regular people miss $5 on our taxes and we get sent to jail, but someone like Cohen basically gets rewarded for his crimes! Incredible how different the rules are between the two classes

This is going to go down as one of the worst contracts in the history of all sports. You need alot more to even think playoff team, They have no SP other the. Senga, they lost severino and have resigned manea, who where huge for them last year in their playoff run, as well pete alanso doesnt look like he will be resgned but if they lose him thats another BIG reason why they where in the NLCS last year. Good luck lol. He will be DH for them before you know it, hasnt entred his prime yet, but his defense, his arm, and his speed are all in decline, thats scary!

It doesn't make financial sense. For Baseball sense. Not all teams can make some offer. Plus how Dodgers is kicking the can do road to pay the players. And still be competitive in the future. Not all teams can do that. After CBA is ending after 2025. I think there be lockout until the owers come to agreement.

The Mets don’t even own their own tv 📺 network which is still owned by the pathetic prior ownership group of Fred “coupon” Wilpon until “31”. Having that revenue back that every other big market team has at their disposal would be huge and preclude Cohen from spending as much as he currently does.A long with the Mets theme park which he is currently in pursuit of and building around citified. This would also bode well for Steve Cohen as it is revenue that does not have to be shared with the other 29 clubs. Bottom line, this Mets juggernaut could become even more dangerous in the next coming years.
