Of course, God works in mysterious ways that man can't possibly hope to understand. The only things that we know for sure about Him are that he hates gays and loves it when we substitute medicine with prayer, so we should all just do those two things blindly!
God is all powerful and all knowing, God knows what choice everyone is going to make ever. Like he said, what's the point it creating the first man and woman, then killing them and their decedents, all except for one of their grand sons and grand daughters?
As far as I'm aware, this video happened to appear on the newsfeed of people who aren't subscribed, so more people who aren't subscribed and disagree with me saw the video, which is a good thing if you ask me!
this kind of video will do that. to be fair, I think you overgeneralize a lot here, and I'd wonder if you'd be interested in someone taking this video point for point and answering each question from the other perspective. then again, you'd have to have confidence that that person is an actual thinker and not just a blind believer. in any case, as someone who has been in your shoes, and no longer is, for various reasons, and who has a BA in Philosophy and an MA in history both broadly studying the three great monotheistic faiths, I'd be happy to answer honestly. not that I think I'd ever convince you, but we all need hear from critics who aren't nutjobs once in a while.
+An Luu I realize that, and the illustration means most people go down the wide path to damnation. So my question is why would God make the system such that most of his beloved creatures end up eternally separated from him, instead of eternally enjoying the beatific vision and basking in his love? It's pretty messed up.
Casey just put it perfectly. Life is like a test. if you, yourself, a tiny incapable tiny human aren't able to believe in a power larger than yourself there's no point.
he created you, gives you life, happiness, makes you able to love. He isnt a partner, he is a god. I was using a metaphor to put it in simple terms. If you havent read the bible and put in the time to understand it then dont try to. You're as ignorant as people who try to write islam off as a violent religion. If you dont want to believe in god then dont. Why waste your time hating on what others believe in? Must be a very boring life.
+aidan c. I guess that's why you would call the Virgin berth a mericale and not something normal XD. How did jesus walk on water how did he turn water into wine its a mericale because it's not something that is possible for the world as it is without God intervening into the world and how science (the discovery of the things that make our world work all of the forces and atoms and natural laws that were created by God to keep the universe running) tells us it runs
If you dont believe there is a God that has control over his creation obviously there would never be a virgin birth but asking the question to someone who's world view revolves around God's divinity and being all powerful means I will answer the questions as my world view answers. However without such a being yes you are right a virgin birth wouldn't be possible :)
Redgie Fonzarelli, sorry no, abortion is murder of the innocent and God doesn't support that in any form or manner and has clearly stated many times in the Bible that murderers will not enter heaven.
Daryl A You pro-lifers me make laugh. You think you’re in the right but you’re dead wrong. Let me ask you a question: When does a potential life take precedence over an actual life? If you say yes/always, then you clearly not a true pro-lifer but a pro-sadist. You condone the suffering of billions of actual men, women and children in this world whether they suffer from starvation, disease, poverty, war, abuse, murder, rape, and incest and you insist that they are nothing and that a mere fetus is more valuable than they are! Apparently the 10th Commandment doesn’t apply to you (Even though in Matthew 22 36-39, Jesus says you must follow it.) You are a sick man, Daryl. You’re the one who’s going to Hell for being such a sadistic prick and deceiving others with your false teachings and ideologies
Why did an omnipotent God command the Israelites to murder innocent men, women, children, and babies so his chosen people could live in their promised land? Why didn't this omnipotent God just snap his fingers and teleport all those innocent people somewhere else? Deuteronomy 20- 10 When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. 11 If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you. 12 If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city. 13 When the Lord your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. 14 As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. And you may use the plunder the Lord your God gives you from your enemies. 15 This is how you are to treat all the cities that are at a distance from you and do not belong to the nations nearby. 16 However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes.17 Completely destroy them-the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites-as the Lord your God has commanded you.
Well because if a normal men give his life for us then god would not accept the sacrifice because men have fall physically and spiritually. That why Jesus Christ, aka the embodiment of god must do it because he is holy, spiritually and physically. Why you think in church that we pray the blood of Jesus Christ when we pray.😇
@@montrealstewart8148 Alternatively, he could just forgive us and skip the whole sacrificing himself thing. You'd think an omnipotent and all-knowing god would know how to do that.
god works in mysterious ways...if this statement is true then next time my teachers catch me for being a jerk, all I have to say is "I'm just acting in God's image...just being mysterious like him"
Rew Rose why would God give sexual characteristics in the first place if lust is a sin? And for that matter, why did he give guys foreskins? And then tell them to chop it off?
Rew Rose first of all, g spot is for the vagina. Look up the definition before you start asking dumb questions that can easily be answered. Second of all, you don't know if Jesus had nipples. But assuming he did, which I think he does because Mary gave birth to him and since Mary was sinless and pure, and so was God, Jesus's physical form inherited some physical genetics of Mary because it's a fact that Mary is the mother of the HUMAN Jesus. Nipples are just another physical part because as males we have one Y and one X chromosomes. While females are two X chromosomes. We still have one X indicating female aspect apart of us.
The devil is king of earth. What I mean by this is that he is on earth making people suffer. God is also making you suffer because of the things u do. So if u dont want to suffer just live life God
@@mktherapper6506 What I wonder to The full most is Why couldn't The God of The Bible have just programmed His creation so to speak with Perpetual Perfect Nature plus Free Will from The Start??? For an example if tech designers can make and design computerized phones Then The God of The Bible SHOULD have The Power to do infinitely better. I am 36 years old by the way, Black American male.
From an old joke: a man Asus God how he experiences a minute? God answer "like a million years". Then the man asks God for a million dollars. God answers "sure, do you have a minute ?"
+Enoch Hart well as we know God is omnipotent meaning in all places and all times so he is not bound by time such as years or days. So I think the purpose of God saying he rested for one day would be for him to say he rested for one day, there would be no reason to tell us it was 1 day if he himself isn't constrained by time!
Why do catholics do the opposite to what the bible says? E.g. not to worship idols, not to call anyone father but him, no insence, only God can forgive. Yet catholics worship idols, and even worship another human (Mary), they have a man in the church they call Father and he thinks he can forgive sin (he is not God), they have lots of incense etc etc.
@@liveonce2102 former Catholic atheist here- Catholics don’t worship Mary or the saints. They ask for their intercession to God. They also don’t believe priests forgive sins. They believe that God works through the priests to forgive sin. The priest isn’t doing the forgiving, he’s there as a listener. Even Catholic priests are supposed to go to confession.

