Tbh, one (unfortunate) factor of IGLing in soloQ/pugs is having a positive KD. No random is gonna listen to you if you're 3 in 12. So while pro IGLs can call around their stars, in a pug you should try to give yourself a good shot too. Also the best way Ive found to IGL in soloQ/duoQ is to be the utility player. If you have to rely on your teammates for an execute, you're pretty much f-ed on any map that isnt mirage. So Ive just learned how to throw a full execute on my own. That way I can call something like "Everybody rush A. Blue, drop me a smoke on my ping. I'll smoke CT and temple, then flash for you guys. All you have to do is rush A together with my flash". This is usually far more effective than relying on others to know things. Also it gives people confidence that you know what you're doing.
