The worst part about this song is that you only hear it once in Snowcap mountain, and you never go back there, a masterpiece you can only admire once on your adventure...
I find it interesting to compare the two games (the latter specifically being Brawl). Mother 3, overall, is really a lighthearted game, much like EarthBound, but it often gets serious and dark. Brawl, in comparison, definitely feels like the more consistently dark game of the two, even if I'd consider Mother 3 to be the more heartbreaking one.

@@pyrodoxgx8 True, it’s definitely a mix of the two though. Makes sense with Itoi’s ideology of having happy and sad moments stick out by putting them in a setting with the opposite emotion too, though I probably gave it a bit too much credit for the lighthearted part.
You know something weird I think of hearing this song? The Minecraft Legacy Console Edition Christmas texture packs. They were automatically included in all Legacy console editions, which is basically the old editions of Minecraft for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, and the Switch before they made Bedrock edition to allow crossplay. That texture pack even had a few music tracks that only played when the textures were being used, which Mother 3’s Snowman remind me of. You could probably search them up.
Odd that MOTHER makes you think of minecraft legacy, but now you have me thinking about it. When you get the chance, go listen to Flake and Kyoto by C418 to relieve those days.
Not sure if it's the best place to ask... There's a version of Snowman for the life of me I can't recall where it's from. I just know that the opening sounds more grandiose in comparison. Hopefully someone might now (or read this) can hopefully know what I'm talking about, and it's not Brawl's!
@@Lodac77 The best way way I can describe it is take this one (Mother 3) and slightly arrange the opening bit. That unique opening bit is what stands out to me as it replaces the traditional "Do do do do do do-do-do" bit with something like "Da na na na na na-na-na" the latter being at a slightly faster tempo.

Also the other one was slower than normal and I made this one faster but it sounds better than slower so yeah. You don't have to go back, but you can! I did so I could get the enemy data for the frosted bun with Duster.
You only hear the OG version in Earthbound once, too. Truly sad. One of my favourite themes in the game.

Fun Fact: You can go to the Saturn Village and save Duster and bring him to the Snow with you. (It makes the gorilla boss fight easier)
