i was wondering u mentioned that u could override the fans via motherboard software if the motherboard had 3pin 5v connectors, my mother board does but i do not understand how to connect the molex to the 3 pin 5v, could u explain that to me as i really dont want to spend more money to change the fans. my motherboard is asrock b660 pro rs btw
@@mich1904 The molex has to be connected to the power supply, not the motherboard. The additional 3 pin connector coming off of the case, that is what connects to the motherboard. Molex primarily is there to spin the fans, and the 3 pin to control the colors. If there is no 3 pin connected to the motherboard, then the molex ends up also powering the controller to create the rgb effects built into the case
@@nerdonabudget thanks man ill try this right now, im actually using this newly build pc rn, its running great and looks great, but it would look better with synced rgb.

@@mich1904 i’m wondering if you ever got a solution of this. I’m having almost the exact same predicament. What’s crazy is that all my fans and devices are in sync, but I don’t have control of them, and even the ones that are completely independent, seem to be overwritten by the case?
I mean it's a cheap 011D mini. I agree with some of the cons but really can't complain with the cost cutting measures for 2 glass panels and a dual chamber case. Nevertheless, thank you so much for going over this case! I've been looking for a good review on it!
Does it always constantly cycle colours or can it change colour and have it stay as the colour I selected? Can it do this with its given pc fan controller?
He said the included ARGB controller can't keep a setting after a power cycle and it changes on it's own after you changed the color while the computer is running. The $15 3rd party ARGB controller doesn't have this issue.
Yes, you need the Molex connector. If you want to plug them directly to the motherboard then you will need molex to fan header adapters but 3 packs of ARGB fans are so cheap, it's worthless to get the adapters and the stress of trying to hide those molex connectors when the 3 packs get as low as $12, for example with the Thermalright brand. There are also other brands that sell packs of ARGB fans with controller hubs that can also sync with your motherboard's RGB software.
THANK YOU!!! I am also scratching my head on the fans. Mine has the 3 molex but only 1 fan (rear) has the argb 3 pin...is this right? Havendone the build...waiting on mobo
Definitely 💯 helped! I went with the green/Mint version of this case! For the price you can’t go wrong. I did end up going with 9 fans from a different company and that company’s controller instead just so it was maxed out with cooling and lighting ! I also went with the same white theme for coolers and fans as well! I did all white cooler and white housing argb fans ! I will show a update as soon as the rest of the parts arrive! Waiting on the new CPU , Ram & SFX FULLY MODULAR psu comes to get rid of the non modular psu out as well as the sleeve cables I went with! Thank you for your review 😊
Regarding to the RGB? Assuming you have the 5v ARGB connector on your motherboard and those fans are the same standard then get a ARGB hub, connect all of those fans and SATA power, and run the RGB software provided by your motherboard manufacturer. You got full control over the RGB via software. But if you don't have a motherboard that supports the 5v ARGB then get a "ARGB Fan Controller" and hook it to the button the old controller was hooked to. There are options for $20 that power the fan via the 4 pin header and ARGB header. One such product like that I've seen is a brand called "Tummaster" and it gives you a remote you can use to change effects and/or allow you to take control through the motherboard.

I got that case once and those fans cables started to melt and smoking when I powered it on. I immediately removed them and swore of ever user Molex fans EVER again.
Id say the best way to make it look good and perform well thermally would be to have a backwards mounted CPU cooler and using the rear fan as intake. That would balance looks and performance depending on what cooler you get.
I built a green one of those DIY ARGB-Q3.v2-Green loos really good. I added 3 rgb fans to the top as intake. I wonder if I should have tried to put them on the bottom to pull in are and not the top? The way it looked is the GPU being so close to that bottom should be able to pull in air. I put a ARGB strip and a controller on the bottom for bling bling. I felt the top fans was bringing air for the CPU and MB. The GPU should be able to pull it in on its own.

I am building my first build in this case soon. Everything that I’ve seen mentions how problematic the molex fans are. Are they really that big of an issue or are they still pretty easy to install?
@@rajvirsanny8592 The build process was simple and everything went to plan. I used 2 different tutorials to make my way through. It’s holding up well and working perfectly.
Bought this one in black, looks great but i agree with your criticisms. I got it for $60 after tax and shipping, and i ended up buying a kit of 3 argb fans from thermalright for an extra $15 shipped. Overall the included fans really are a buzzkill, since theres so many case options for around the same price that have actually good fans pre-installed (like you mentioned in the video). I probably won't buy a case like this again, but i really do like the form factor and design.
@@Random-ed2xf It is very easy for sure, you're not wrong about that, but buying a separate fan kit adds 15-20 dollars to the price. Then you're looking at around 83-88 dollars total for this case and fans, and at that price point it's not very good value anymore. There are better cases that require less work in the 80-90 dollar range.
