- In this video I want to show my homemade LED light for my router Festool OF 1010. I have installed frame which serves as cooling aluminum radiator for 4 LED diods. Driver for them I did install inside the body of router.

This is my lumberblog - lumberjocks.com...
I don't know much about LED.
I've bought these - a-svet.prom.ua/...
Drivers for supply power - svetodiodnyj-dr...
This driver can supply 3 or 4 or 5 diods. Need to attach them sequetially. Also need to remember that diods required cooling. For this use thermoglue like this - a-svet.prom.ua/...
Need to glue diods to cooler radiator. I made it by myself as body because regular absolutely inappropriate by size.
This is cooler - forled.com.ua/p...
And regular interim platform for fixing - a-svet.prom.ua/...
Last ones I didn't use at all. Too less place for them.
Usually diods glue to them and after these plates glue to coolers by thermoglue. I made aluminum body frame to substitute plate and cooler by it.

*I absolutely love this tool!!! The first one was defective and Dewalt replaced **MyBest.Tools** More bulky than the Bosch and Makita corded palm routers I have but worth it. Nice solid base*
very impressive! Festool needs you on their design and engineering team! Always inspiring to see your ingenious ideas and watch your clever construction methods & amazing quality of your finished projects! 👍🏼
Maybe one day I'll open my own small festool). Thanks for watching
Awesome, again. But I still think that lighting should come as standard in routers od this pricerange... But well, yours has it now :)
Absolutely amazing my friend. Nice work and skills
Festool should use you as a designer - lets hope they saw you very clever idea and impliment it into their router range. Very impressed by your multi skill abilities!
Very impressive, love your detail to the finished product. If you hadn't shown this video and only showed the lighting I would have thought it was original to the router. Well done and thanks for showing us that.
Welcome!
If i could give you two thumbs up I would. I can't tell you how nice it is to see someone that has a great idea and is able to bring it to reality. Please keep making videos and I will definitely keep watching.
You're a star!! Now, all manufacturers can we just make that mandatory for every tool, please? Great job.....fearless!!
Professionally and competently performed modernization. 1 milion likes :)
Recommendation - LED is mounted on the radiator through the thermal conductive paste ( КПТ-8)
This Kafuter glue is a special termal glue for led diods fixing. 1.6 termotransfer ability
I did not know that a paste. So all correctly performed :)
Good job!!!!
Thank you!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! ....YOU ARE MY NEW HERO.
COMPELETELY AMAZED FROM ARGENTINA.
I glad you like this! Welcome!
Thank you Mirock. This is a fantastic idea. I will do something similar using LED SMD rings on my OF2200 and Makita RT0700 once I finish building my house.
Very nice work, I'd feel some trepidation in adapting an expensive tool like this, but without risk you gain nothing either. Came out excellent.
Very well done, Vlad!! I was particularly impressed with the aluminum cooling/holding grid you designed and milled for the LED lights (because they are so easily overheat and burn if not installed properly)!
Yes. The mail task for this aluminum body is namelly cooling. I've done some little space between it and router body to allow air convect free
And that is why these lights will last:)
+CrazyRussianWoodShop yes)
indeed a must have feature for routers, a very nice design, Mirock! I have it on my bosch pof 1400, but it failed after some years. it has a cable-less design, I just fixed it, if someone is interested, I release the video on that tomorrow!
You are a genius guy...Good work, Festoll has to look at your work and appreciate it
wow, how wonderful, all mfg.s should take note! Great Job!
Very interesting job and cool hack!
Thank you colleague!)
Very nice!
This is why youtube is so great at spreading knowledge.
I agree. I have took in youtube much more than on any university.
Νοw this is an excellent modification.Well done.I wish my routers had lights like that!!
It is simply perfect... You have to sell this idea to the festool guys.
Festool guys too busy)
I wish I had the skill and courage to attempt something like this. Well done!
Good job comrade. Festool should have done this years ago!
Fantastic modification, outstanding craftsmanship!
Good job - you're a brave man taking that nice router apart!
Nothing can happen
Now sell this idea to festool!!!
it will add 200 bucks to the price ;0)
Good job !You're a genius. Really high degree of completion
Excellent idea and manufacturing!
Mirock, you never cease to amaze me. Keep these videos coming. Bill
Thank you, Bill!
Awesome. Was exactly what I missed on my of1010
i like that kind of engineering, especially how you made that long star bit :-D
Please make a kit and sell it :P That cooling plate, those particular leds. We want!
brilliant, love to see this type of creative know how. Thanks for taking the time to share. Really liked the parts were you sped up the tedious bits.
Amazing work Mirock, well done!
Very impressive modification. Nicely done.