Let's start a new religion, where we worship Bacon or something. I'd much rather have something great as my creator rather than an egotistical homocidal maniac.
The phenomenon of your existence is fun to belittle I guess...? Why should God reveal himself to someone who doesn't care to learn anything? You reject people telling you that you are worth more, and don't want to find out more about that possibility? God doesn't force anyone against their will. You're loved, but if you want to keep thinking you're nothing, it is your freedom. But I hope you look to every good example in life , to see that it's worth living for, and worth finding out more about why you are here... If you truly would want to know the truth, and not have your heart and mind twisted in the opposite direction. There are spiritual implications to our choices, even if you aren't aware God exists.
lol, that is the saddest comment ever... I guess you don't live on an orb in an amazing universe, nothing phenomenal to be seen, move right along. Too incredible for there be an intelligent creator, especially with such ungrateful creations. Oh wait, freewill. You are free to believe in the flying spaghetti monster and remain ignorant :D Have fun with that.
Yeah, but you don’t do that by believing in a god written by satanists. Make becoming a better person your goal and you’ll understand the real “god”, not the twisted one written by dark forces.
God wants us to have reasons for our faith, not believe blindly. 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man who asketh you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
I'd rather be in hell with Einstein that in heavens with Hitler, rapist priests, etc. But, since there's no evidence of such place, I might just enjoy a beer or two.
Plus, as christians say, you just have to "accept jc" to enter heavens, then anyone is entitled. Just repent in the last sec and you are good, no matter how massive the trail of destruction you left behind is.
Hey Larry, I think that's a valid statement and an unfortunate one. I am a Christian and I absolutely think that people should ask questions. I will also say that many of the questions asked and responses given are genuinely good ones. I will say personally that I have a lot of questions on why God operates the way he does and I just don't get it sometimes. I have trouble with that.
The real question is, how can you still be religious if you are acknowledging that questions are important, when you're saying you yourself sometimes can't understand why something happens. Sounds like you might become an atheist after all.
Illyasviel von Einzbern because no one can understand what God does after all God is infinitely more wise than us human comprehension isn’t possible. God just wants us to have faith in him
I have a few questions of my own regardless of whether it is the Christian God or not. Why did you create this universe? How did you create this universe? Why don't we get to choose if we want to be born in this life or not? Why are we here? What is our purpose? Why must we die? What, if anything, lies beyond death? Are we our whole body? Are we just our brain? Are we the energy that moves, contracts, and expands the muscles? Are we a soul? If that is the case, what is a soul? What are we. Are we this body or is it just a shell for something completely separate that we just so happen to have bodily control of? If reincarnation exists, do our personalities carry over from past lives? I could literally write an entire freaking 500 page book if I could only do a ~20 minute interview with him/her/it.
Goose bumps are a very poor argument, they help with communication for example. They also have some effect at increasing the boundary layer, even in modern humans.
I always had only one question for Christians: Why is nobody able to present any proof, any convincing arguments or even a single rational argument for this or that god to be more real than all the countless other gods?
To answer your question The proof you demand must conform to your worldview which inconveniently makes it impossible for God to exist so no arguement can ever satisfy you There's 100+ arguments and many other religions why don't you debunk them all for me and convince me religion makes no sense Atheism in general cannot justify morality
@@Alex-yr8iy If you can prove something, worldviews are irrelevant, because you could demonstrate that what you believe is correct. I think it´s more than obvious that nobody can prove the existence of a god or even anything supernatural at all. It would be in all the news and people like James Randie would pay you millions of dollars. So forget about proof, the same goes for convincing evidence. After 30 years of asking theists for convincing evidence and none ever presented i am also fairly sure that no such thing exists, that leaves you theists with nothing but arguments for your gods to be real, and you still fail to even come up with a single rational one. Can you really not see how unreal ridiculous you sound when you keep claiming that there are even hundreds but you are not able to present one, not even a single one? Ok, you mentioned morality, so let´s debunk that. We evolved as a social species, like most species have, that haven´t gotten extinct, because it is beneficial for survival. And we are intelligent, so we understand that when we do not like to get punched in the face, other people don´t like that as well, so we do not run around punching other people and they do the same and we can all live in peace. Not so complicated and not even you need an ancient book or a god to tell you that. But on the other hand, you tell me what is moral? Is it moral to kill people for working on the sabbath? Killing girls for having sex before marriage? Killing gays? Having slaves? Killing children for calling a bold man bold (2.kings2)?
The ultimate question: Why would God create some of us with brains that would doubt his existence and then torture us for eternity for the brain that he gave us?
@@kadensmith2935we cannot chose a path that has already been preconceived. We are merely following a script that his mind already created. Secondly god created us in his own image, which means that all of this, everything is him. Because of him.
@@kadensmith2935 fym deserve the consequences? I am an agnostic (neither a believer nor disbeliever), and what is morally wrong about not believing something with no evidence? It's simple fucking logic how is it a sin?
I am an atheist myself but I know the answer to the "send Jesus" question. An answer a smart christian would give: Jesus is the archetypal hero. Jesus is the one figure we can all look up to. Jesus is the man every Christian should be like. He is ideal, he is the ultimate model. At least in the christian doctrine anyway. So sending Jesus would make perfect sense. Not only can god forgive the people through sending his son but he also provides an archetypal story, an archetypal hero for the people to look up to and to strive to be like. What do you think? Does this make sense?
Actually, the answer an intelligent Christian would give is, "You're right. This religion makes no sense after at all." It's an entertaining little story and all, but we don't live in a story. We live in reality, and in reality, it makes absolutely no sense for a god to punish or reward a species for being exactly the way he designed it to be.
Anicetus Caesar That is spot on, humans do look to other humans as inspirations (easy examples would be good parents) and having a person who made a sacrifice for the sake of the species that caused him harm gives inspiration to people. There are other aspects to it but you explained the brunt of it rather well, great job. Since you gave your religious stance I'll give mine, I'm a devout Catholic and I do commend you for representing a good Christian perspective as well as you did.
Ultimate model who said slaves obey your masters and defended all that Old Testament nonsense? Nice try, but we've clearly evolved better role models since then. You'd think a supreme being would have known that.
Q 2. All animals are related and descend from a common ancestor. This is why they appear to be related, they are. This is not inconsistent with biblical views on origins, it is of course inconsistent with the rubbish talked by young earth creationist, who force their own agenda for their own deluded reasons.
I'm planning on making some semi-regular videos talking about books I've been reading and a brief summary of what they cover, as long as it's something that people would want to see :)
I picked up a copy of 'Letter To A Christian Nation' after you suggested it. I am surprised I haven't read it before. Received it yesterday, half way through. You are right, it's very good.
The why would god allow the devil to exist..that Question at 10 yrs old got me to start my journey towards becoming an agnostic/Athiest. .it's immoral to punish us (assuming it's true that he exists which likely he doesn't ) for our imperfect nature, deprive us from knowledge..he created us this way..sounds like a capricious office temp with a bad attitude as George Carlin said lol.. Lastly, it seems like it's a twitter competition between god and the devil to see who has the most followers..lol .this likely is all bs..
The one who will not use the rod hates his son, but the one who loves him disciplines him diligently. Proverbs 13:24 HCSB So if God is listing to his own wisdom discipline comes out of love, and I still don't understand why people think they can tell God what is moral and isn't moral he made me and owns me he's the Potter and im his clay if he doesn't like the jar of clay when he is done with me he can throw me out if he so chooses! But who are you, a mere man, to talk back to God? Will what is formed say to the one who formed it, “Why did you make me like this? ” Or has the potter no right over the clay, to make from the same lump one piece of pottery for honor and another for dishonor? And what if God, desiring to display His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience objects of wrath ready for destruction? And what if He did this to make known the riches of His glory on objects of mercy that He prepared beforehand for glory - Romans 9:20-23 HCSB This basically sums it up perfectly he has every right over us and we have no right over him. But even though he does have every right over us he still chose for some reason to come to earth and endure suffering here just FOR US TO BE FORGIVEN like the God of the intire universe decided he wanted to come down here and die so that everyone who believes might go to heaven. When you look at it in that way it starts to show how truly loving God is for even letting us live, much less giving us a chance for forgiveness, and even less than that one that I don't even have to do anything good or bad to receive its just a gift and he gave it to us all I have to do is say thanks and open the box XD hope maybe that helps \:D/
Regarding the point about "why did God make all animals appear to be interrelated", I assume creating an animal is like creating a computer program. He probably started off with one, and rather than start again from the ground up, He reused the code and made slight modifications, in much the same way that EA and Ubisoft do with all their games. Although I think with the platypus he got lazy and just copy/pasted from Stack Overflow.
The idea that the common structures in animals point to a common ancestor is called Structural Homology. This at one time seemed like great evidence for evolution, but if these similar anatomical structures pointed to a common ancestor, then why doesn’t it show up on the genes of these animals with similar features? Michael Denton, in the book Evolution: A Theory in Crisis, says “The evolutionary basis of homology is perhaps even more severely damaged by the discovery that apparently homologous structures are specified by quite different genes in different species…With the demise of any sort of straightforward explanation for homology one of the major pillars of the evolution theory has become so weakened that its value as evidence for evolution is greatly diminished.” Just something I learned from my Biology book.
I agree that it's a good idea to read books on biology, as I find books have a far higher information content. Have you ever read Aaron Yilmaz's book "Deliver Us from Evolution? A Christian Biologist's In-Depth Look at the Evidence Reveals a Surprising Harmony Between Science and God" by Aaron Yilmaz. Yilmaz is an evangelical Christian who is also trained in evolutionary biology. He has both a B.S. and an M.S. in Biology.
I do not have responses to all of the answers, however as a Christian I have asked many of these myself and some I had not heard. I would like to start by saying that if we had all of the answers. There would be no need for faith. So I’m order for the Bible to be true, you can neither disprove God, nor prove him. And these are the conclusions I have come to for the questions I have asked: 1.) why would God create the rest of the universe. To showcase his size and power, so that we might understand that he could love something so small and that he is so much bigger. 2.) why would God create all of the animals out of the same building blocks as if they evolved from one another? I hadn’t heard this question before, but I have thought about evolution, and how we can prove adaptation and not direct evolution from species to species, I think that if all dogs came from one type of dog it makes it more plausible that Noah could fit the animals on the arch 3.) male nipples…. Yeah I don’t know man. 4.)Why did God not begin with Noah and his family? This one is a complicated question, but if it began with Noah and his family, and sin hadn’t entered into the world, and no corruption had happened, Noah would just replace Adam, and I believe the cycle would just repeat 5.) why has God appeared to so few people and why not again today? Well for starters we don’t know that he hasn’t appeared today, certainly he hasn’t to me, but in the Bible when he appeared it was only to few people. He appeared to those who were faithful to him and who he called to do work. And I think that this again would defeat the purpose of faith if he showed himself to everyone. 6.)why is the command to have no other God before him first? If you are truly worshiping God, and no other “gods” (a biblical idol is anything coming before God) then you would follow his commands, it’s very cyclical, but this command is first because the more you come to know God the more you want to obey. 7.) why satan? This one is a difficult question and it’s one that I don’t have a certain answer to. The Bible isn’t clear on the origin of evil, maybe it’s a faith thing, maybe it’s because the Bible isn’t about evil. It’s clear where humans fell, it’s clear that the world is impure now. But it never gives a clear origin for satan, some say that he fell from heaven, some say that he too has always existed and that in order for God to be good evil has to exist too. But I don’t have an answer. 8.)why did God harden pharaohs heart and then punish him for it? This one is tough too, I have an answer but I’m not a fan of it. God created pharaoh, and Paul sort of answers this in Roman’s when he said “does not the potter have the right over the clay” on this very topic. God created pharaoh, and it may seem sick to think that he just used him like that, however, if the end goal is to provide a lineage that would allow salvation and allow people to enter heaven and to come to Christ, and also to form the Bible exactly how it is, then it makes sense. I think the Bible has a number of questions like this to test faith. 9.) why Jesus? This one is my favorite I think because I enjoy conversations that are deep and this question is. So the Old Testament is a clear picture of what humans are capable of on their own. They are constantly messing up and sinning, Gods chosen people who some of which have seen God or directly lived through miracles. They were not enough on their own, and they have a sinful nature and they could not earn their own forgiveness nor pay for their sins. Which your argument is “why didn’t he just forgive them” which is fair until you realize that they kept sinning and sinning and without correction or divine intervention forgot about God entirely and his own people at times even sunk into things like sacrificing children. So God sent his son and paid a price proving his love and showcasing who He is. Jesus was not only the payment for our sins but a picture of what Gods people should look like. Showing us that you should care for others and that you should be loving and forgiving and kind and patient. He walked a perfect life and also cleared up a lot of Old Testament misunderstandings when people had mixed tradition with the commands of God which is still done today This is super long and probably nobody will read it but I hope it helped anyone who was wondering what a Christian perspective of these questions was.
