Thanks Joe for pick Sokoninaru again. Their talent should be more recognizable because they on another level interm of musicality. You can breakdown this song longer because so much stuff happened in a second
More SOKONINARU. They are on a entirely different level. I have no idea how they come up with this stuff. I’m happy to see that your channel is introducing more listeners to this amazing band.
I found out about this band from the first video you did on them over a month ago and I am completely obsessed with their music. I have listened to every song they have on Spotify over and over as well as all their vids on the RUclips. I can't get enough of these guys. I really hope you're going deeper into what they offer. Thank you, Tony for hipping me to this outstanding music.
I've been a huge fan of them even when they mostly started as a cover band, you'd think the novelty wears off from the initial shock of finding them but I still jam to their songs weekly years later. Should definitely look into the rest of their stuff, including live! It's even more impressive that they can nail the stop starts and complexity.
It's almost more impressive when you watch the live version of the song, since there isn't a lot of editing going on and you can actually watch them play the whole song.
Thanx so much for doing a 2nd Sokoninaru song, DRT! Luv your breakdowns, as always. What I've found very frustrating is that several reactors I follow have had responses similar to yours re: seeing the band for the 1st time - well, probably not as detailed :) - yet none (until now) have continued the journey! Patreon Joe, if u read the comments, please suggest "Koyokugen ha Setsuna" and "Lament Moment" next... Thanx again, Tony.
Thanks again for a wonderful reaction to this criminally underrated band. You totally hit the nail on the head with them. Even after having been a musician for quite some time, I listen to them and I unabashedly acknowledge there is a higher, much higher level of music being created and performed with this trio. Honestly, and with no reservation, they have changed how I think about music and what it can do. While there's no video for it, I think you might like their song Burial on Ice they did for a Christmas album (yes a Christmas album). The changes and everything they build up to just comes to absolute perfection. ruclips.net/video/bP93q8rz57o/видео.html
"Where are you at when the music is this wild?" If the wildness was just flexing, or being unconventional for the sake of it, I wouldn't like it. But with Sokoninaru, the wildness is a means to the end of making beautiful music. They're one of my favourite bands.
I think something people tend to miss is how much humor is in their music... people keep comparing them to pretentious dreck like Polyphia, but to me it seems like they're just having fun -- the parts where they pause and Jūkō will play some quiet chord are like musical winks, like someone acting really scary then turning to you and giving a wink, saying "just having a laugh"...
@@greggerypeccary did you just call polyphia prentention drecks 💀 i obviously do not know them personally, so i don't know how they act, but they are far from being trash, if you don't like them thats okay but you can't deny how they are objectively some of the most skilled musicians in the music industry
@@justyouraveragehumanbeing7411"Polyphia" (and "Chon") is a word used as an example of pretention in some parts... yes, they know how to move their fingers fast, but that doesn't equal good music. Here's a true fact: someone I know who saw tricot on all their US tours said that while on the solo tours the audience was very mixed in terms of race, sex, age etc., when they toured with Chon the audience was 99% teenage white boys. That's the target audience of these bands: middle-class boys who sit in their room and jerk off on their guitars and are impressed with technical ability.

We need more Sokoninaru ‼‼ I actually discovered them from the first reaction video that you did on the band and haven't stopped listening to their songs since, their discography is so deep and I hope you find time to explore more songs from them. If you need a recommendation i'd suggest Re: Program or 真実の花
Actually all the lyrics are pretty good, deep meaning in Japanese. It’s a pity for non J speaking audience, most of their songs don’t work Auto translation.
@@KB-hs4go Yeah it is kinda unfortunate. But the fact that their music is still very enjoyable even without lyrics is a testament to how good it really is.
I believe you could do an entire reaction video just about Shiyu's drumming... always such attention to detail, all those little touches like playing on the rim or his famous hi-hat-manual-override...
5:08 after listening many times at 0.5x speed, I think it's 3 16ths, then it's 4 groups of 4 notes that fit in the dotted eighth note. So it's 3 note pickup after beat 1, into 16 notes in the space of 3 beats

I'm glad you liked Sokoninaru. If possible, it's great if you also listen to Ling tosite sigure, which is TK's band. It is one of the influences of sokoninaru. If you want something older listen to "Telecastic fake show," but if you want something newer, do "Marvelous Persona." Thanks.

Go Listen top Ling Tosite Sigure, Sokonimaru is literally influenced by them as they started as a cover band for LTS

I've been actively listening to them for about a year and this is still me. They're fucking awesome.
Don’t even hesitate to take more time to expend on these kind of songs. We love it
Hell yeah!! More Sokoninaru!
I've listened to this song many times before, but it amazes me how much stuff you pick up on and point out

They are not so popular in JP, not making much money.

Living in Japan, I didn't know about this band. I never thought I would be introduced to a good band from an overseas RUclips channel.