That mod is Awesome. Fantastic job. Thanks for sharing.
very well done with a professional look still about the tool.
Nice job. Going to be making a new base plate with light strips in it
Cool! CNC is just amazing tool!
I was also thinking of adding light to some of my tools. But I don't think I'll dare to go as far as you did :), so will start with a battery powered LED light and see how it goes
I also will make battery powered LED light. For my Fe drill. There I havnt ~220~
Awesome build, well done 👍🏼😊
For whatever reason this just showed up in my suggested videos, I am already a sub so maybe that's why. This is not just a good idea, its the greatest. Light where you need it most and certainly bright enough to see clearly with. Excellent execution my friend as usual. I noticed a second trace of the cooler on your sacrificial base. Did you make a second part?
Thank you, tsstn. O made two traces for wires because first I had plan to place wires separately
Very ingenious & once again very well executed. Try doing it on the OF 2200 watts model if you can. Many thanks for another great video.
Of course I will try! Juts after buying it!) Wery good router but a bit expensive)))
excellent job as usual 😀 Festool need to do this upgrade on the next gen of1010
I posted this on FOG.
And the light be..... Great great job
Wow, really amazing job! Superb finish
Great Addition looks like original 👍
I tried to make resemble)
....and the wood ninja strikes again...wow fantastic job ,as always, very clever !! well done.
You should be working for Festool in their research and development department Mirock. 😄👍
maybe one day)
Awesome! Now I want to make something like that in my router ;) Thanks for the idea and video.
Wow!!! Love all of your project videos!!!
Pleasure for me to know that! thanx!
Dude you are amazing. Great work brother.
Thanx bro!
👌👍 . Spitze
Mit freundlichen Grüßen Erich Schmidt.
Another 1st class job so clever
Bravo, it’s really a high level modification.
Now you may upgrade your Fiolent router without any fear of damage it.
100%)
Very bright... and that is what we need)) usefull thing!))
🥰 whats the best upgrade ever
Good job! Well designed and made. It's a useful improvement for your Router. And as you say would be a nice addition for your other handheld tools.
It so good that I already don't know how I could work earlier)
It's so good that I don't know how Festool didn't think of it.
Hi, I've seen most of your projects and really enjoyed learning new things from you. LED light is Great idea, but one thing I don't understand, why you add separate switch to LED and not to connected to start switch directly?
What about to see all in perfect BEFORE to start/main switch ON? :)
That is a very good job on improving your work tool Mirock now all you have to do is patten it before the company steels your improvement :-)
To much troubles with these patents. But thank you, Angela for watching!
Really good led-fix for your router :)
Wery impressive!
I would love such upgrade for my OF 1400!
We're you an engineer in a previous lifetime? Good work!
I was furniture designer earlier
You are a real Genius ..
very professional job, as if it was originally made that way
Thank you Tom!
Congrats, Very creative Indeed.. Greg
unbeliable! I would never dare to do that!
Awesome, very nice work!
you are the coolest Artist
Pure genius.
Nice idea and implementation. I like it.
Thank you, Pete!
It's really nice work, and have you thought about you hu can save on the light in your workshop ☺
At least I tried)
Festool should hire You. Have they already called You? ;)
Perfect! Thanks for sharing!!
good modernization
This is brilliant very impressive.
brilliant video, really enjoyed it, also gives ideas to others....well done
CONGRATULATIONS MIROCK.I AM FROM BRAZIL AND I DID NOT UNDERSTAND ABOUT FIXING OU UPGRADING TOOLS.COULD YOU SEND ME A BRIEF SHOWING HOW DO YOU HAVE INSTALLED THE LIGTHS.I HAVE SEEN YOUR VIDEO 2 TIMES BUT SOMETIMES I DID NOT UNDERSTAND YOUR EXPLANATION.THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Well done sir!
Very creative!
Good job! :)
Amazing! Best video yet! Very impressive! Brilliant idea!
Awesome work
AWESOME! Now, design and build one for my Bosch 1617EVS, please. 8-)
Now we need to light all tools in the world!)
Awesome ik was thinking about this wit a ring light from a bmw. Nice project
Genius!
That is awesome idk y festool don’t put them in there routers
You should paint the base Black, that way you have less reflection, and it's easier on the eyes.
Really light is normal. Camera a bit exagerrated it.
Awesome job man!
Thank you, Alex!
Excellent!
Thanx!
Mirock would you be willing to make some of these up with the leds pre soldiered and them glued into the Cnc'd heat sink base you made, basically that whole kit and all I would have to do is install it my self ? If so how much would you want for it sent to the United Kingdom many thanks tom
Not just cool VERY COOL!!!