Funny fact: If you have a Christian video with questions for atheists, you find all the questions answered countless times in the comment section. Never the other way around.
1º Why would God make atoms so small if we can’t even see them? Why would He make quantum laws if we can’t even understand them? Why would He make mathematical physics if He could just control everything by magic? - These types of questions actually display the character of God, rather than question His existence or our place in Creation. He is a God of unfathomable detail and order and creativity. He is not like a trite artist, who frames His masterpiece as the center of the image; but a genius who gives amazing levels of attention and detail to every law that governs every atom of every galaxy. 2º The universe is not older than 6000 years, the universe was created 6000 years according to the Bible, when Adam was created, it is his first day he was a 30-year-old man, but he lived only one day. "Why would God created all animals with the same fundamental building blocks" I don't why God created all animals with the same fundamental building blocks, i believe it is the signature of God "Why would God be wiping out the majority of the human species" Because he gave us free will, free will means that we are responsible for our own actions, if God did not create people because he knew they would sin, we would not have free will. This is proof that even knowing that you will sin he still gives you the opportunity. "Why the commandment of worshiping God is above of the commandment of not to murder" Because not worshipping God is a worse sin than murder "Why would God allow satan to exist" Because he gave us free will, and how can we have free will if we only have one side to chose. "Why God had to sent his son, for us to be forgiven" He can, but he is just, and if someone commits a crime, and is not punished, how can that be just, then God sent his Son to pay for our sins. "Why dont u subscribe" Because u have horrible arguments.
The video is called "Some Questions For The Christian God", I think that explains it. Some people enjoy ant farms, and children also seem to like dinosaurs, I think this god, or gods, also must have liked dinosaurs, as if they exist(ed) they played with them for millions of years. But like dinosaurs, bears are also cute and likable, unless your find then actually near you. Maybe you also wouldn't want thousands of ants crawling over you.
I believe god does exit can you explain this to who put us here and how are we here the universe actually started at one point and that one point is infinite. Science can’t make a baby science can’t make a eye. Science can’t explain why were here but god can. We’re here to worship him and he’s here to forgive us and watch over us. There is no evidence god exists and there no evidence he does while he’s there is actual physical Evidence next god does exist such as artifact form the time Jesus cam to earth. But my point is god is loving and god knows what he is doing
Bianca di Angelo ok hold on, look up the definition of hypocrite. It says a "person" that indulges in hypocrisy. God isn't a person; not saying that he's hypocritical but what I'm saying is hypocrite and God don't match up because God is not a person, God is a spirit. And second of all, to the human eye and editors / rewriters of the Bible may have changed up the words or rearranged words to make it seem complicated or difficult to understand in the human aspect of it. Third of all, you're not smarter than God you have nothing backing up why you think God is a hypocrite or as a synonym says, a "deceiver". The devil is known as a deceiver proving the fact that God is not a hypocrite since he is the OPPOSITE of a deceiver
@Quethr god learns just like us in the Old Testament there was a city that was just full of horrible people and god reach out to them not in the form of Jesus but any way possible such as a dream and angle or so on and told them I am your god and am here to help if you worship and listen to me we can fix this problem and no body did and they all had to face smite and that not in the form of lighting or a power like that it came form him casting things such as disease and accidents which got rid of there awful people who were murders and thief’s and so on. You probably don’t even know much about god but you just think he not real but he is trust me. He will forgive many and not to mention god said he would not do things like that again just remember the devil plays a role in earth to
#1 answer- To show how great and grand He is. His creation is beautiful and infinite because he is. #2 The Bible says that to God a hundred years is like a second and a second is like a hundred years. God isn’t affected by time because he exists outside of it. #3 same as above #4 God’s creation has order and is intellectually designed. If life on earth came by chance and as a result of random explosions and reaction then you might expect to see more sporadic genetic makeups #5 vestigial traits are somewhat rare and any of them could be explained by cause other than macro evolution such as micro evolution. #6 His justice is on display when he punishes the wicked. He would have wiped it Noah and his family because they are also sinners, but he showed mercy to them. This may not be ‘fair’ but it is just. See chosen by God by RC Sproul. I could answer the rest but I don’t have the time and I also doubt anyone will see this so I’m done. If you genuinely cared about knowing the answers to any of these questions you would have done the research instead of sounding condescending when asking the questions.
I'm not God, but I do believe I have some answers to your questions. I'm an Eastern Orthodox Christian, so this may not apply to others. 1. Earth is meant to be a seed. God made us so that we could go out and spread to the rest of the Universe and progress and slowly uncover it's endless wonders. I would say the reason the Universe is so inhospitable is the result of sin and death entering the world his Lucifer's Rebellion. 2. Because our God does not just want to "snap his fingers" and everything be done. The world he made isn't meant to be Static. It's Dynamic. There must be change. And the world is genuinely much more beautiful that way. When you realize it didn't just pop out of nowhere but was carefully planned, crafted and formed and has a long and amazing history, it makes it so much more beautiful. 3. See #2. 4. I don't deny Evolution. We do come from a Common Ancestor. But Humans were chosen by God to be representatives and welcomed into Eden. God gave us the choice on whether we wanted to be with him or leave Eden to define Good and Evil on our own terms. 5. Because not everyone one Earth came from one family. 6. Genuinely good question. God revealed himself to Israel because through them, he would save the entire world. The Father reveals himself to many people today through The Holy Spirit. But only those he desires to be revealed too will he be revealed too. 7. Coming before something does not mean something is more important. Each one is uniquely important and it's made clear breakage of any of them is bad. 8. It is by common sense a part of the commandment. 9. First off, God will not eliminate anyone. We have immortal souls and we were never meant to stop existing. Ever. This goes for spiritual beings as well. God gave Lucifer the Free Will to make his own choices. Humans also these choices. God has made it clear that bad things that happen are in fact tests put in place by him to bring all people and spirits closer to him. It is impossible to learn more about the world if you were only ever exposed to the good. 10. In the original Hebrew the story was written in, Pharaohs Heart was already hard the first 5 Plagues when God sent Moses. It's during the last 5, after God gave Pharaoh numerous chances, to step in and handle things his way. 11. First, God did not "Create" Jesus. Jesus IS God. Jesus is Eternally Begotten of The Father and is Eternally his Son. Second of all, this is Symbolic. Ancient Israelites saw Blood as a sacred liquid where Life itself was stored. Blood was so pure that it could soak up evil and sin and cleanse a person, hence, animal sacrifices in the OT. Jesus' Blood is the ultimate Blood because it's the literal Blood of God and can cleanse and forgive anyone. His sacrifice was meant to show us the consequences of what sin does, to soak up and cleanse the evil in our hearts and to show God's power by Jesus rising from the dead. 12. Oh wow yeah that's a really good one. Ya got me there.
If we're to spread to the rest of the universe then why make 99.99% of it impossible to reach? Even some of the stars we see today would be unreachable even if we got lightspeed travel tomorrow due to the expansion of the universe (which is only getting faster). If the reason was to give use somewhere to explore, why what billions of years when so much of it was out of reach? Why not make humans earlier? It's like being locked in a room and outside is the whole world, one that you will never be able to reach cause it's literally impossible to do so. This doesn't make sense to me, why pit so much of it out if reach if that were the case.
So god chooses who he reveals himself to? So that would mean that god also chooses who goes to hell? Why did god need to 0nly reveal himself to Israel to save the world? Is god not all powerful? Why not just reveal themselves to everyone? Why did over a thousand years worth of native Americans not hear about jesus and go to hell? Why rely solely on human word of mouth as the sole method of saving people? To me that kind of makes the whole jesus thing a bit pointless if it saves so few people. God's grand plan to save everyone fails at the first step if some people aren't saved for over a thousand years. What about those who live in isolated areas? Are they forever doomed? Why doesn't god just reveal himself to those people? That would have also have been amazing evidence for god if we'd landed in America or found a long isolated population and they independently came to the same religion. Weird how that never happened with any religion or god/s.
So god isn't all powerful then if he can't eliminate lucifer. Except free will can't exist with an all knowing god. Not to mention there is evidence against the existence of free will in both biology and physics, free will is a concept that has never been proven and could just be an illusion. Also isn't in job where satan can't act without god allowing it? But that was also written before the concept of an evil opposite to god was part of the religion (at that point satan was just a type of angel and there were many of them, the while evil boogeyman satan was a much later invention of Christianity). Bad things that happen are tests? So what is the test for a child who gets cancer? Or those starving due to famine? Or those who drown in floods? Or those dying of the many horrific diseases that god created? And how are they supposed to ask god for help if god hasn't decided to reveal themselves to them? So children need to die painfully and slowly so that I can experience the good things in life? A parent needs to lose one of their children to appreciate their other child? That is just ridiculous. Even if I accept the premise that you need bad to appreciate good there's still the problem of how much bad, you don't need starving diseased children to appreciate the good things in life. You could easily have some bad in the world without resorting to such extremes. For example I didn't need a global pandemic to appreciate being well, a common cold does that just fine.
Why did god matter about Jewish symbolism about blood. This doesn't really answer the question. If anything it shows that it's a made addition to the Jewish religion.
Hulian Sells Sandals, replace "God" with any other deity. For example, "We can't know everything, because if we knew everything, we would all be Thor, which means no ones Thor." Perhaps you can apply that to mythical creatures as well. "We can't know everything, because if we knew everything, we would all be the supreme unicorn, which would mean no one is the supreme unicorn." And no, this is not for disproving God. One cannot disprove God just like one cannot disprove anything that has no evidence. Unicorns, or time travel, etc. (not necessarily because of improbability, but simply because of lack of evidence.)
Yeah Alex. We'll see each other in hell. Reminds me of the last scene from "the unforgiven" where the sheriff, having been shot by Clint eastwood's character, says to him, "I'll see you in hell william munney" to which, william munney calmly but surely answers, "yeah". Another gem of a video. Keep it up!
Good questions I have oppinoins on some of them although if I may suggest my favorite humorous answer: "To keep scientists from getting bored" covers quite a few of them. Legit? no but I find it funny.
Question 4: God could’ve created any version of the universe that he wanted. He chose this version (according to some) because this universe, where free beings who will mostly go their own way exist, is the best one in which to produce real love which is the supreme ethic.
But if God wanted us to choose our own way via free will, why would He punish us for not choosing the one He prefers, in the form of Hell? If you're asked to turn right or turn left and get killed, do you really have a choice at all?
Well yes, you have freewill. Just like smoking and drinking, people choose to drink and smoke even though it killing him. We are not Puppets and god will not force anyone to come to him.he just telling you the truth in right or wrong and the end result.
I remember seeing a woman with cancer being interviewed by a reporter in a hospital. She says she believes that GOD will heal her. That there's nothing impossible with HIM. Then she followed it by asking the kind-hearted people for financial help because she can't afford the chemo therapy and the hospital fees. I was told by friends that I was mean when they saw me laugh, but that was hilarious.
Thanks to the information age and science that help the young generations understandable, reasonable and clever-able. We need more young people like CosmicSkeptic to change the world and the black hole minded.
18 For the [g]message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” 20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the [h]disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? Jesus died for your personal sins. And now is the time to repent. Worthy is the Lamb who was slain for the sins of the world.
"If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36 What a wonderful verse. *Anyone* who trusts Christ will be freed from sin, death, and Hell.
@@paolagrando5079 Make no mistake, we don't need help to be evil. We do evil of our own volition. The penalty for this is Hell(Revelation 21:8). Thankfully, God has a desire to save wretched sinners, like myself. That is why He sent His only Son to die on a cross to save us from our sin. You and I broke God's law but Jesus paid our fine. Then He rose from the dead, 3 days later, thus defeating death. "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. But whoever rejects the Son will not see life for God's wrath remains on them." John 3:36

