He called his friend to help him and asked how much money we had. They waited outside store for us to leave in hopes of robbing us. The lovely store clerk made them move away from front entrance giving us a window to quickly jump in an Uber when it came.

Looks like you are at Flamingo and Decatur, which is not too bad of an area, besides the occasional meth head or desperate homeless people. There's a Capriotti's sandwich place in the strip mall above MickeyD's. Next time I would not verbalize how much you have put into the slot multiple times, if there is a next time. Good it all worked out, keep safe.
