Goku Vs Saitama ?
I don't think people have problems with the pigs specifically. It's neat that the world feels a little more alive with them actually changing for their environment - it loses yet more of the simple and lonely charm of the original and all that, but we're well past that being recoverable. Whatever. Keep the End as the unchanging, static post-apocalyptic environment that makes it feel like classic Minecraft did and that's fine. No, what people dislike about the update is the pattern it further reinforces, the way Mojang treats updates.
What do you mean? The community is always talking about how Mojang could update old features; at the same time, people hate the fact that things change. "the way Mojang treats updates" has been changing a lot recently. The new drops really bring the update frequency back to something like 1.0
It isn't Mojang's fault half the people want tons of updates and the other half want it to be like old Minecraft.
If you want a game like old Minecraft, the go play old Minecraft.
Man, and here i thought people disliked ugly skins for the pigs...
no TBH i think that´s it, no one cried when they added the wolfs variants, its just that the pigs are ugly, and we will have to get used to it.
Giving skins to something isnt changing it. Its the definition of a paintjob. It is also the definition of a word i will stop using to describe mojang. @BryanLu0
What I'm worried about is that there'll be an overload of mob variants. It's great to have different styles for original stuff but too much of that will make them feel bland and even lazy. Do it sparsely with a good purpose in mind.
I feel them all having a muddy varient to them for if they come into contact with mud would just be a nice touch
Maybe the other variants could even have different plants on their head.
Eg. temperate -> red tulip,
warm -> dandelion,
cold -> poppy
Also as an easter egg, have the hoglin also turn muddy upon mud blocks and have a crimson fungus on their head
Superfluous.
Considering that, naturally generated mud, is in the mangrove, once the pigs leave a mud block they can path to a water block to "clean" and then continue on with their piggy life
@headachepremium Instead of a poppy, the cold one should have those little blue flowers, since that color is more associated with cold.
3:10 I like how this is supposed to be a subreddit video, but Phoenix accidentally found another bug in the new update. I swear, Phoenix has to be a bug magnet for these to be discovered

1:39 that is a feature on Bedrock because at the very beginning of the game's development it did not have sneaking (if I remember correctly)
You are correct, I played PE (and PE Lite) back when there was a finite world size and the nether reactor, there was no sneaking at the time
Should've removed sneaking from java in the name of parity too.
Also, I'd imagine it's difficult to do on a touchscreen anyway.

For last 2 or 3 months.
In one of those old unofficial Minecraft “hacker” book from the scholastic fair I had there was an entire page dedicated to the dinnerbone trick and they made sure to emphasize that pigs have nipples
2:23 suppose you could say the reaction to the new pigs is rather temperate.
I have no idea what y’all on about, I love the new variations of pigs and I’ve been playing since beta 1.3.
What annoys me of the update is all the hype and "leaks" just to end up in some retextured stuff

I don't care what we get, but I was told we were gonna get fireflies and we ain't got them.
The pigs are fine in my opinion, we just need more than 3
overall honestly a decent snapshot. if they added the pig tails and muddy pigs that would very cool though.
I've used mods before that add animal variants and when done correctly it's great! Mojang just needs to put more than 20 minutes of effort into the textures
The reason you're able to place blocks in mid-air on bedrock is because very early on sneaking wasn't added yet. I'm also gonna guess another reason is to make it more convenient for people who play pocket or console.
I think the main issue with the pigs that people are having is that at least to me it feels almost unintrusive or unnoticeable a lot of the time. Like the pigs are cool but there's only 2 new ones and they only spawn in specific biomes so depending on the biome you will either get the same one pig most of the playthrough or a slightly different looking pig instead of the normal one. The only time you will see the different variants a lot is if you are exploring which most people don't do in vanilla because there's not a whole lot of a reason to do so out side of more building blocks.
Yeah, all the new updates in the last however many years have been about encouraging exploration… except, then all the nearby chunks will be loaded by the time the new update comes around… :/
Vanila exploring is really pointless, i need like 20 structure mods to even have POI.
Just... Why?
Wow, you should check that cool birch forest we generated for you! So cooooool! What do you mean 'it's just logs and leaves'? It's CONTENT
The problem is not that they add what the players wanted, but that they add little things as if its a whole new world. I mean, why not add other things to pigs too? like, enhance the control and speed when walking with a saddle on it, or even make a rare variant that drops a better chopsteak, add ears like the pigman or whatever. It just feel like they do the minimum they can
I’ve sometimes wondered if Mojang (or perhaps Microsoft) is terrified of somehow changing or adding something to Minecraft that permanently “breaks” it and stops it being an infinite money printer. So they stick to making “smaller” changes that don’t affect Minecraft much as a whole.
@@hyperon_ion9423It is literally that actually
adding ears would ruin them, but the rest is good
Chill, it's just 2 snapshots...I sure we are gonna get more. Plus, it's a drop, so we can't expect a lot of things to be added once. Maybe we'll see the pig riding improvements in the transportation update or smth like that.
@@hyperon_ion9423if they change something that the community views as super important, everyone will get mad and start crying like a baby. "Oh boohoo they changed 3 pixels", but if they don't, the same people will get upset they didn't change it. The minecraft community sucks
It took me a while to realize that you've been using the amalgamation of the pig textures in your videos instead of the actual new textures. That's why it looks so weird lol