also #WhyWouldGod punish adam and eve for disobeying him, when disobeying him is a sin, thus they werent able to know it was a sin before they ate of the tree, which god knew they would eat already.
+Alec Joseph Sheriff is right I believe that God's word is him speaking when jesus refers to the bible had "have you not read what was spoken to you" normally read goes with written and heard with spoken, but Jesus says read what was spoken meaning this is God's word that was actually said through people carried along by the holy spirit in written form. So yes I belive the bible litteraly when that was the intention of God and metaphorically when that was his intention. What someone means by their words is up to them not me, so I don't get to interpret I have to read it how it was intended!
+Alec Joseph Oh, so very Christian of you. I like that most of you theists just bury yourselves in a deeper hole the more you talk. You need to grow up because you can't speak to others without insulting and cursing towards them. That, along with your absolutely ignorant comment, have shown everyone reading this that you're an immature kid that has no idea to talk to others, and obviously can't think for themselves. Please, go and educate yourself, then come back and have a productive conversation that'll hopefully result in you learning to speak to others. I'd also like to add, Christianity is based upon a few separate things: The creation story, the life and death of Christ, and the concept of Heaven/Hell. Without believing those things literally, you aren't practicing Christianity, as defined in the Bible itself. Please, learn what you claim to be your own religion.
I go to a school that isn't officially a religious school, but about 90% of the students worship God in some way or form, I'm going to be bringing up a few of these "Why would God" questions to some of them. I was actually bullied for 3 years because I didn't go to church. My mother was angry but, unfortunately was powerless. I started to think that if God wanted for everyone to treat everyone else good, no matter what they believe in why was I being bullied for not going? I eventually watched more atheist fact videos and decided that I was an atheist. I could never tell my family because just about everyone on my dads side is/went to a catholic church, its not helping that my aunts a nun either. I know I'm a but late but I just wanted to thank you for helping me see what's actually going on in the religious world.
Malikin Kanin you're an atheist. God is reaching out to you and you don't let him in. God cares so much for you but u don't care for him and God never said no matter what you believe in. Wrong is wrong. God said he will take up all your vengeance just have faith in him and change your life
"Bullied for not going to church." You've missed the message here, Jayden. That is an incredibly sad yet hilarious statement on the immorality so often inherent in religious belief: terrible acts disguised as morality and "caring." Faith is a terribly unreliable path to the truth, as the faithful demonstrate every day.
1. Why would God make the rest of the universe inhabitable? We only need to live on earth. There is nowhere else we need to live. 2. Why would he make the rest of the universe? To give people (with their intelligence) things to do. Imagine if there wasnt black holes, stars, other galaxies to discover, what would the scientists who have the capacity to discover these things do? They'd be bored. 3. Why would God wait 9 billion years to create the earth? Probably time to plan each of us. 4. Why hasnt God appeared since? He has sent his mother a lot of times. Namely at Lourdes, Fatima, Garambandal and most recently Medjugorje. He has made it crystal clear of his existence, his love for all people (and animals) and his desire for every single one of his children to make it home to heaven. 5. Why would God order the commandments that way? No idea. 6. Why honour parents and not parents honour children? Parents being the older of the two should know this as it is. 7. Why doesnt God eliminate the devil? No sure on this one. God has greater power than the devil but they seem to live side by side ok. Maybe its a lesson to all of us that if good and evil can co-exist, we should be able to as well. 8. Why did God send his son to earth? I personally think having God as one of us, who endured hardships and suffering like us means he can relate to us. Wtihout Jesus God cant ask for us to be holy because he hasnt done the hard yards. He could have forgiven the sin of man but chose to do it this way which is the best way imo.
1. God made the stars also as a display of his power. David said "When I consider the heavens, the works of thy fingers, What is man that you are mindful of him." Asking why God created the rest of the universe is like asking DaVinci why he painted the Mona Lisa. What purpose does the Mona Lisa serve? 2. God did not wait a billion years to create anything. Time constraints are a human problem. To God, who exists outside of time. a thousand years is no different than a day. 3. Asking why God created animals with the same fundamental building blocks is like asking DaVinci why are the brush strokes in his paintings so similar. Any detriments to humans and animals occurred after man fell into sin and allowed the devil to corrupt creation. 4.So you want God to only create people who will do what he wants. That defeats the purpose of creating free thinking creatures. If people cannot choose to serve God then they are not free thinking. 5. The dwindling of faith across the globe is all in your head. There are 54 million Christians in China alone and it is estimated that by the 2030's there will be more Christians in China than in the rest of the world combined. The manifestations of God to people like Moses and Abraham just that, manifestations. No man can look on God in his fullness and live. The manifestations of God continue even today. People who seek him, find him. 6. If you are not going to worship God then you may as well steal and kill and commit adultery. The only way to eternal life is through a relationship with God. Instructions on how to have a relationship with him are not ego, they are life saving.7. The commandments are fulfilled in Christ. Paul instructs father's in Ephesians 6 v 4 to not provoke their children to anger and resentment. Rather train them in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.8. God created the angels to be free thinking individuals. Free thinking comes with the understanding that individuals might make bad choices. If God only made angels that would be obedient to him that would be ego. The time of the Devil's elimination is already set. For humans it may seem like a long time away but to God, who exists outside of time, it may as well be tomorrow. 9. Still harping on the Pharaoh? Read how many time Pharaoh agreed to let the people go only to renege on the deal when the plague was removed. His on actions pointed to the fact that he had no intention of letting the people go.10. God did not create a son The Son was God in the flesh. Why did God die to pay for the sin of humanity? Because that's how much he loved the world. Jesus didn't HAVE to be tortured and crucified, he CHOSE to suffer and die so that humanity wouldn't have to. And finally, I'm not subscribed because I'm not an atheist. (Look at that, all your questions were already answered in the bible.)
wawuglio In ancient times, the Pharaoh was viewed as a god and was worshipped as such. God hardening Pharaoh’s heart was basically to show that this “god (pharaoh)” that was worshipped couldn’t even protect his own heart. God was showing the Hebrews and the Egyptians that He was greater than Pharaoh.
@@riolopez4079 I agree with that. Pharaoh initially challenged God by asking "Who is this God that I should obey him?" Still, that doesn't change the fact that Pharaoh agreed to let the people go, multiple times and then reneged on the deal when the plague was over.
My guess is that maybe god isnt so powerful. Maybe god could just create the "big bang" the begining of everything, and then he could only just sit back and watch what happens. Maybe he is all knowing but not all doing. Kind of like a seer. Maybe my imagination it just too big. Also I am so happy with how much your profile has grown. You are truly inteligent and I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.
+rose obsidian Most of the founding fathers of the United States were likely deists, if not actually atheists. Jefferson, especially, was deist at a minimum.
I have a former significant other who was shocked when I pointed that out to her. When I told her that the US wasn't founded on Christianity or any religion, a point which my dad and I have been arguing over the last year or so, she tried asking me where then did we get in god we trust and one nation under god. That's when I told her about Eisenhauer and 1954. Then I went on to point out that many of the Founding Fathers weren't even Christians and that even those who were didn't want the new land to be based on one religion because they were all well aware of the dangers that poses. But whereas I absolutely reject Christianity and all the other mainstream religions I could actually accept Deism as being at least reasonably possible.
If god is omnipotent, then he has the ability to force himself to forget something, but if he is omniscient, then he can't forget something because he knows everything.
If god is omnipotent, then he has the ability to force himself to not be on the sidewalk, but if he is omnipresent, then he can't not be on the sidewalk because he is always everywhere.
That's a logical contradiction. God cannot contradict Himself or logic. How can God make a square circle? A circle is a closed figure that's round, so it can't be square. That would be a contradiction because now, it's not a circle. That doesn't mean God isn't all-powerful, but He can't contradict Himself. If God is all-knowing, how can He forget? That's a logical contradiction. Asking an all-knowing God to forget doesn't make sense if He knows all. The question itself doesn't make sense.

