What a disgrace to that home with all of the Obama pictures. Especially the one with pot leaves and a neck tat. No wonder they dont allow video.
Always been curious what this cottage looked like inside - luckily you got to film inside. Thank you Aunt Nancy! Great job. Impressed with the statue of President Lincoln and horse outside. Stay warm.
Thanks!
No bells, just a recording.
Born and raised in DC😊
This is a cottage? The size of it is 2 to 3 times bigger than my only house! And this he just used for summer?
Read about it, please.
Thank you
Excellent video, Chris! I don’t think it’s been too long since they turned that into a museum setting. I recall watching an episode of “ This Old House” where they were showing meticulous restoration of the stucco and putting back the standing seam metal roof in the same manner it was done in Lincoln’s time. Great to see the inside though. Thank you!
Ah ok I can see that. Thanks
No sound?
I wondered where this was, it must be close to DC, if Lincoln rode it in a carriage. Where is it exactly? Thank You
It's inside DC. About 3mi from the White House.
@@VATravels Thank you. I was thinking it was the same one that Lincoln's hat was shot off his head.
Very interesting to see this, thank you for braving the cold to film it!!
Your welcome!
Thanks!
Thank you!!
Thanks!
Thanks!!
I worked there for 8 years! You went on a pretty day. Interestingly, there’s conflicting research to which house on the grounds he actually lived in while President. From my research, he actually lived in a neighboring home the year he drafted the Emancipation Proclamation. Sadly, he only mentioned the Soldiers’ Home once in writing, so there’s not much to go on. Great video as always!
Appreciate the information. Thanks!