I miss Minecraft Earth. It was so much fun to me.
Why are they chenging the pigs? Who asked for this? I thought the old mobs were safe from the mojang touch :(
they are only adding varients
I genuinely despise modern versions of Minecraft now. They keep changing things that do not need to be fixed and all they ever add is bloat.
I hate the fact everyone says that Mojang prefer Bedrock, like they're not shtting on our heads equally as much
I asked my kid sister about the new pigs, she said that she likes them and that the new piglets are very cute. That's thw type of opinion mojang actually cares about
Exactly. Mojang doesn’t care about the Java player who barely plays, mainly just watches RUclips, and hasn’t spent a dime in the game or its merch in half a decade they care about my niece and nephews who love bedrock in their switch and Xbox, buy maps and Minecraft-branded yogurts and have shown me the trailer four times.
I wish the adult community of this game would stop being like this and instead take a page out of the adult fans of Lego community, understanding that they can enjoy something even if they aren’t the primary audience for that thing.

Adding Java Bullcrap to bedrock 😁🫴
(No more shovel in boat recipe)
Who the fuck complains about a slightly cheaper and easier recipe?
thats litterally more convenient, why are you crying about it?
CAN THEY PLEASE STOP CHANGING THINGS THAT DONT NEED TO BE FIXED
You know, i think part of the pig problem is that java players really dont NEED new cometic animal variants. Mods like optifine already add that and are relatively easy to install. If they actually did something fungtionally different, like the colored froglights or mooshroom mushroom colors, they would have SOME purpose at least.
This! The past like year I've felt no change to minecraft because it's all just cosmetic. Like give me some mechanics man
Cat and dog variants were nowhere near as hated as these pig variants though. And functionally cat and dog variants are only cosmetic
@@skylerheart1257Armadillos, trial chambers, crafters, bundles (finally) and pale garden all came last year. Not exactly all just cosmetic.
@BryanLu0 when were the cat and dog variants added, though? As the game ages, people's wants change too. It might be fun for a first time player but as someone who's played for years i could care less about one little texture change on a mob
@BryanLu0 despite that my craft servers end the same, everyone sitting around bored because the ender dragon is dead. I want objectives, not more sandbox if that clears it up
This is the problem, it looks like mojang just added the pigs variant so that people can't complain the they aren't listening to the fans. The only problem is it was a priority back then but now there are so many much more better feature that should be considered but they instead added this just to say they did something.
The content in the update is _fine_ to me. It's just the removal of old mechanics that I dislike. I think that people hating on the new pigs are just dissatisfied with how the update did very little overall. I think that Mojang needs to make an effort to be more up front in communication with the community about what will happen in the updates rather than teasing it as if it's some big deal. People are always gonna take three emojis and turn it into the perfect update in their mind.
Mojang was more up front with updates, and the community complained. Then they did the updates asked for, like fixing the code, and the community complained, because "NOT THAT CODE!", and they do small emoji teasers, and the community complained... Notice a little trend? The community tends to complain whenever something is ever done, and they just blame Mojang/Microsoft every time, regardless of what it is.
My biggest problem with mojang is how they don't do those small things that take no effort and make the game simply better (like the muddy pig), but rather go out of their way to make the game worse (movement changes)
For bedrock, it actually does show the black outline hitbox on the block you're standing on when you can place another on the front. I'm ambivilant on whether they add it to Java or not. I'd much prefer the crafting book's Right-click-to-craft-item feature. It's like ordering from a menu, but it shows up instantly in your inventory. You can even use it while you have other stuff in the crafting table. And shift-clicking auto-crafts a stack (if able).
If these pigs upset people, I don’t think anything will make them happy.
3:04 how do i still not get this meme
the actual comic itself is not very fun, it's just that the comic has been referenced a lot that it became a joke
kinda like how never gonna give you up isn't a very memey song but it's been used as a gag a lot
I believe the author of the webcomic made mostly funny silly comics untill loss, which was unexpectedly super serious and sad. And since then it's been memed and subtly referenced everywhere.
I never realized muddy pigs were a thing people wanted in Minecraft.
i always hated the idea of more types of pigs i just want the normal pink one, who the heck asked for more types of pigs
I bet we'll see new variants of cows and chickens next. Holstein cows for cold climate, maybe some kind of jungle fowl for warmer biomes.
A black pig and a speckled pig would have been good too since those are much more familiar to most people
2:41 I feel like at this point there should be like newtons 4th law which states that anything with visual substance can be turned into loss within any theoretical plane
rule #idk what number of intert rules there are
Community: Mojang, plese do something with content bloating, please add functionality to ambient mobs

Technoblade never dies, no matter the pig
Xobx 360 is Joking at the corner... (Still good to this day)
if they were going to add pigs, it would have been such a better idea to add actual different variants, like not just ones for different biomes, im talking pink pigs, black pigs, brown pigs, muddy pigs, spotted pigs-- they should really just do this with all animals like they do with horses because why are horses special?
While they’re at it, making Java into Bedrock and all that, how about finally adding that graphics update that they gave up many years ago?