Here's a request from an evangelical born again Christian that was once a hardcore Atheist like yourself. Try explaining "the cosmological constant" (which proves without a doubt intelligent design by odds against any other alternative in the trillion trillions). All top physicists as of yet are turning towards intelligent design. I come from a family of science (Dad is lead Stanford University laser experiments/Help build fusion reactors and accelerators, Mom works for Argonne National Lab). And you can't run to a bandaid theory to support your flawed hypothesis like multiverse. The discovered weight of the Higgs points away from that theory, which cops out with an outlandish theory stating trillion slot machines in a trillion parallel universes and our particular universe hit the zillion dollar jackpot for a balance of conditions in the universe which otherwise we'd be destroyed. The evidence is against you young British lad. Jesus is Lord.
Wow. Virtually none of your science claims are accurate. On the off chance that you are not just a troll (actually, I had to look twice to see whether this comment was from Ken M) ... 1. The cosmological constant is not yet well understood in physics. "I don't know" does not imply "God did it." In this case, it's still a topic of research. 2. "All top physicists" are turning toward ID? Can you name 5? 3. The multiverse concept comes primarily from string theory, which as yet can't be tested. At this point, it is by no means accepted physics. 4. The discovered mass (not weight) of the Higgs boson is quite close to the value predicted by the Standard Model. The boson was predicted in the 1960's. It took until this decade until the technology existed to detect it. 5. The "fine-tuning" argument has been widely discredited. For a thorough discussion, see the book "The Fallacy of Fine-Tuning: Why the Universe Is Not Designed for Us" by Victor J. Stenger. Edit: A summary of his arguments: www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyatheist/2014/09/09/the-problem-with-the-fine-tuning-argument-an-excerpt-from-victor-stengers-last-book-god-and-the-multiverse/ A quick web search on any of these topics will supply supporting information.
Lets see. Science isn't perfect and is still a lot we don't understand about our universe and what we think we know may be flawed or straight up wrong. Actually, majority of physicists are atheists, and the number of atheist physicists is ever growing, so, either you were lied to, you're lying or you're looking at a list of physicists throughout history, then yes, most believe in a God of some description, because most of them died before the theory of evolution was brought to the main stream of science. Also, a true atheist can not become a "born again" Christian. Either you were brain washed, or you were never an atheist to begin with. An atheist becoming a Christian is like saying, yeah, I read Harry Potter once, didn't like it, but after reading a few hundred more times I think I can actually get into station 9 3/4 if I find it, then I can hop on the train to Hogwarts.
[Also, a true atheist can not become a "born again" Christian.] Well, let's not commit the "No True Scotsman" logical fallacy. ("A Scotsman would never do that." "McTavish does it." "Och, he's nae a true Scotsman!") Consider C. S. Lewis. He was a pretty hard-core atheist. One day he had a sudden revelation (or maybe a min-stroke -- the symptoms are similar), and became a leading Christian apologist. Look him up. Of course, you often hear committed Christians saying how they used to be atheists, by which they mean only that they once had doubts, or once read a book about atheism. But for purposes of argument, I'm willing to take Skonicki at his word.
Why would a loving God send unbelievers to hell for eternity when a person has a window of opportunity to accept Jesus in a rather short amount of time?
Noah was there to warn you that you are headed for destruction due to your sin and disobedience to God. He loved you so much, He sent a very strong warning to you. (And yes, He loved those people as much as He loves you, but they would not love Him in return.)

