I made an upgrade to this kit and Packbrake was gracious enough to provide me with the fittings I replaced the 90 degree fittings with 45 degree nipples on both for best oil flow I was told 90 degree fittings will greatly reduce oil flow.
Just ordered a drain valve... decided to go with the ValvoMax, but also ordered an EZ (to compare). I like the Fumoto also, especially the new one that lets you clock it to the position you want. What I liked about the ValvoMax is it's a little lower profile and has the cap when not in use. How's the Fumoto performing for you? I'm looking at relocating my filter next. It's location is just a bit ridiculous... lol
I added this to my 2015 Ram Sport after changing the oil 1 time. Even with the plastic bags or form-able funnels it was a mess. Yah, it's pricey, still oil changes are a breeze and clean.
I did my underside also... I used both Fluid Film and Surface Shield. Did one side in FF, the other in SS... to compare them... Wish the 360° nozzle I got woulda fit on the cans... wrong gender... lol Application-wise they're pretty similar. FF had a slight tendency to blow around/drift back down on you. SS sprayed and stuck without as much aerosolization. The FF cans came with the little straw tho so you could be more precise where you put it, and get it inside closed areas better (since my 360 nozzle idea didn't work). Overall good stuff. Liked them both...
@@WaterFowler41 thanks for the reply. I ordered a case of the Wix XP from rock auto. They came out to $8 each of I remember right. From what I understand the mopar filter is a rebranded wix xp.
I’m not sure there are going to be any to be honest. Oil pressure is within spec and my oil changes just became super clean. What more could you ask for!
Just installed on a 2022 Ram 1500 Limited. Thanks for the help on the video. Made the job go a lot quicker and easier. Certainly a better setup for changing the oil now. Oil pressure at 46-50psi and no leaks. Very nice quality on the parts. Hopefully it does not develop a leak down the road
I took it 1 step further and added a Hubb oil filter then went to an aluminum welder and had him weld in an Aluminum 1/8" alum weld bung for a 1/8" magnetic drain plug why? To make it easier when you remove the oil filter there is oil in the hoses and block that need to drain as well having the drain plug eliminates more mess to deal with and hot oil all over your hands while it's draining I have a second filter filled and ready to screw on. Another advantage I noticed by accident with the Hubb Filter for 5.7 Etorque is, for example, your braking slowing down for a traffic light then the light turns green when you hit the gas there is a jerky action from the trans looking for the right gear to be in, now with the 55 gallons per minute flow and I assume back oil pressure the trans knows what gear to be in for a smooth transition for acceleration its always in the correct gear now instead of being 1 or 2 gears too low or 1 gear to high I also noticed when slowing down for a turn when I come out of the turn and accelerate I'm in the correct gear making for a smoother ride no clanking under these driving situations I'm not an engineer or mechanic it's just a nice side effect of this combination. FYI I posted photos on Facebook and a mechanic said you should have 45-degree fittings on the filter housing to reduce more restriction of oil flow. I contacted Pacbreak and they were very helpful and sent me two 45-degree fittings customer service is great. Pacbrake 5-star👍Great video
Ya, I was wondering why the 90° fittings. Wondered why they didn't at least design them with a bit more of a gradual radius rather than a sharp corner. Do the 45s work ok? Still get the change in direction that you need?
Enjoyed the video. Underside of your truck looks so clean for a midwestern vehicle! Do you pressure wash regularly in the winter or use another method to fight corrosion?
Mine started to leak a little bit after 3-4 years installed. I have seen nothing in my driveway and just a small drop on the housing itself, maybe it's only leaking under pressure when engine is running. Looks like it's coming from the big seal (blue part that replaced old filter). Hopefully I can retighten everything and it'll be ok. I refuse to go back to OEM filter location changes.
I had this worry as well. I spoke to the service manager at my dealer and he said the lines weren't long enough to cause enough oil pressure drop. Therefore, it shouldn't mess with the warranty.
Good set of how to's. I wanted to as you, to relocate the stoopid idiot engineering location of the OEM oil filter. Pacbrake was not available for me when I began to relocate my setup. I opted for the usual kits that were out there the past two yrs. First setup was totally useless, the Derale kits, rubber lines on aluminum fittings with a hose clamp, really? Even though cruising speed for my 1500 at about 75-80 mph, oil PSI was 53-55. The damn hoses still leaked. Kicked that to the curb, the next one, had actual custom oil lines made, very similar to the Pacbrake lines, found another setup thru Summit racing, seemed to be better engineering components, same problem, oil leaked pas the elbow fittings. My intentions were good, at first, I was able to fit a bigger filter as well, thinking more oil to filter etc. I haul a race trailer, I usually chge the filter out between the usual chgs, its cheap, and of course easy to get too. Now that Pacbrake is available, gonna get one thxs
one more thing, idiot engr design team knuckleheads were at it again. ABS plastic tranny pan with a built in filter? Exhaust cross over pipe actually blocks the drain hex head bolt? OMG! Pulled that crap off and bought the 8HP70 PPE Transmission Pan Filter, from Pacific perf. engr. Actual drain bolt that drains , no obstacles, filter bolts in.
Not really as there’s plenty of frame below the filter. That said, I did install an Rci skid plate on my truck and it adds additional protection for the filter
If you have an issue and its tied to the relo kit then yes, warranty coverage will be declined. That said, if you install it correctly and properly maintain your truck, you should have no issues.
@CaptainRonAhoy so about seems pacbrake discontinued the old part number HP10363 19-24 rams & HP10362 09-23 classic to new part number HP10596 19-24 rams & HP10595 09-23 classic. Why the change? Who knows, but it's available just a different part number. I just purchased the 10595 for my 2014 ram 1500. I hope this helps.

