a ST, with cast manifold like speedtech, is more reliable than TT for sure. less o2, less vaccum lines, less cooling and oil lines, less heat, pcv high pressure is atmos, etc. and it sounds good !
Thanks for this, first honest review I've come across. Debating upgraded twins vs a single, and I'm still not sure given the pros/cons of both. I want 500HP crank that feels like OEM, AND is reliable....
Thanks for watching! To be very honest I dont reccomend single turbo to anyone that isnt racing the car. The simplicity of single turbo makes it inherently reliable over twins that have both oil and coolant lines running to them etc. But for OEM feel definetely go with twins. Single turbo cant keep up with a prius from a stoplight, zero power under 3800. Like literally zero, imagine an NA N54. Doesnt make much power lol. For a daily car that you want to be zippy go twins for sure. Single is a flex and is cool for racing and what not but thats about it . Hope this helps!
@@ColeGrove Thanks, I hear you man. Problem is upgraded twins seem not to be much more reliable than the stock TD03s. And that's regardless whether you get cheapies (17ts) or pricey Pure/Vargas/RB etc. So then what's the point lol. Are there no 'small' singles that aren't complete dog-water below 3k rpm?
@stephenpato5524 I’ve seen some people run like 5862 precisions but I’ve never seen spool. I would assumed they start to make 2-5psi at 2500 and then are full spool by 32-3300. The only twin upgrade I would go with is pure. I know guys that have been on lures for quite some time and haven’t had many issues. I see other people have issues but pure seems to be most consistent. Just do all new lines while you do twins if you go that route
What trans mounts do you run? I have an xtreme (xclutch in the states) twin plate ceramic in my 335i and fitted rev shift green poly trans mounts at the same time. Thought all of that crazy rattle was coming from the smfw at first, but switched back to standard trans mounts and it easily reduced the drivetrain noise by probably a good 80%. Makes daily driving a lot less painful EDIT: Watched the rest of the video, standard trans mounts & 335is engine mounts will change your life
The shifter having no isolator I think exaggerates everything as well. The solid trans mounts are terrible also haha, need to switch them out at some point I’ve just been so lazy and have other things more pressing. Going to get around to those soon tho!
Let’s see how this channel will turn out! :D I was watching vids about N54 reliability and shit and this vid got recommended to me. Interesting Gauge cluster. Can you show it in detail in the next vid? Greetings from Germany
Yes! I’m going to do a full build breakdown at some point and I’ll go over everything! Cluster isn’t my favorite anymore to be honest. Got it a few years ago when my taste wasn’t the best haha. But it goes to 200 lol
i have same setup besides the manifold and turbo. im running a speedtech top mount with a garret g35-1050 68mm turbo 3 port mac solenoid. and my shit in 4th 2800rpm is not as laggy thats weird. but cool setup bro.
this was my car in high school, back in 2014. Im so glad these things are still on the road. I lost my virginity in it
+infinite aura. So cool bro 😭 long live E9x 335
LMFAO 😂🫶🏽

The noise coming from the shifter would drive me nuts 😂
It’s super annoying 😂 makes me want to swap it out
@@ColeGrove Every shifter I've ever used on manual cars has done the same thing 😕 Great Video Cole 👏
Thanks bro!
Thinking about doing a single turbo setup on my E90. This video was very enlightening. Thank you!
Do it! The cool sounds alone are worth it
yup, got a soft spot for the e90.
mines still parked in the driveway too...
Same, gonna be hard for me to get rid of this thing 😭

@@stephenpato5524yes there are do some research not saying you haven’t but not all single turbos are that laggy
@JaggzGaming 5862 gen2 would probably have pretty sick midrange
Sweet car, I have an e90 with a Speedtech kit top mount with a 6266. The car is a blast
Thanks man! That’s sweet, wish I went top mount. I was too concerned with melting my valve cover for some reason. Got some serious regret there 😂

Chill at this point im sentimentally attached to that crack. Im jk lmao Ill get it fixed at some point I just dont ever have the motivation to do it

@@ColeGrove yeah tbh I don’t like it either haha but it looks interesting. Is it custom made? Haven’t seen sth like that.
pff i want a 130i or 135i so bad. dont even care if its tuned or not. Just hard to find cheap ones in europe.
I know I complain in this video the whole time essentially. But it’s still bad ass to drive everyday hahah
Bro have a coolant leak ?, bmw chyme give me heart attack everyday
Hahah nah I never extended the plug for the coolant level sensor so the car thinks it doesn’t have coolant it in lol.
Also, I got so used to the chime I don’t even hear it anymore 😂

It makes like 4 or 5 psi in 4th at 2800 so it’s not totally nothing but not great. Garret g series turbos are the TITS from what I’ve heard
@@ColeGrove yes they are spool time is awesome on them