1. Because the entire universe is fine tuned so that it is habitable for us to live in. For God, matter, space and time are not limited, so there is no benefit to him to try and make the universe smaller. He made it as it is, and he did it how he saw fit. It's entirely ignorant and arrogant to try and suggest that you know how to create a universe better than he does. You are not an infinitely powerful being. 2. Because God exists outside of time. He's not waiting at all. 9 billion years is no time at all to him. 3. same answer 4. Because he created a working eco system on a planet. Does it not make sense for a working eco system to have common building pieces? Worked out pretty well didn't it? 5. Because evolution does occur, creationists just argue to a much lesser extent, they don't believe macro evolution is real. 6. Because he had to give man the choice of tasting knowledge and knowing right and wrong. He couldn't have started with Noah to do that. 7. He appears to who he wants to appear to, who are you to say who he should appear to? 8. Because men who glorify and worship God will not murder or steal. And because he is worthy of all possible praise, the dude created the universe and is the only purely good being in existence. 9. Because parents need to be the authority, children can respectfully disagree with a bed time, doesn't mean they don't need one. 10. God allowing satan to exist does not make God malicious, that's a huge leap. God allows satan to exist because he has given us free will. There cannot be good without the possibility of bad. He wants us to chose to be with him willingly, therefore, there is an alternative that allows you to be separated from him, and that is where Satan is. 11. He can eliminate the devil, I refer you back to my previous answer. 12. Because he was making an example of a man who refused to fear and obey God. This is just. 13. God had to send Jesus down in order to forgive us because he is just. For him to simply forgive us for our sins would be unjust, because we are not paying the price for what we deserve. God is just, so the price must be paid, but God is also loving, so he paid it for us to show us his love. 14. I am :) Well those were pretty easy I'm not going to lie, and I'm not even Christian lol. Your answer to Question 2.) is illigical. Its impossible to be timeless just like you cant make a circle with one ending, or God cant make a stone so heavy so he couldnt lift it
@@manofgod7622 Right. "Its impossible to be timeless" - How do you know that? Let me be clear, when I say timeless I mean God is supposedly not affected by the time we experience. He existed before it, and created it, so he is not affected by time. You say that's impossible, how do you know? You just assert that based on what you think, you haven't given me any reasoning whatsoever. Picture a comic book, when I read the events, I can see the chronology of how they occur, but the time that occurs in the comic book does not affect me. A day passing in the comic book is not a day passing for me, and I can read the event in any order I want, there is no present because I can open any page up and read, so the entire comic book is really occurring to me simultaneously as I can read it at any point I chose. "you cant make a circle with one ending" - I don't understand what you mean by this, I also fail to see how naming something you think is impossible means God cannot exist outside time. The stone thing is a silly thing to say, God doesn't have hands like we do, so using a human metaphor like that is pointless. The challenge is simply a contradiction anyway.
Eric Jeffrey well you say some shit but dont answer my question. God cant be timeless because its impossible. Thats the reason, it is just illogical and it cant work, period
@@manofgod7622 I did answer you lol. I quoted you and refuted everything you said. "God cant be timeless because its impossible" - You don't know that. Who the fuck are you to decide what the limits on an omnipotent God are. You're an arrogant idiot. Whatever existed before time existed exists outside of time, that's logic. You calling something you have no knowledge on impossible is not logic. Lastly, you didn't ask me a question. You made a dumb statement.
Eric Jeffrey -___- You cant be timeless and thats not because I SAY THAT but because it just cant work, ITS ILLOGICAL. If yoi still dont get it watch a video “God of paradox”
Some responses: 1) You say 'why would God bother' creating an almost entirely empty universe which implies that doing so is a hinderance. But God is omnipotent and therefore not at all limited by space. If I ask a builder, why did you build a massive castle, only a tiny portion of it which will ever be used, I'm saying that he's taking up precious space and wasting his time for something unnecessary, but none of these characteristics apply to God. It is no harder for God to create an almost empty universe as it is for him to create a self-sufficient earth. 2) God is timeless, so in the same way it wasn't that God was around for a while, and then, one day, he decided to create the universe, God didn't, one day, decide to create the earth. Much like how God isn't limited by space, he's also not limited by time. He can simply actualise all time at once. That's why he can know what we're going to do even if we have free will. 3) No, I'm not a young earth creationist, so I think humans evolved, but again, I've already kind of answered this objection. If God just created everything in an instant, rather then using the naturalistic process of evolution, although he absolutely could do this, it would leave humans nothing in the world to study. Furthermore, it would give us less assurance that we are the final part of God's creation. With evolution, we can understand that, since humans have civilised such that more intelligent people will have no more or fewer children than less intelligent people, even biologists like Richard Dawkins doubt that humans will majorly evolve further. There can still be variations in human species, since Neanderthals originated in Eurasia, rather than Africa, and existed long before humans did, but they were largely of the same intellectual capacity as homo sapiens are. 4) This really does have a creationist view of God. Under my understanding, animals can still be slow to adapt to their environment, and this doesn't really do much to discredit the existence of God. 5) I hold to a regional flood view, as does Michael Jones from InspiringPhilosophy, Gavin Ortlund from Truth Unites and many others, so this doesn't really apply to me. 6) God very deliberately appeared to a small, select portion of people. God has to keep himself hidden--if he revealed himself to everyone, that would undermine our free will. However, he has given all of us evidence for his existence, and Blaise Pascal beautifully sums it up by saying, 'There is enough light for those who only desire to see, and enough obscurity for those with a contrary disposition.' God will never rape someone's mind if they're resistant to him. The dwindling of faith we're experiencing is exactly why Jesus hasn't returned yet--the prophecies from scripture say that Israel must accept Jesus before he can return, and that he desires that no-one perish but that everyone come to him in repentance. You can watch InspiringPhilosophy's video on this: ruclips.net/video/IJ8bDbromtc/видео.html. 7) The commandments not to murder or steal require less explanation--everyone knows what that means. The commandments for how we should worship God require detailed laying out. 8) The ten commandments aren't an exhaustive list of commands--they're the very broad basics of morality. 9) No, God has no malicious intent for wilfully not eliminating the devil, but he wants us to be tempted to the point where we can freely choose to do the right thing, but not without struggle. For example, if I'm constantly being told by a friend to steal something, then I'll be tempted to do so, and thus my opportunity to resist temptation from this friend is only accessed with this temptation. 10) Maximal autonomy and free will are not synonymous. His hardened heart was not inevitable to his punishment. 11) No...wrong...sad. The sin of man had to be punished, but God, out of his omnibenevolence, died for our sins. Why couldn't God just forgive them, because that is logically contradictory, like a married bachelor. God will not let anything unclean enter the kingdom of heaven, and since we all fall short of God's standard, Christ's atonement bridges the gap between humans and god and makes us clean. Much like there is no such thing as a rock too big for God to lift, because God is, by definition, omnipotent, there is no heaven which can save a human without the atonement, because heaven is, by definition, not unclean in any way. In summary, God simultaneously wants a heaven for which the boundary is perfection, all of us to remain sinners in this life, and for people to be able to get there. Some of these questions have answers and others of these might seem strange, like the size of the universe, but if we remember God is not like a human with human limitations, who does things only if he has to, but powerful enough to do things that seem ridiculous to us. Quantum mechanics is kind of strange, as is God becoming man, as is all sorts of things, under a Christian worldview. The only supposed threat of things like this is that atheism would perhaps have less trouble explaining these things than Christianity, not that these things would be particularly great problems for Christianity, but, of course, many other naturalistic things appear to be better explained under a theistic worldview, such as the fine tuning of the constants or the genetic code, or the fact that the universe we live in appears to have begun and appears, under recent research in quantum physics, to be indeterministic. In conclusion, nice video, but you haven't converted me yet.
Good day Mr. CosmicSkeptic, I am a Christian and this is the first time I am watching your channel, I rather enjoy it to be honest. I however do not know whether or not you have in the last 4 years found your answers to these questions, but I assure you we have the answers to them. I must just give you the advice to not and try asking the wrong questions to a book which isn't its purpose to answer. For example: I cannot ask a book on biology about the substructures of a atom, nor can I ask the daily mail on how to build a machine which can make me a drink perfectly adjusted to my taste buds, and neither can I ask a feel good book on how to cure meningitis. I see your problems and dilemmas through the questions you ask. I would say that by doing better research and talking to professional academics you will see that we have faced and overcome these problems, but of course in order for you to understand what they say, you must understand the level of faith which has been granted to them, you must consider and really think. I hope I helped, I will be subscribing and liking the video.
If you had the capacity to "think" at all, you'd understand the deeper things of the cosmos. But no; you have to stick to the answer-less questions of the world and the narcissistic philosophies of man. Everything evolving from nothing, with no guidance and no purpose, is such a giant cop-out invented for the mushy-minded sheeple who just couldn't be bothered being accountable for their pathetic little lives and actions.
Jessica Jones I do have the capacity to evaluate and understand deeper things and the cosmos. It's you that have answer-less questions and a narcissistic philosophy. Flat Earth. Impossible Ark. Everything is from magic. Guidance and purpose from tales of murder, rape and incest. Killing innocent children is ok with your cult that was invented for mushy sheeple by sheep hearders. God works in mysterious ways is a good enough answer and people with pathetic little lives buy into. And back to narcissist thinking. Worship me. Give your life to me or suffer forever. That sounds pretty narcissistic to me. You worship a narcissist.
I'm fully aware of both explanations of near death experiences. I'm open to the possibility of an afterlife being just a hallucination, but if it's just a hallucination, how can it be explained that people who have been "dead" for a while come back and explain everything with perfect detail when they haven't been to that emergency room nor met the doctors and know every detail? (Yes I'm aware that certain "drugs" can produce a similar result. And yes I injured my back years ago and I was given a strong muscle relaxer and felt like I was "lite", but I was in my place on my bed.) I'm open to all explanations of why NDEs occur. It's possible that there's an afterlife. I believe in God. Why did God send his son to go through a brutal death for the forgiveness of sins? Jesus Christ was God in the flesh and never once sinned, but loved us so much that he was willing to pay the price for human sin. Yeah God could have just forgiven everyone's sin, but there's more to it than that. Jesus became that bridge for our sin nature so we can connect with God. I respect those people who don't believe because a lack of evidence. What kind of evidence would you need to experience or see that would get you to believe? Have you checked out archeological evidence of Jesus Christ? Peace, love and respect.
Most Near Death Experiences people have don’t line up with scripture . God can give people vision during near death experiences. But who knows the people who claimed to have died outside of a hospital actually were revived? Can God give people Vision during on the brink of death. Yes. New Research suggests that scientists may have actually near-death experiences are may actually be rooted in the brain by psychedelics. Their is no physical or archaeological evidence for Jesus, but the lack of archeological or physical evidence doesn’t mean a person doesn’t exist, it means the person has never marked the archaeological record. Their are historical documents proving the existence of him. Even if the honesty of the people who had these experiences can’t be doubted. These experiences should be viewed with skepticism. Who knows if they were extremely vivid dreams, hallucination, an actual experience , or even a Vision from God? Only the father knows. Near Death Experiences should be viewed skeptically and most importantly, Biblically.
Simple, God only cares for people that are USEFUL for his glory. Many people suffer for so long and then saves and keep other people in comfortable life just for these people in comfortable life to "fulfil" God's plan to "save" the needy. But doesn't hear the "needy's" prayers for help. He plays favorite
+Jake Holroyd Hey Jake sorry if this turns into a long winded answer but I'll try and keep it short as possible :) 1 we have to know why choice would exist in the first place, lets give an example of you loving a girlfriend/wife and loved them but they only loved you back because they have a button on the back if there head that makes them love you and you press it ever day its not the same kind of relationship as if she also has the choice herself to love you in return, the relationship wouldn't be nearly as special if you knew that whoever it was had no option but to love you, what makes it special is when you see that you love her and she loves you herself out of her own choice knowing that she actually cares because she chose herself to be with you! I think that's similar to how it works with God without him giving us choice he and us will never have as strong a relationship. On the flip side that also means we have the choice to reject sadly :/ and because of the fact we are not equals with God he has the right to give punishment for the things he calls wrong. Another great attribute of God however Is his forgiveness of our rejection when we rely on his sons death for our forgiveness, and if God is a forgiving God and wants to show us how cool that is there has to be something for him to forgive aswell XD. Hope that helps \:D/
chess osu I just don't understand why such a God would give us science through which we learn new things everyday, but when contradictory evidence comes along against the bible; what are we supposed to do?
+Jake Holroyd I think the best way I have to explain creation of the earth is that when you look at the creation of man you don't see Adam as an infant, im not sure if it mentions his exact age but he is definitely old enough to comprehend and have intelligent thought to name the animals and realize he messed up after he ate the fruit etc. So there is no reason to assume God created earth ad an 0 years and 0 days old earth so even If it has only existed 6000 years that doesn't mean it's "age" was 0 the day it was created!! hope that helps a bit
because Jake, some people use that free will to try and kill their creator, god himself, and to hurt the good people of this earth, you should be asking yourself why youre such a piece of shit and quit blaming your lord for it. also science has never debunked god and if you wanna say otherwise then give me an example, because both evolution and the big band does no such act to try and debunk god, only in your head it does.
1. Why not 2. Why not 3. Maybe making the universe was tiring and wanted to rest a minute. 4. Humans weren't to be made until after the animals and it took time for them to evolve 5. I got nothing, maybe because he wanted all life to be connected somehow 6. It can be explained through evolution. We have those traits because of our past ancestors. 7. To teach the world a lesson about what happens when faith is lost 8. There are people today who've followed for a while and has been given proof of existence (including me), but whenever they tell someone about their experience no one believes them. Why would he reveal himself to some snobby a hole who won't even bother to death for him? 9. Why would he not put himself over everything? That's like putting a friends needs over yours 10. Because disrespecting your kid isn't always a bad thing. Intervening in relationships, purposely embarrassing them. Those are disrespectful but not technically wrong. Even in today's laws kids don't have much rights so until that is changed you can't really complain 11. If malicious intent is how you see it than so be it. Satan is mostly used to test who is loyal and who isn't. Or maybe he doesn't have the power, I mean, he's never been know to kill off anything spiritual, just physical things. 12. Because he wanted us to learn a lesson 13. Because God doesn't change but people can so he made a person with a part of him in order to change but also to give a means of physical proof to man who doubted. 14. Because I'm not an atheist, bye
yes patrick, and we dont even know if god tends to other planets and aliens, so whats your point? Sunday is his day of rest, he is god, that doesnt mean you put expectations on god that don't exist, he made this planet in six days, he needed a rest, he did a damn good job.
I would love to answer all these questions. They are decent questions and they deserve an answer. I appreciate your calm tone and your respect. If you would like we could discuss these things over skype.
Physicist Richard Feynman summed it all up rather brilliantly when he said "It doesn't seem to me that this fantastically marvelous universe, this tremendous range of time and space and different kinds of animals, and all the different planets, and all these atoms with all their motions, and so on, all this complicated thing can merely be a stage so that God can watch human beings struggle for good and evil - which is the view that religion has. The stage is too big for the drama."
The way I believe is that without a God we wouldn’t be here having this conversation on these technological platforms and instead would expect at most a lifeless ball of dust and gas, even if it was in a vast universe. Actually not even a lifeless ball of gas but nothing, absolute nothing, not even space with no matter or energy. But since we are here, in this state, we are trying to come to an understanding of who this God is.
Answer: God works in mysterious ways
damn you got us all
Of course, God works in mysterious ways that man can't possibly hope to understand. The only things that we know for sure about Him are that he hates gays and loves it when we substitute medicine with prayer, so we should all just do those two things blindly!
That's not an answer, that's an assumption. But if it were, Why would god need to work in an inefficiënt way like that?
+Danny Maas Because you can't know why, because God works in mysterious ways (I don't believe, I'm just giving the stereotypical believers argument)
God is all powerful and all knowing, God knows what choice everyone is going to make ever. Like he said, what's the point it creating the first man and woman, then killing them and their decedents, all except for one of their grand sons and grand daughters?
Just wanted to say how honoured I am to have reached my first ever 200 dislikes on a video - I couldn't have done it without you guys
came here to ask why all the hate on this video? the others were nicely received.