The Diypc ARGB-Q18-W %B Cases full ATX dual chamber fishtank cases looks took your advice. Also they have a typ C connector. I would like to see those improvements made down to the mid ATX Q cases. For the newer MBs that case USB-C plug is important. With that type of case a lot pf PCIC cards are not going to be used just mainly a GPU. Case connectivity is all that is left.
I've used this case three times and two of the times I replaced the fans since when I tried plugging into a motherboard I couldn't control the RGB. Also I used the 9 fans I had from the three builds in one of the cases and it's hilarious
Were you ever able to get the RGB to work? I just set up this case for my daughter, and I expected there to be the difficulty with the fans and RGB… But even after plugging in through a controller to the motherboard, they still continue to do the cycling thing and polychrome can’t take over. Was I supposed to remove a connection or a molex or something?
@@rgracon never. I ended up replacing them with thermalright RGB fans since they are like 5 bucks a fan, work well and can be controlled from motherboard or external controller.
🤔Interesting and at the same time a bit confusing for me that especially in North America so many PC builders are so interested in absolute budget cases. I currently own 3 ALL AMD systems myself and with a rather average income of 1500 € I still used a real Lian Li case for all 3 and have always handled it like this before 😌 of course I won't use an O11EVO for the 2 and 3 system 😌 But it ended up being a Lancool II Mesh and a Lancool 216. One of my rules is never skimp on the power supply unit and the case, one ensures the system has a solid power supply and in the other I have to be able to work and build sensibly and nowadays also look at it every day, which is purely aesthetic but an important point. In addition, cases from brand manufacturers are not much more expensive than the low-budget compromise solutions, as you can see very nicely with a Lian Li Lancool 216. For around €100 or a little over $90, I think you get a lot with very good features 🙂👍🏻👍🏻
Understand the glass mounting due to recycling an old case design, but the controller and fans are a whole other issue. I think the DIY PC building community as a whole has increased expectations for case features while not wanting to pay more for more modern tempered glass and rainbow unicorn case options.
so the two fans that are exhausting instead of intaking you can just reverse the polarity of them to make them intake so you dont have to physically swap them its pretty simple just swap the negative and positive wires
None of the cons are big deals for me, I just ordered one. Went with the green because it's the cheapest option, $50 on sale right now, and it's not white or black! I don't have anything about white or black cases, but seeing those colors almost exclusively for twenty years now, they're kind of played out. I have extra fans and controllers already, so that part is a non-issue for me. I'm kind of with you on how they mounted the glass panel, but I don't think it's that huge of a thing. Heck, my current case, a wood one, uses _eight_ screws on the side panel that you have to undo every single time, even to access the PSU switch because it's internal. Now let's just hope it gets here in one piece.
@@sinceredtb3227 the one I used was from an old cooler master case I had on hand, any of the ones on Amazon can work. Just to make sure though, does your motherboard not have a 3 pin ARGB header on it? which motherboard do you have? if it has one, then no need for a controller
the best budget case I've ever seen is the Tecware Forge M2 air. Basically a clone of a Meshify mini with shitty ARGB fans for 39.99€. Sell the fans for 10€ and get some P12s and you're golden.
Like this case! Don't like molex! I think most can live with the thumbscrew glass panel, but the lack of a better rgb controller will make me reconsider a more expensive case. I really wish it had usb and audio access on the front panel though. But no one can get this look for the budget it offers.
There's the gamemax infinity for $72 which is a bigger version of this case (also got inspiration from the same lian li O11 dynamic) that supports up to 10 fans and a 360mm aio. I just built my pc using this case.
I've done a couple of builds in this one, it's a good deal at under $60 but frankly over that and there are higher-quality options. I do love the concept of a MATX O11 clone. But of course this is a cheap, relatively low-quality case meant for budget builds. The RGB control is definitely disappointing. It's fine for a new user who's unlikely to care or fiddle with it too much, but for anyone who wants real control, it simply isn;t good enough. It's a good option for flips, overall, simply because of the price.
Honestly, i really appreciate this video but the cons do not apply to me. i'm buying the black case that doesn't come with fans for $60 CAD ($43 usd). i'm buying my own fans with controller + the black design camouflages the screws in the front. i'm completely fine with the screws cuz im not gonna be opening the case every day
Great video! This helped a lot! I'm currently building a budget pc and really like the sky montech two and lianli look but both are kind of expensive! I saw this but after seeing your review I will probably not get this case because I do care about the air flow and rgb. Again great video!
Despite the horrible RGB controller, I like this case. It looks good, the fans themselves work, and this makes any build look better. I can deal with the niggles, I build something it stays that way (as in I rarely if ever open it up again). I get the points you've made, but for most folks it's really not that bad. Monotech cases were my go to for flips...but I hardly flip anymore so something a bit above that for myself to use is what I'm after now. Good review s always Danny!
