I couldn’t love Edith and Archie more! Jean Stapleton and Carroll O’Connor put their all into these characters. This was good TV! These were characters you got completely lost in. 💜
After his tirade, when he sits down, the look on his face when he realizes that his bluster caused her concern, and how broken up he was and desperate to fix it, and his sincerity in assuring her that he would never give her up. This was a great show.
I loved when after punishing her Archie reassured Stephanie he wouldnt turn her away for nothing and wrapped his arms around her I watch over and over!
Yep, Mike specifically mentioned, IF something happened to Edith, then Archie would be the only parent. WELL... Go figure, that's sadly exactly what happened. (Maybe brilliant writing, maybe just a coincidence).
I wish my own kids understood how much I loved them and had to reprimand them b4 their mother poisoned them against me when she left me on an island. I was always the person she would explain..."it is what he decided ,I sorry..."
Watching Archie and his twinkies Told Stephanie he was going to eat hers I started coming down with strange case of "twinkieitis"! They had some in vending machine downstairs. Ive been in process of getting new teeth. The twinkie became an item that was soft enough for me to eat!❤️
The truth is, I come from the olden days. Stephie deserved a small smack. But Edith did a fabulous job understanding and disciplining Stephie. Both Archie and Edith were correct.😢❤
funny how everybody cracks on Archie like he’s the bad guy but this man has never had an empty house. he’s working to take care of his wife and daughter, then daughter selfishly marries a freeloader who Archie takes care of for five years while that liberal communist contributes nothing except arguing because he sees the world differently but instead of respecting his views and shutting up, Archie gotta deal with his junk after working all day. Then, they finally leave and the man thinks he can have some peace with his wife in the house he’s been working to pay off all these years and a drunk leaves a 10 year old on his porch. another person he takes in after his daughter takes his grandson clear across the country. you don’t have to like his views or how he says things but Archie was a good man and ppl never give him credit. but why would they, men never get credit for carrying everybody else on their back and being the consistent provider for everyone else.
She was scared of being sent away. Kids who don’t have security don’t make the best choices. Please never punish a child for being afraid. Edith gave her exactly what she needed and so did Archie in his own way.
@@Capecodham I'm tired of the "back then" line. Back then we had forced prayer, segregation, women had no rights, children were considered property (as were women). A man can beat it even rape his with without punishment
“Stop worrying. I wouldn’t turn you loose for nuthin’.”
I really have to stop chopping up these onions for my salads when I watch these things.

She was such a cute little girl. ❤️
You find yourself having fun at something stop it 😂.
Can't stop laughing at that one!
Stephanie helped with the process of mellowing Archie.
Those were my same thoughts too😊❤
She sure did Mellowed Archie

He didn't even punish her. You know he wasn't going to do what he said he would.
For the first week no television, at all. For the second week, and this is going to be worse, educational television only. Archie was the G.O.A.T.
LOL. As an educator, even I will say how brutal that is! 😂
Week 3? Conservative television programming.
thats a reward. This country needs that now more than ever@@ef7558
Love this scene!! ❤ 😂
Awwww that was so sweet. Good episode. Thanks for sharring‼️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️😇😇😇😇😇😇
When Archie yells Stephie that she can stop worrying because he wouldn't turn her loose for nothing, I cried, it was such beautiful love.❤❤❤❤
This proves how the press described Archie a bigot but a loveable one! One of my favorites too! I liked Stephanie and Edith too.
Beautiful scene with brilliant acting and brilliant writing.
And Mike and Gloria were so worried about the idea of Archie and Edith raising Joey if something happened to them.
Yep, Mike specifically mentioned, IF something happened to Edith, then Archie would be the only parent. WELL... Go figure, that's sadly exactly what happened. (Maybe brilliant writing, maybe just a coincidence).
Arch loved him some Stephie, Big Time ❗️CBS color television 📺
❤❤❤❤ I miss this favorite show
Archie is a wonderful human being.
Edith Is Sweet.❤🥹

Why don't we have shows like this today? TV is such trash. How I miss the golden age of television.
great episode, Stephie was used to being bounced around with her no good father.
Damn this show is awesome. Even when it slightly jumped the shark with Steph on the show.
Yes, it jumped the shark when she joined the show but not because of her joining the show. Stephenie’s character was a brilliant decision.

AITF was great 👍👍 show
AITF?
Made my eyes water up 😢
Well, her aunt Edith IS A "Clepper"!! lol
Edith was the voice of reasoning
The truth is, I come from the olden days. Stephie deserved a small smack. But Edith did a fabulous job understanding and disciplining Stephie. Both Archie and Edith were correct.😢❤
No she didn't deserve a spanking. She was a motherless traumatized child, who needed love and support, in order to feel safe, not punishment.
Damn onions
Yes

Stephanie got off easy, she did wrong she should be punished.
She did it for a sad reason
She did nothing wrong
@@PRHILL9696 she stole stuff, and she lied about it.
She was scarred the poor girl. i do not blamer her one bit. ANy human in that position would do the same thing@@RoseRedd-k4b

Archie was my dad 😂…
I got caught stealing from the local supermarket 8 years old
My dad beat the crap outta me… 😑🫨… Long time ago…😅…
That's criminal assault and child abuse!
@@ef7558 Not then. Plus did he ever steal again?

@@ef7558 I did not say, "back."
@@Capecodham Well you did say "not then". So how else is that supposed to be interpreted? Are we in a parallel universe?
Where did this kid even come from
She is Edith's great niece. Her alcoholic, vagabond of a father left her on their porch.
