- Survivor and two slugpups get to the home tree :)
I assume the endings change a bit depending on how many pups you have but idk for sure (jsyk, the icon of slugcat sleeping with the pups changes after you get the ending for the first time)
I assume this is the canon home ending since Monks ending without slugpups always seems to be Survivor with other slugpups.
slugpup are mod tho (they were on game but removed before)
@@DemyCrin the slugpups aren't a mod wdym, they came in from the new downpour DLC
@@acs5809 whaa, then the mod is in case once doesn't have the dlc or something else i read wrong a.e
@@acs5809 i check, the mod allows any slug to have slugpups, bonk meh
@@DemyCrin I have honestly no idea of what you just said
This hits me now... the fact that Survivor and Monk don't find their parents nor their last sibling probably means that canonically they were lost for years, or at least, enough time for their family to move to another place.
So they were there, surviving for months, pretty close one from another but never finding each other, until eventually they found a way back home and finally met again...
Honestly, this game's lore is identical to it's gameplay, tragic and brutal, even when you reach this ending, probably the best ending possible, cause you feel like they lost a lot of time and nothing can compensate the many cycles alone and fighting for survival... on second thought, probably the best ending is the ascension, literal heaven along your lost brother and probably the rest of your family for the rest of the eternity seems like a fair ending after all that suffering.
Atleast this journey ends somewhat good for survivor
Though Gourmands ending is sweetest one
So this is how Survivor has kids in monk's ending.
i thought he went mitosis and just made babies of himself
i thought the same thing too 💀
Slugs are ausexual
They can, actually, but in game, not in ending.
Edit: I meant in a game mod, but there is a file for a slugcat going though mitosis in the game files
I've seen a bunch of people saying that Survivor found a mate/must be a girl, I have a different theory: the pups are adopted as we do ingame, as Survivor lost their family and accepted that they'd probably never see them again but decided they could be a family to little ones who'd become lost like the Survivor did.
(also for all we know slugcats might be hermaphroditic, it'd be more efficient for the ancients breeding them)
Yeah, but hermaphrodite doesn't mean you can just do mitosys and create offspring via cloning, it means having both male and female gametes and therefore being able to procreate with any other individual from the species not being a single-cell organism
Ok, edit here. Self-fertilization is possible for some organisms, but it is avoided due to high genetic depression when creating your offspring, so I made the assumption a race of genetic engineers wouldn't want to fucking obliterate their creation by making an animal, a complex organism, self-fertilize due to high chance of genetic instability. So yes, in some situations certain organisms do that, but it's usually plants and I don't think slugcats do that, because in the Survivor animatic it shows them having 2 parents (or what at least seem to be parents). I know this doesn't mean that they couldn't as a part of their life cycle be able to self-fertilize AND have offspring the usual way, but I think that isn't that genetically advantageous and because they were an organism to fulfill a purpose having them be unable to operate due to genetic damage by like their 3rd generation doesn't seem likely.
@@that_one_MM well tbf hunter is pretty effed up
@@that_one_MM hermaphrodite slugcats could be possible. Species of snail and slug in the real world can reproduce asexually and sexually. If there was the senario that slugcats were more slug than cat, then this could work for them too.
@troupemastergrimm6063 yah, but slugcats aren't slugs or cats they are confirmed to be some type of rodent. Slugcats is just some random person who called them that, and everyone liked the name, even the devs.
Besides, who else but the fast, slimy slug cats to clean up the pipes.
The new artstyle of the slug thing (campaign art) was a great way to say "we have more than one artist"
The what

The true ending for Survivor IMO. She lost a family and gained another ❤
if it were a girl you would be able to see him in the dating sim.