You wanna see flaws. Look no further than the Hyte Y60. Glaring flaw #1………Vertical GC mount way too close to the glass. Glaring flaw #2……….can’t use full height cards. Glaring flaw #3……….USB ports at the bottom of the case (bye bye usb stick). Glaring flaw #4………..terrible airflow.
this is the style of case a lot of prebuilds are moving to. as for fans I'm going to have a radiator there anyways. im going to use the biggest liquid cpu cooler I can in this case lengthwise, so it cancels the fan issue out. as for the way the tempered glass was mis mounted i had a panel just spontaneously explode in my hands. that was mostly my fault. i was just too lazy to do cable management and had to buy a new case. the case on my other computer had kind of a lip on the glass that catches on the metal fame then 2 thumbscrews on top. it's still an old design and that case isn't made anymore. so, I didn't have that issue. las i saw it i saw it for $!5 and it had bad reviews but i haven't had any major issues.
G'day Danny, It does seem to be the way where you find a case that you really like the look of at an affordable price & there have been some annoying corners cut to get there, with some of them like the side TG mount just making you go ???🤷♂??? Ps we spoke about you getting video sponsors to help support funding content in Livestreams & I think Brilliant was a very good choice. It is not only inline with what you hope to achieve with the channel educating about PCs, but Promoting Real Educational Content is very important these days with so much misinformation/Blatant Lies to push a narative or to scam people using Social Media & the Internet.
I build and sell PCs as a side hustle, and I am right now building one in a DIYPC case and the fans are just like the ones in the case in this video connected through molex, and they are AWFUL. Worst fans I have ever encountered in a case. Absurdly loud, and you of course can't control the speed nor the RGB. And for being as loud as they are they don't really manage to move all that much air either. I will never buy an entry level DIYPC case ever again. I'll stick to Sama, Raidmax and Gamdias and the like for my affordable builds (which are by far the ones that sell that fastest). None of the aforementioned cases are great, but for the same money (40-65 dollar range) they are in my opinion much better than DIYPC cases.
Pointing out flaws that might affect people's purchasing decisions is complaining too much? Didn't I still give it a generally positive review by the end of it?

@@rajvirsanny8592 The build process was simple and everything went to plan. I used 2 different tutorials to make my way through. It’s holding up well and working perfectly.
@@collinwitte6387how did you connect the fans
Bought this one in black, looks great but i agree with your criticisms. I got it for $60 after tax and shipping, and i ended up buying a kit of 3 argb fans from thermalright for an extra $15 shipped. Overall the included fans really are a buzzkill, since theres so many case options for around the same price that have actually good fans pre-installed (like you mentioned in the video). I probably won't buy a case like this again, but i really do like the form factor and design.
thats unfortunate, I like the design too, but damn the molex and fan hub not working well throws it off for me.
@@Random-ed2xf It is very easy for sure, you're not wrong about that, but buying a separate fan kit adds 15-20 dollars to the price. Then you're looking at around 83-88 dollars total for this case and fans, and at that price point it's not very good value anymore. There are better cases that require less work in the 80-90 dollar range.
i mean you can reverse the polarity of a fan fans can blow both ways
@@mannydcbianco any good case recommendations?
So what case especially in white do you reccommend?
Thanks for the video you saved me from buying this maybe!
What so hard to change molex to 3pin?
@@joel845mok, thx
Almost bought this case but some guy sold me a silverstone ld01 for $20 brand new
😲WOW! what a bargain
I just purchased this case for a budget build. The rgb also constantly cycles.
I installed signal rgb and can control all 3 fans fine. I don't have molex fans though just 3 pins power with daisychain 3 pin argb
For around €100 or a little over $90, I think you get a lot with very good features 🙂👍🏻👍🏻
do you think a 6800xt will fit comfortably in that case?
Easily
Danny I do not think you know but even the more expensive beQuiet! Pure Base 500DX and FX have the same mounting method for the TG side panel.
This case being cheaper than the AP201 is crazy... even if the fans are cheaper than my ex wife.
Understand the glass mounting due to recycling an old case design, but the controller and fans are a whole other issue. I think the DIY PC building community as a whole has increased expectations for case features while not wanting to pay more for more modern tempered glass and rainbow unicorn case options.
I think I can overlook the flaws when its that pretty. Great vid!
so the two fans that are exhausting instead of intaking you can just reverse the polarity of them to make them intake so you dont have to physically swap them its pretty simple just swap the negative and positive wires
1:39 damnit Danny lol
So you bought a cheap knockoff case and they sent you a cheap knockoff case.
Nice case Danny!
