Since they were so rude to me at their product launch in our area I don't feel so bad telling you that in the stock form they roll over easy and in my opinion look boxy. They are not very prevalent in our dunes.

If it's a V6 you will be able to get around ok, run about 5lbs. of air pressure. This would apply to Silver Lake.. You'll go up some decent hills. You won't be the sand master but you'll get around.
Mears and Hart Michigan. Saturdays after Memorial Weekend, and the 3 holiday weekends. You will need a voucher for these days during the summer. Check into it before you go!
I believe Bjorn has those links pertaining to 2012 jumps. The Raptor/Silverado jumps were from 2011 and can be viewed currently on my facebook.

For CPR Anthony..... Silver Lake Sand Dunes, near Mears, Michigan. Only dunes east of Utah you can legally run on with stuff with an engine. :)
I'm watching this in 2017 (I'm on a Silver Lake videos binge watching spree) and am probably one of the most unexpected viewers. I'm actually a girl ( I won't say age for privacy) in middle school watching a bunch of video of Silver Lake trying to remember it. The last time I was there I was 5 or 4 years old and I'm going back this year. I am very excited, last time my family went we went on the dunes with my dads Jeep (sorry don't know what kind of Jeep), but sadly about four years ago he sold it. But today he got a Wrangler (Willys Edition), and that's what we are going to go out on the dunes with this time. It will kind of be funny because it will be a full stock Wrangler 😂. But the best part is it is the same color as our old one. (Sorry this comment was just about me 😬 cool video, also to add to the other comments...

i broke my back after going here for 5 years on my yz250 2 stroke really bad wash outs on back sides of dunes almost like 15-20ft Clifs at begging of season. Be safe!
Is the jump next to the trees the only one rails and trucks are allowed to do? That seems to be the only one you see in silver lake videos.

Where do I start here. First off you managed to make a paragraph into one sentence, bravo on your obvious lack of intelligence. You gonna brag about your dad's toys some more? Get something of your own and then talk it up. For me i'm more into the dirt bike aspect of this video as i'm an avid rider. It's cheaper and i'd rather dump money into my vehicles which includes a track Subaru Legacy GT built from the ground up and my 04 Silverado, also with many add on's. I'm 20 and afford all these.

Hello friends, in the 3:20 minute goes a jeep laredo and I have one identical to this and let me know that suspension, shock absorbers, engine and axles and all that makes it a beast in the dunes, sorry I'm new to this and let me know, thanks.

Wish I could help you, but I am just getting into them myself. What I just told you was from talking to a couple owners. If you go to Silver Lake on the 20th there is a long travel rail car show/party. I'm pretty sure all of your questions could be answered, plus you can look at the buggies. I'm going.
I was at Silver Lake riding last week. I got to ride in a 4-seater buggy with a V6 in it. He built it for about 30k. To build a 4-seater that can wheelie and has a V8 in it will cost 50-100k. The transmissions for them are about 13-15k and you can go through two a year with enough abuse.
So this is one of the first time I've watched one of these vides and just... I LOVE IT OMG I WANT TO DO THIS SO BAD, COOLEST THING IN THE WORLD, and then I started thinking, and you know what the best part is? It's in the fucking sand so goodbye worrying about rust issues!
Must be a torture to clean all kinds of filters after those sessions :P
The friend of my mother went through the Sahara desert, about 8000km on his ktm and he had to exchange his chain, sprocket wheels and all kinds of other stuff afterwards because the sand just gets in everywhere :)
So is it worth a 6 hour trip there or should I do the longer 13 hour trip back to Waynoka? I have been to Waynoka 4 times now and loveit but at 13 hours that requires vacation days off of work. At least with Silverlake being only 6 hours I was thinking I could make it a weekend trip.
do you know of the monster energy buckshot x2r rail. ive seen that once in person and that thing is sweet only with it didnt not cost 300 grand to buy. someday i wanna v8 rail myself but i dont have the money. so i got a trx 450 bored out to a 528 running a mix of race fuel and premium gas.
so are we supposed to use a prius? I don't get your logic, you don't buy these for gas mileage. Fuck I drive my built Subaru Legacy GT on the road with a 4 cylinder that's turbocharged and get 17 mpg. Measure it in fun per mile, not fuel consumption.
loooove silver lake, live in grand rapids. im there quite a bit. had my rail out there last year. street legal vw long travel with 200 hp 1915cc lol. hard to do haha. but its sold now. time for the big ole dd jeep to shine this year
couple of those jeeps were pretty bad.... but when does the jumping start? looks like all the kids from the other camp ground got into daddys trick car and wanted to try and jump like the big boys........ laughable
My love of Michigan is Sliver Lake dunes, moved away in 2007, can't take the cold, was born in Central Michigan, love and miss it.❤

I came here because I saw that chevy eat it and then it said, "click here to see the ford raptor do the same jump". Well the chevy was stock but the raptor was built up even more. Anyone else do this?

Well the video showing the chevy had a link on the video that said Watch the raptor make the same jump, but the video did not show any raptor jumping where the chevy did, so the link is misleading.

What kind of motor is in the sand rail at 5:06? That thing sounds completely unhinged to me. Kind of like a ferrari motor stuffed into a sand rail. I've never heard anything like that outside of professional motor sports or in supercars. I love this video primarily for the engine noise. The motors make beautiful music on their own and it's great that they were so prominently featured.

Can someone give me an idea on how this place compares to Waynoka OK Little Sahara Sand Dunes? Are there trails in the dunes like in OK? How long does it take to do a lap?
