    Great lecture Sir, thank you. Sir, are we ignoring the mass of the charge and its weight? How would tgis setup work if we had to take care of gravitational force on the particle?

      We are indeed ignoring gravity, for the simple reason that the gravitational forces are so much weaker than the electrical forces, that they have virtually no effect.

    is this a a sort of particle dtetector used in large atomic labs like CERN

      This is used more for mass spectrometers, such that the velocity is known and the mass can then be calculated based on the radius of curvature in the magnetic field.

    I do not understand how electron cannot deflect to one side .because electric field change the magnitude and magnetic field change the direction of a force.... plz tail....

      Only for a particular velocity is the force of the electric field equal to the force of the magnetic field. Only the force of the magnetic field depends on the velocity of the charged particle.