Can anyone tell me how to get the fans to stop cycling through
You have to buy a separate RGB controller
Oh ok thx
@@nerdonabudgetcan I ask which one you used since idk which one to buy there are cheap $10 ones then there are $40 ones
@@sinceredtb3227 the one I used was from an old cooler master case I had on hand, any of the ones on Amazon can work. Just to make sure though, does your motherboard not have a 3 pin ARGB header on it? which motherboard do you have? if it has one, then no need for a controller
@@nerdonabudgetI have the asus b450m a 2 can you tell me if it has it I think it does so would I just have to hook up the fans to that
I'm pretty sure the frame side of PC fans is always the exhaust side
The case seems to offer a good space design, but some of the includes seem to be lacking
BTW TO NEW BUYERS THE CASE HAS CONTROLLER AVAIBLE ARGB U JUST NEED TO DOWNLOAD SINGNAL RGB FOR IT TO BE USED PROPERLY WITHOUT BUYING OTHER THINGS
How would I do this?
the best budget case I've ever seen is the Tecware Forge M2 air.
But no one can get this look for the budget it offers.
if your motherboard has 3 pin argb header It's a good deal
This case is selling like hotcakes cuz ppl really love the O11 dynamic design
There's the gamemax infinity for $72 which is a bigger version of this case (also got inspiration from the same lian li O11 dynamic) that supports up to 10 fans and a 360mm aio. I just built my pc using this case.
Yep I was playing on using that case too.
it has no fans+it doesn't cost 72 normally
Who knows how I can’t change the rgb color?
Gamemax Infinity
Ionz KZ-Z Dual Chamber
Check these out if you're interested in a budget "011 Dynamic" style case.
Any recommendations on budget cases, especially in white? Micro atx prefered!
IM a bit late but does this pc have an ethernet port on it?
Honestly, i really appreciate this video but the cons do not apply to me. i'm buying the black case that doesn't come with fans for $60 CAD ($43 usd). i'm buying my own fans with controller + the black design camouflages the screws in the front. i'm completely fine with the screws cuz im not gonna be opening the case every day
Great video! This helped a lot! I'm currently building a budget pc and really like the sky montech two and lianli look but both are kind of expensive! I saw this but after seeing your review I will probably not get this case because I do care about the air flow and rgb. Again great video!
Can’t you just stick magnets on the 4 corners since it’s metal?
Bro... U blew my mind with the resert buttom lol My fans the cycled. I sacrificed the fans to science lol
Bro $70????
I can get that case $35 fans included everydays in my local market but in Southeast asia
Which I already have one using
I wish it was sold on amazon
Brooo @1:39
Despite the horrible RGB controller, I like this case. It looks good, the fans themselves work, and this makes any build look better. I can deal with the niggles, I build something it stays that way (as in I rarely if ever open it up again). I get the points you've made, but for most folks it's really not that bad. Monotech cases were my go to for flips...but I hardly flip anymore so something a bit above that for myself to use is what I'm after now. Good review s always Danny!
KEDIERS PC Case - ATX Tower VS DIYPC Q3?
Yes a good amount of B450 do not have a RGB header
You wanna see flaws. Look no further than the Hyte Y60. Glaring flaw #1………Vertical GC mount way too close to the glass. Glaring flaw #2……….can’t use full height cards. Glaring flaw #3……….USB ports at the bottom of the case (bye bye usb stick). Glaring flaw #4………..terrible airflow.
man wish they sold the 210i
this is the style of case a lot of prebuilds are moving to. as for fans I'm going to have a radiator there anyways. im going to use the biggest liquid cpu cooler I can in this case lengthwise, so it cancels the fan issue out. as for the way the tempered glass was mis mounted i had a panel just spontaneously explode in my hands. that was mostly my fault. i was just too lazy to do cable management and had to buy a new case. the case on my other computer had kind of a lip on the glass that catches on the metal fame then 2 thumbscrews on top. it's still an old design and that case isn't made anymore. so, I didn't have that issue. las i saw it i saw it for $!5 and it had bad reviews but i haven't had any major issues.
i prefer the Montech Sky Two.
The kiediers one mentioned in tech sources 800$ pc is pretty good too
I'm using that case too
G'day Danny,
It does seem to be the way where you find a case that you really like the look of at an affordable price & there have been some annoying corners cut to get there, with some of them like the side TG mount just making you go ???🤷♂???
Ps we spoke about you getting video sponsors to help support funding content in Livestreams & I think Brilliant was a very good choice.
It is not only inline with what you hope to achieve with the channel educating about PCs, but Promoting Real Educational Content is very important these days with so much misinformation/Blatant Lies to push a narative or to scam people using Social Media & the Internet.
Nope it's a fish tank lol
I mean like its not bad for 66 bucks
I think the Pink version is 55$ so you throw in few Arctic fans and be happy.Seriously though , you comeplain waaay to much .
Pointing out flaws that might affect people's purchasing decisions is complaining too much? Didn't I still give it a generally positive review by the end of it?