Hey, I just installed my,went for a drive, and I've noticed a drop in psi as well (4-6psi) worried the shit out of me. I stopped at my local auto parts, let the truck idle and now I'm at 31 psi
Not worth it mine leaked after 1.5 oil changes. 3 qt low on oil and oil everywhere underneath. All the hose end are rusted out not even winter yet. Wish i can get my money back.

@davejenkins7735 life’s too short to live in fear of warranty coverage. Install the relo kit properly and you’ll have nothing to worry about other than what you’ll do with all the spare time you have because your not cleaning up all the oil that spilled all over the cv and steering box.

Great to hear!
Because the relocation of the oil filter, any changes on the oil quantity? U do have to add more oil? Or level still the same?
@filipebmwm3 my truck measured within spec with 7 qts
I use about a pint more oil@@filipebmwm3
I might do this down the road. For now, I just picked up an Oil Utter that I'll use for the next few oil changes, then decide.
What is the Oil Utter?
The crocs 😂
With socks too.
Can’t want to see this. Been waiting to do it to my Rebel. Maybe now you can use the SRT filter as well.
Same
The video is LIVE!
Is that the same as the TRX filter? Is it longer or something?
@@jwhmerica504 I believe the TRX oil filter is MO-899. The filter I used is MO-339 and I picked it up from Advanced Auto Parts.

how do I get an overtightened relocator off? its way to tight to get off by hand and since its just circle I cant use an oil filter wrench on it

Is it leaking where the blue piece meets the engine block or where the bottom "bolt" meets the blue piece? Thanks in advance. 👍
Replaced both o rings with viton and still leaking. Where the blue piece meets the engine block.
This looks like a great upgrade. Im curious, if your oil temp would drop a litttle, seeing as cool air is now flowing around the filter?
I'm not sure but I see your angle here. Might drop it but only minimally since the plate is in front of the filter.
Can you make a video on the bed lights?
Already did! It’s on my channel!

Does it make the hemi require more than the 7qt of since it adds more lines for the oil filter system?
