just learned, biscayne national park has its own limits, some being different. may be similar for other park areas. we got stopped by fwc last weekend and they were explaining it all.
Heath - is there one centralized web site for season and bag limits or do you refer to the FWC for state waters and NOAA fisheries for federal waters? Fantastic video as always !
I use fwc and South Atlantic fishery management websites. Here's the links: myfwc.com/media/20441/quickchart.pdf myfwc.com/fishing/saltwater/recreational/ safmc.net/regulations NOAA doesn't have regs... They just announce closures
Hi Heath, Wow, this is complicated. That was great information. I have the "Fish Rules" app on my phone. It's good for local waters. Say "Hi" to the Crew. Take care, Mickey
Hi Mickey, yes rules can be tricky... Some folks say it's the authorities burden of proof... However I always say I don't wanna give them a reason to scrutinize anything so I cover my tracks and play it safe. Hope all is well in Palm Bay... Everyone here is good. Talk to you soon, take care
I'm here... haven't really been able to get out much this year... It's kinda been a wash, between getting injured & having surgery, my grandmother passing away. I am looking forward to this weather cycle letting up and being able to get back on the water
@ I’m very sorry to hear. I hope 2025 is a much better year for you! I don’t think you’re missing anything. I agree. The weather in South Florida the past couple of weeks has been a no-go. I was just able to get out of Hillsboro inlet yesterday, got a decent wahoo 150’ between pompano and Deerfield. I learned all my tricks from your videos. Looking forward to more!
Heath, we will be visiting the great state of Florida in late Jan 25 and would like to find a good fishing charter while we're there. Does anyone have a recommendation? We will be in the Palm Coast area.
excellent video, any way you can talk about restricted areas and regulated areas? I fish out of Sebastian now and I found these areas on my GPS. Not finding much information about them.
@@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing I was told in regulated areas you couldnt bottom fish, but could troll. In restricted you couldnt bottom fish or troll. I cant find anything about them. Hoping you can help, I'm not the best googler
No... As long as your gps track shows you had no intention of fishing in state waters for the dolphin.... FWC knows dolphin are pelagic fish that don't typically hang out over the reef where you would be snapper fishing.
Thanks for the tips Heath. My uncle used to say, "i need my lawyer with me while fishing." Lol.
🤣🤣🤣

Binging you channel, if you are ever in Palm Beach County you have a fishing buddy & free dockhand. Tight lines til the end of time 🎣
Thanks a million for watching. I'll keep your offer in mind if I'm ever up that way 😎🤙
Well explained!
Good one man! Thanks!

I can look into it and try to explain. The Keys have several restricted zones... So you have a great question.

Is the aggregate on grouper and snapper per person or per boat?
Per person
So if I go out 20 miles and catch 10 dolphin then ride ride back to fish reefs inside state waters and catch 2 gray snapper are you in violation?
No... As long as your gps track shows you had no intention of fishing in state waters for the dolphin.... FWC knows dolphin are pelagic fish that don't typically hang out over the reef where you would be snapper fishing.
Save your tracks so you can prove your innocence. Sounds like we are losing our rights as fisherman to me
I thought you were didnt have to prove innocent, they have to prove guilt?
It's a grey area.. so I preach to err on the side of caution and not give them any reason to dig deeper than they normally would
We are checking records to see if any of you ever read a book or brushed your teeth. It is very doubtful. Joking...very instructional.
🤣🤣🤣
