"This lone album by the US psych rock band Christopher was originally a private pressing of just 100 copies. So it's not hard to understand why it's so rare and valuable nowadays. Musically the album is a mix of psychedelic rock, blues rock and even some heavy psych sound. The album opens with the lengthy title track which is a blues rocker just like the album closer "Day of Sunshine" as well. Both of those songs are good but they're not the highlights here. Rest of the material is psychedelic rock oriented and if you ask me the highlights here include "Death Song", "Fugue" and "Modern Day Oracles" which are all really solid songs. The B-side is slightly better than the A-side I think.
I like this album very much even if it's not one of my ultimate favourites of the late 60's US psych rock. But if you're a fan of the genre this LP is definitely worth checking out. Especially if you enjoy some blues rock mixed with psychedelia. Recommended."

Psychedelic rock with deeper acid rock and acid cosmic blues. A lethal combination. That makes this a killer album. It captures the psychedelic sounds of the late 60s. A hippie anthem album. Awesome underground band. Never heard, don't know this band. They sound so much like a San Francisco psych band. After I listened to this several times, out of curiosity I looked up some info, I wanted to know where in the US they were from. In fact they were from South Carolina. Just ahead of Southern rock, they were a Southern psych/acid blues rock band. This underground band was as good or better than any mainstream psych band of the era.
Thank you Best Dream for this psychedelic lollipop.

The "origins of metal" date back to the 1950s . A band called Christopher in 1968, their first and only album (100 known to exist) Heavy phycodelic blues, references to early template heavy metal. Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath known as the unholy trinity sparked heavy metal worldwide. But the roots of those bands drew elements from Hard Rocks bands, such as Christopher, The Kinks, Link Wray, and Blue Cheer during the mid and late 60s.