Why would God make the path to himself "narrow", and the path to eternal damnation "wide"?
That's figurative language.
+An Luu I realize that, and the illustration means most people go down the wide path to damnation. So my question is why would God make the system such that most of his beloved creatures end up eternally separated from him, instead of eternally enjoying the beatific vision and basking in his love? It's pretty messed up.
when you are choosing a partner in life do you just accept any one? or do you try to find the best for you?
Casey just put it perfectly. Life is like a test. if you, yourself, a tiny incapable tiny human aren't able to believe in a power larger than yourself there's no point.
he created you, gives you life, happiness, makes you able to love. He isnt a partner, he is a god. I was using a metaphor to put it in simple terms. If you havent read the bible and put in the time to understand it then dont try to. You're as ignorant as people who try to write islam off as a violent religion. If you dont want to believe in god then dont. Why waste your time hating on what others believe in? Must be a very boring life.

How is the Virgin Mary a Virgin if she gave birth to Jesus?
Why does God not agree with abortion but hands out miscarriages like candy
My life In A Nutshell It’s people that don’t agree with abortion, not God. Remember, religion is run by mankind
Is there anything else about God that doesn't make sense to you?
Is there anything about gods that does make sense?
The fact that he's indistinguishable from unicorns, Santa, the tooth fairy and pixies, but people still treat the notion seriously?
Wouldn't it be incredibly boring for an omniscient god to create a universe, when he'd know everything that would happen down to the minutest detail?
Why did an omnipotent God command the Israelites to murder innocent men, women, children, and babies so his chosen people could live in their promised land? Why didn't this omnipotent God just snap his fingers and teleport all those innocent people somewhere else?
Deuteronomy 20-
10 When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace.

Why would god sacrifice god to god to make god happy to forgive gods creation
Because he loves us.
@bible Reader It's actually $200 to avoid going to jail. Unless you get a Community Chest card.
@@montrealstewart8148 Alternatively, he could just forgive us and skip the whole sacrificing himself thing. You'd think an omnipotent and all-knowing god would know how to do that.

Why did Jesus have nipples? Did he use them to breastfeed even though he can't since he is a man?
Rew Rose why would God give sexual characteristics in the first place if lust is a sin? And for that matter, why did he give guys foreskins? And then tell them to chop it off?
Liam Burr-Knight
it must be one of his infamous _mysterious ways~_

If that's true, then his "1 day's rest" from the 7 days of creation was what, a blink of an eye?
Says who? How do you know?
From an old joke: a man Asus God how he experiences a minute? God answer "like a million years". Then the man asks God for a million dollars. God answers "sure, do you have a minute ?"
+Jeremy Bitton No, his day of rest was most likely million or hundreds of thousand earth years. It was one day to God not people
+Enoch Hart well as we know God is omnipotent meaning in all places and all times so he is not bound by time such as years or days. So I think the purpose of God saying he rested for one day would be for him to say he rested for one day, there would be no reason to tell us it was 1 day if he himself isn't constrained by time!
Being a free thinking Catholic I appreciate this video! We should ask these questions! And open our minds to these ideas! Good to change your views!

Hey Larry, I think that's a valid statement and an unfortunate one. I am a Christian and I absolutely think that people should ask questions. I will say personally that I have a lot of questions on why God operates the way he does and I just don't get it sometimes. I have trouble with that.

He didn't create you like this, you chose to be an aethist, remember, free will. You chose to disobey God, and therefore deserve the consequences.
Why would God say that adultery is a sin, but Adam and Eve committing incest is not a sin?
I am an atheist myself but I know the answer to the "send Jesus" question. An answer a smart christian would give:
Jesus is the archetypal hero.
Anicetus Caesar yes your answer does make sense but only if attributable to a real person, not a mythical figure. I'm sure you'll agree.

Absolutely....I am always fascinated by what people read. :)
I picked up a copy of 'Letter To A Christian Nation' after you suggested it. I am surprised I haven't read it before. Received it yesterday, half way through. You are right, it's very good.
I would be down for some book recommendations.
Great idea.

Proverbs 13:24 HCSB
So if God is listing to his own wisdom discipline comes out of love, and I still don't understand why people think they can tell God what is moral and isn't moral he made me and owns me he's the Potter and im his clay if he doesn't like the jar of clay when he is done with me he can throw me out if he so chooses! And what if He did this to make known the riches of His glory on objects of mercy that He prepared beforehand for glory -
Romans 9:20-23 HCSB
This basically sums it up perfectly he has every right over us and we have no right over him.

