- Finally, from the depths of the Munson video archives, comes the first installment of a huge batch of news coverage I videotaped from local TV back in 1989, prior to the release of Batman.
To put this in perspective, at the time Batman enjoyed one of the largest media blitzes in history. It set the bar for what a blockbuster release was supposed to look like, and films today like "The Force Awakens" in my opinion really don't even come close.
Re-watching this video today, something like 26 years after I recorded it, I am once again struck with all the same feelings of excitement and anticipation that I felt back then. And I am reminded of why I love that Batmobile so much!
That Batmobile will always be my favorite childhood memory.
Tim Burton's sets were so great. Green screens don't always do justice to a movie.
True.
RIP Anton Furst (1944 -1991) after winning the Oscar for these amazing sets
Also created the batman 1989 logo.
MY WIFE and I have seen all of them... this was the best one...
This is awesome. Thanks for putting this up. It's great to see them shooting the Axis Chemicals scene.
Great making of outtakes behind the scenes stuff!
Still one of the greatest superhero movies ever. Too bad about the sequels though.

Wow
Time burton at age of 30.
Director of blockbuster budget of over $30 million.
thank you for posting!
"Return of Batman and Robin"
wat
Not Robin. Tim Burton did cast Ricky Addison Reed as the Richard Grayson Robin until the comics fans voting to kill Robin [the Jason Todd version] in 1988 "A Death in the Family" arc convinced Warner Bros chairmen that Robin didn't need to be in the movie.
Love it!!
I would of given anything to walk this set.
Same
@@jalenjohnson1662 A good friend that I met later in life did. Her parents are big in the industry and worked at pinewood often.
Soon to be 30years ago. Let that sink in