@@Elcomedordepan lol what spearmaster is a boy and hes in the dating sim (moron)
@@Elcomedordepan i don't think every slugcat from the dlc is a girl (aside from artificer (n maybe riv)). Everyone except arti is a they/them of some form

Wait till you see the monk ending one
please teach me how
@@LenassGarden u go to journeys end (outer expanse) with 2 pups, the outer expanse etrance is in western subterranean and u will prob need porl cuz scan toll (downpour required)
@@ERS127 Thanks! Now I don't have to be separated from mah pup, Moxxy 😸
my only critique is how different the art looks for some of the dlc stuff, they tried their best to match the original though
yeah, same. that menu screen is just... too different
I like all the art except the survivor and monk art. I actually think the visible differences is cool because you can see multiple talents went into it. But I dunno what happened with monk and survivor home art... It looks like they didn't use reference images. The slugcats are way too long and skinny and their faces are too defined. Slugcats are very round jellybean-like creatures. It's sad because the ending art for those two would be absolutely adorable but because of the way it's drawn the slugcats don't look cute at all. I'm full on considering learning to mod so I can make a resource pack type thing that exclusively changes all variations of the survivor and monk home ending art to be cuter. I think I could mimic the old style well enough, hopefully?
by the way i did it with one slugpup and it has similar ending but with just one slugpup. im still curious if it will change if one is a night slugpup or have three slugpup.
It doesn’t change the color of the pup
That is so cute, I wonder if you can do it with monk
Monk's ending assumes you did it with Survivor, as far as I know. Might be wrong about that.
@@RougeMephilesClone Yeah even if you don't bring the slugpups, they'll be there when Monk arrives.
@@RougeMephilesClone oh, so that's him that we see in the Monk's ending? That's so neat! Screw ascension, that's the real good ending of their campaigns!
Has anyone posted the monks version?
i'm gonna see if this is possible with artificer. girl deserves a happy ending
WAIT THIS GAME ACTUALLY HAS A GOOD ENDING? bro I hated the "transcendence" ending so much you have no idea this makes me happy and I will try as hard as I can to get this ending now.
You have to unlock it as gourmand
least suicidal rain world player:
Ye, u just have to play the game after u ascend and go to the train den room and go up, get enough karma, and there will be a new region, The Outer Expanse.
I wonder where Survivor's parents and other sibling went besides Monk
The theory is that they ended up ascending before you.
probably dead or migrated to another slug tree
@@tomok3733 gourmand anchivment is called migration so most likely they just went somewhere else
I imagine they went to seek new territory or slugcats are nomadic and will move between homes.
according to the rivulet situation probably they family migrated to other places to be safe?, but if that so this could be a bad future for monk and survivor in this ending. They are son many questions.... but atleast im happy with this ending.
i am just unlucky or is their more to finding slugpups than just randomly at a shelter because i have only managed to find one so far near the start of the game
i foundn 2 in my gourmand one
Some areas have better chances of spawning a pup, they can only be found inside a shelter.
I had none for a solid half of my run. I had to backtrack through a couple of the areas that have a high slugpup rate to find my first one.
then, at the very end, at the treetop room save point in outer expanse I found a second one.
I was super lucky to get the full 2 scugpup ending by pure RNG.
Im still wondering why survivor looks so goofy in the ending art in the menu
Probably because of different artstyles
How many variations of this ending exists with varying number of slugpups tailing behind you?
Sounds to me like you're challenging someone to try to get as many of those cute furballs as possible and I might just take you up on that :D
3 endings for survivor and 3 endings for monk. 0,1,2 pups
monk pups don't count, but survivor ending slightly changes monk ending
We can ascend later. Right now the Slugpups need someone to look after them... and I don't see any other volunteers.
Everything chillin until your slugpups get stranded from you
THAT! 0-0
That is why Monk meets survivor being not alone, but with two pups in his Home ending!
Upd: Just don't do it with three. Or else the Monk's ending will have.. sad implications. (=
I wonder though, could it show three pups, or are two the limit for this ending? It probably could...
What happens 😢
@@gcawesome2482 Well, if you're seriously asking, I don't know. I just guessed that if there were three pups in Surv's ending and by the time Monk arrived there were only two - it'd look like one of them is gone. And not just gone to play around in the backyard...
But I don't know if it's possible to get the ending with more than two pups.
@@farresalt4381 ok, well thanks for the reply. I don’t think the ending changes if you have more than 2 slugpups, so maybe the others just vanish, idk
Slugcats seem to be nomadic so maybe one of em wandered off to have their own slugcat adventure. at least that's a much more interesting a hopeful ending than one of them just dying. it's all a matter of perspective
the game only spawns 2 pups maximum, you cant get any more of you have 2 pups. there is a mod though that lets you uncap it. you can do fun things with that mod and gourmands food quest ending.
basically, survivor started another family after losing a family, and went back home
the ending does change depending if you have other slugpups, I only found one slugpup, I protected him with all of my life and when i bought him to this ending there was only one, and in the menu there was also only one so yeah
This is actually how I first beat the home ending on survivior, with 2 slugpups…..