💀I’m genuinely curious after 8 years if anybody has answered his questions
Regarding the point about "why did God make all animals appear to be interrelated", I assume creating an animal is like creating a computer program. He probably started off with one, and rather than start again from the ground up, He reused the code and made slight modifications, in much the same way that EA and Ubisoft do with all their games. Although I think with the platypus he got lazy and just copy/pasted from Stack Overflow.
OK I'll give it a go ..... could it be that he doesn't exist ?
impossible
NOPE. God doesn't exist. 😐
He has both a B.S. and an M.S. in Biology.
Heaven doesn't want me and Hell's afraid I'll take over.
I really love your dry humor. It comes at unexpected moments.
I do not have responses to all of the answers, however as a Christian I have asked many of these myself and some I had not heard. I would like to start by saying that if we had all of the answers. There would be no need for faith. So I’m order for the Bible to be true, you can neither disprove God, nor prove him. And these are the conclusions I have come to for the questions I have asked:
1.) why would God create the rest of the universe.
To showcase his size and power, so that we might understand that he could love something so small and that he is so much bigger.
2.) why would God create all of the animals out of the same building blocks as if they evolved from one another?
I hadn’t heard this question before, but I have thought about evolution, and how we can prove adaptation and not direct evolution from species to species, I think that if all dogs came from one type of dog it makes it more plausible that Noah could fit the animals on the arch
3.) male nipples…. Yeah I don’t know man.
4.)Why did God not begin with Noah and his family?
This one is a complicated question, but if it began with Noah and his family, and sin hadn’t entered into the world, and no corruption had happened, Noah would just replace Adam, and I believe the cycle would just repeat
5.) why has God appeared to so few people and why not again today?
He walked a perfect life and also cleared up a lot of Old Testament misunderstandings when people had mixed tradition with the commands of God which is still done today
This is super long and probably nobody will read it but I hope it helped anyone who was wondering what a Christian perspective of these questions was.
Funny fact: If you have a Christian video with questions for atheists, you find all the questions answered countless times in the comment section. Never the other way around.
1º
Why would God make atoms so small if we can’t even see them? Why would He make quantum laws if we can’t even understand them? Why would He make mathematical physics if He could just control everything by magic?
-
These types of questions actually display the character of God, rather than question His existence or our place in Creation.
He is a God of unfathomable detail and order and creativity. He is not like a trite artist, who frames His masterpiece as the center of the image; but a genius who gives amazing levels of attention and detail to every law that governs every atom of every galaxy.
2º
The universe is not older than 6000 years, the universe was created 6000 years according to the Bible, when Adam was created, it is his first day he was a 30-year-old man, but he lived only one day.
"Why would God created all animals with the same fundamental building blocks"
I don't why God created all animals with the same fundamental building blocks, i believe it is the signature of God
"Why would God be wiping out the majority of the human species"
Because he gave us free will, free will means that we are responsible for our own actions, if God did not create people because he knew they would sin, we would not have free will. This is proof that even knowing that you will sin he still gives you the opportunity.
"Why the commandment of worshiping God is above of the commandment of not to murder"
Because not worshipping God is a worse sin than murder
"Why would God allow satan to exist"
Because he gave us free will, and how can we have free will if we only have one side to chose.
"Why God had to sent his son, for us to be forgiven"
He can, but he is just, and if someone commits a crime, and is not punished, how can that be just, then God sent his Son to pay for our sins.
"Why dont u subscribe"
Because u have horrible arguments.
Using the Bible to answer questions about God? Circular much?
@@uspahle You question the biblical God and don't want to hear biblical answers?
@@vermilisix That's the point, it's called grace and love. Jesus did not deserve it, but He took our place.
So the question is #whywouldgod
The most probable answer is: Because he does not exist.

#whywouldgod Be so hypocritical in the Bible?
+Kid Sheldon The Devil doesn't justify his actions either, you know...
#3 same as above
#4 God’s creation has order and is intellectually designed. If life on earth came by chance and as a result of random explosions and reaction then you might expect to see more sporadic genetic makeups
#5 vestigial traits are somewhat rare and any of them could be explained by cause other than macro evolution such as micro evolution.
Q 3, vestigial organs can be much debated, however it is reasonable that there are some as atavisms from ancient ancestral species.
The belief in a deity gives the deity life, but only if the belief is there. The Thalmor know this. Poor Talos.
Alex I love what you are doing, keep it up brother! Thank you so much!
We are created with a will to chose what we want....
Obviously. But so what?
well yes but actually no

We can't know everything, because if we knew everything, we would all be God, which would mean no ones God.
When everyone's super.. no one will be...
+tejay108 😂
so when we know everything, we wont exist
Hulian Sells Sandals, replace "God" with any other deity. For example, "We can't know everything, because if we knew everything, we would all be Thor, which means no ones Thor."
Perhaps you can apply that to mythical creatures as well.
"We can't know everything, because if we knew everything, we would all be the supreme unicorn, which would mean no one is the supreme unicorn."
And no, this is not for disproving God. One cannot disprove God just like one cannot disprove anything that has no evidence. Unicorns, or time travel, etc. (not necessarily because of improbability, but simply because of lack of evidence.)
Hulian_Sells_ Sandals We wouldn't be God though.
Knowing stuff doesn't make you able to create universes

18 For the [g]message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the [h]disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
Jesus died for your personal sins. And now is the time to repent. Worthy is the Lamb who was slain for the sins of the world.

"If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36
What a wonderful verse. *Anyone* who trusts Christ will be freed from sin, death, and Hell.
But he "gave you sin" right at your birth. I find that silly.

Alec Joseph Actually, it's supposed to be taken 100% seriously. I guarantee that most Christians do believe in it literally. Also, grow up.
Harambe is the real God here
My guess is that maybe god isnt so powerful.
Keep up the good work.
you already know this i bet but what you described is deism. An idea that actually makes some sense, unlike christianity.
+Ryan “Skel” Wilson Thank you i did not know that was actually a belief.
No problem! ^_^
If god is omnipotent he can create a boulder which he can't lift... wait...

Stenger.
Edit: A summary of his arguments:
www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyatheist/2014/09/09/the-problem-with-the-fine-tuning-argument-an-excerpt-from-victor-stengers-last-book-god-and-the-multiverse/
A quick web search on any of these topics will supply supporting information.
Fuck you, defiling Christianity
Evangelicals aren't real Christians
[Also, a true atheist can not become a "born again" Christian.]
Well, let's not commit the "No True Scotsman" logical fallacy. ("A Scotsman would never do that." "McTavish does it." "Och, he's nae a true Scotsman!")
Consider C. S.
Love your videos. Especially your response videos. Very well spoken, keep it up
Why would a loving God send unbelievers to hell for eternity when a person has a window of opportunity to accept Jesus in a rather short amount of time?
Why would God reveal himself, to someone who is not searching?
Why wouldn't he reveal himself to someone who did search?
Funny... I was searching for seventeen years before I realized God was fictional. I kinda felt gullible once I accepted that.
For the record He's revealed himself to me

Noah was there to warn you that you are headed for destruction due to your sin and disobedience to God. He loved you so much, He sent a very strong warning to you. (And yes, He loved those people as much as He loves you, but they would not love Him in return.)

1. I made that comment because you said this on an atheistic video. Implying you believe atheists go to hell. So youre saying that not only are they sinners, but they deserve to go to hell too? How is that love?
2. Dont you believe in redemption? Can't god help sinners rather than torture them for eternity? Eternal punishment is without a doubt immoral and unjust.
3. same answer
14. I am :)
Well those were pretty easy I'm not going to lie, and I'm not even Christian lol. Alex you need to asses your assumptions more carefully, you make some wild claims.
Eric Jeffrey -___-
You cant be timeless and thats not because I SAY THAT but because it just cant work, ITS ILLOGICAL.
If yoi still dont get it watch a video “God of paradox”
Some responses:
1) You say 'why would God bother' creating an almost entirely empty universe which implies that doing so is a hinderance.

I'm open to all explanations of why NDEs occur.

Why would God give us free will, and when we use it, he then damns us to hell?
1. Why not
2. Why not
3. Maybe making the universe was tiring and wanted to rest a minute.
4. Humans weren't to be made until after the animals and it took time for them to evolve
5. I got nothing, maybe because he wanted all life to be connected somehow
6. It can be explained through evolution. We have those traits because of our past ancestors.
7. To teach the world a lesson about what happens when faith is lost
8. There are people today who've followed for a while and has been given proof of existence (including me), but whenever they tell someone about their experience no one believes them. Why would he reveal himself to some snobby a hole who won't even bother to death for him?
9. Why would he not put himself over everything? That's like putting a friends needs over yours
10. Because disrespecting your kid isn't always a bad thing. Intervening in relationships, purposely embarrassing them. Those are disrespectful but not technically wrong. Even in today's laws kids don't have much rights so until that is changed you can't really complain
11. If malicious intent is how you see it than so be it. Satan is mostly used to test who is loyal and who isn't. Or maybe he doesn't have the power, I mean, he's never been know to kill off anything spiritual, just physical things.
12. Because he wanted us to learn a lesson
13. Because God doesn't change but people can so he made a person with a part of him in order to change but also to give a means of physical proof to man who doubted.
14. Because I'm not an atheist, bye
Giving presumed explanation for all of these questions do not mean they are true answers.
"Maybe making the universe was tiring and wanted to rest a minute"
Lol Okay? XD
itsPatrickBoi He rested after making just earth so I don't understand how him resting after creating the universe seems far fetched
Jake Holroyd I'm aware, I'm just throwing out reasonable assumptions, kinda like a theory
yes patrick, and we dont even know if god tends to other planets and aliens, so whats your point?
Sunday is his day of rest, he is god, that doesnt mean you put expectations on god that don't exist, he made this planet in six days, he needed a rest, he did a damn good job.
I would love to answer all these questions. They are decent questions and they deserve an answer. I appreciate your calm tone and your respect. If you would like we could discuss these things over skype.
Why would God send an evil spirit to King Saul, turning him into a madman?
Man.. You're brilliant.
Well done ,yet again.
2:22 that actually chuckle out of me
