Today l have understood this man Mike Sonko. Hats off for him and let him continue with his shock therapy to rid Nairobi of cartels, thieves and inept officers. People underrated Sonko but his mastery of the myriad issues he is dealing with, updated on similar things elsewhere in the world, and oscillating from English to Swahili...it takes a keen eye to detail and passion...and l hasten to add, some wisdom to know what to portray about him depending on his audience, the balance between abbrassive approach and the no nonsense naming and shaming of the rot, complete with evidence...kudos SIR

I’ll break it down for you Mike Sonko with an small example:
Nairobi county sq km..+/- 695
Constituencies ..17
Wards ... 85
Population ..4m plus
Melbourne ,Australia sq km +/- 3900
State divisions / independent ‘city councils’ / municipalities 54
Federal divisions... 23
Population +/- 5 M
Now each of the 54 state divisions have their own recycle facility,infrastructure develoment capacity, revenue collection- parking , fines etc.. in essence, they somewhat run ‘independent’ of each other . The ‘overlord’ who would sort of be your equivalent is the State premier- who not only heads “ melbourne” but the whole State of victoria which is another

kenya is a developing country. i don't think you should compare melbourne to NBO. i think sonko and his guys are trying the best to get to high levels in terms of development .remember rome was not built in one day.

we have one problem in Kenya, when people who are working under the government steal and are requested to explain the whereabouts of the funds, they start projecting their fears to their leaders by accusations that they are being intimidated. Sonko is telling the truth

Sonko good work bt pliz one day sneak to city hall and see what those fools are doing starting from senior to junior staffs, I went to apply for business permit,, I didn't believe my eyes,if those guys don't know you or you don't bribe them more than 1k you, will keep waiting till you give up,in fact the lady who had to serve me was watching funny pranks and videos on the laptop as people were waiting, believe me I went home minus the permit.I was annoid,sonko shape up city hall.