Is there one thats just the survivor
Yes, if you go alone it will be the same cutscenes but only survivor and it looks kinda sad whit no slugpup's
Yes, but if you then lead monk to outer expance, they will meet survivor and 2 pups, so it is kinda implied that the survivor took at least 2 pups to outer expance
Lovely
It's like they're saying: we're... home.
This has to be a fate worse than ascending. Literally stuck without a family and now has to take care of 2 smaller slugcat pups.
I would look at it in a more optimistic way. They finally get to have a family of their own!
If you choose to look at it like that yeah i guess
The discussion about slugcat's gender in comments: "exist"
Minecraft: Oh come on! That's absolutely normal.
@I caught my cat eating a pidgeon at night Ooh. Well... You have pretty good PC. For 1000 cows)
2:55 why the song so sad

@@juansnyders7323 wait you can actually get slugpups in base game due to the downpour update?

yeah after you unlocked it with gourmand
No. Spearmaster is too early for sure, and I think Artificer is too early too.
Only Survivor, Monk, and Gourmand can get there legitimately
anything after monk five pebbles is too weak to give permission or somin i think and before gourmand five pebbles does not give permission
@@Noncredible the permission is always here after completing gourmand, he just unlock it once and it's unlocked forever
1:02 noo the babies 🤣
gosh this is cuteh
I wonder how Survivor got these...
Is possible to find Slugpups near of the Journey's end? ik this probably is the easy way but i been almost finish the campaing of the survivor and i saved the last point in the last shelter before to proceed the ending of the Tree. I really want to have a happy ending for him c:
Prob in a future i will restart the campaing of survivor from 0
Where did you manage to find the little guys? I've been looking all over and I can't get them to spawn.
Shaded citadel has 50% chance per cycle to spawn these guys inside a shelter. I recommend Industrial Complex, plenty of food and 25% chance to spawn these guys as well as shelters being quite near to each other.
Forgot to mention that you need to finish Gourmand's food quest if that's your problem. They only spawn in Survivor and Hunter's campaign, I think they do too in Gourmand's but I'm not sure.
@@codyskull2594 crazy that the rates are so high there
@@knatkniht My headcanon is that Gourmands quest which unlocks the pups led to a sort of intentional/unintentional migration closer to Pebbles can and they all heard his stories about what he found.
Shaded Citadel is where Gourmand found all that food, so a lot of Slugpups who remember the legends go there imo.
He forgot to mention the spiders 💀
@Dustin Jones Well, pebbles literally unlocks the way to SB from OE, and Gourmand completing the food quest makes his kids healthier for whatever reason. Generally, being capable of acquiring more food is favorable for offspring.
Where do you find the slugpups as Survivor?
how do you unlock outer expanse with gourmand
Have you beat the game yet (I know I am very late on this ) but you can enable it in downpour cheats and unlock slugpups aswell
what happen if three slugpups ending
they behead one beforehand because the cutscene cant support more than 2
Imagine the cutscene but with like 100 pups
Where’s the main slugcats family that was from the very beginning of the game
Probably migrated somewhere else.
@@fyodorkojevin5756Monk is the Slugcat that jumped after Survivor. Its why Monk is looking for Survivor.
@@Victor-056 does monk find survivor at the end of their campaign?
@@maybehbabeh5217 Yeah in Monk's ending you will find survivor with two slugpup. I think they're parents migrated because gourmand's ending achievement is called migration or something.
I do have to ask though: Where did they come from?
one of the pearls suggest that slugcats were purposed organisms made to clean pipes, they probably just found the tree and made it their home after the ancients disappeared
@@snakerat4161 I believe that the slugcats live in nomadic tribes, but due to a perfect storm of environmental factors such as food abundance, being outside the lethal range of the downpours, and defensible space/shelter, they settled around those pink spirit tree-looking things at Journey's End for longer than they normally otherwise would. That dilapidated warehouse looking place seen in some of the other cutscenes likely served as a basecamp for expeditions into the ruins.
How do you do this? I mean How you get to the home tree?
how about monk with 2 children? doesnt he go back to his family