You can't escape Goku, Phoenix. He's too strong.
The speed bridging one was made for console and mobile users who have lesser/slightly more difficult controls compared to pc users.
The reason people (myself included) are so irritated by this is because Mojang hasn't actually given us what we want. We don't want animals that vary by biome. We don't want animals that vary by temperature. We just want animals that vary. We just want blocks that vary. Somehow Mojang thinks updates like this will make us happy, when we've made it overwhelmingly, abundantly clear that what we want is variated textures. It really isn't difficult. Plenty of texture packs do it. If Mojang was actually listening instead of just adding dumb shit that isn't actually what we asked for, perhaps they could release an update the community wouldn't complain about.

This has been said about basically every addition made but for most that goes away after like a month of it being in game
@@submachinegun5737Probably because it's true. Every update feels like a crappy mod pack from 2014, just tweaking random things for no reason
Boohoo, my oldass game is still getting updates 😭
Pretty much no new mob since 1.14 has looked anywhere close to being "Minecrafty"
They look like something you'd see in a crappy mod from 2012; overdone, overly complex, completely missing the simplistic point of the game
As for the pig variants, I don't really have much problem for it. I'm a bedrock player, so a little ambience isn't bad. And while it would suck as a main point update, it's a small thing they whipped up a couple weeks into the new year, presumably as a small side spice for whatever they are working on for Spring Minecraft Live. They're still working on the more interesting ones, and I like ambiance so I don't really have a complaint.
The movement nerf is kinda stupid though. While I get general parity, I feel like allowing the two versions to have a bit of a separate nitty gritty identity is fine, since it has to stay that way anyway (redstone for example). And whenever parity changes do happen, it seems to be removing a cool feature the other version has. For java or Bedrock. Bedrocks suffered a lot of feature loss under parity.
These are my opinions. Feel free to debate them if you feel so inclined.
2:02
Eyy you made Lechon and Longganisa referrences in the video😂🇵🇭
No techno pig D;
The problem is that its just reskins. That’s hardly a drop or an update. They reskinned pigs, added a particle effect they already had to some blocks they already had, reskinned pink petals twice to make wild flowers and leaf litter, and tweaked the lodestone a recipe they already had. And on top of all this, they had the nerve to reskin pigs, and not even add the muddy pig that people really wanted to see. And we the fans are expected to fall to our knees and be thankful for this slop?
They added 2 textures that took about 5minutes to make and call it an update lol
Two skins, one block, and two random things for the floor, and breaking the movement completely. Such an update. Wow. Astounding. Defs worth the wait.
it is a minor update, though ill admit is its just a tad bit too small, mabey they can add a few more farm animal varients, that would make it fully worth it
Bro, it's the first snapshot preview. Just let them so something omg.
Mfw they release small updates after specifically saying they were gonna release small updates
The audacity. The horror.
And every change (outside maybe the block) is bad, too.
You lost it with the word "update".
- Leaves are pretty cool
- I could see why people don't like the pigs, though I personally find them pleasing to look at. They are high quality though.
- Lodestone became more useful
- More datapack-related improvements, map creators still eating _good_
- Change on the movement, "technically" fixing a 15-year old bug. In reality, *this is a bad fix.* This bug became a feature long ago, there are way more downsides than upsides for fixing it now. (as I see it)
Overall, I'd say there's one thing to actually be negative about in this snapshot. The rest are cool additions, that maybe need tweaks but good in its idea. I reckon reverting the movement change specifically is a net gain for the game.
I agree with all of that. I think the new pigs are cute. Seems like too many people are SO allergic to change they just hate anything that's different.
But the movement change is just plain bad, all disadvantage, only advantage is correct math, which doesn't add anything of real value to the gameplay. And takes away what's already been enjoyed for so long.
THAT is the kind of change that should be rejected.

Calling the end of the loss comic a "punchline" is the funniest thing I've heard in a while.
Unfortunately no matter how much mojang does, no matter how they change the way they do things. If an update is smaller then the nether update people are going to complain.
I do not care about the pigs but the new flowers and leaves are nice :D
2 textures should not be an update
You're right, these were 2 snapshots
I feel like the main problem is that updates don't really feel exciting, when you add small features that don't really change much of the game dynamic, people will surely focus mostly on what you didn't add rather than what you did. I think Stardew Valley's last update is a good example of how to actually make small improvements, most things added are quality of life related, they improve gameplay and expand A LOT on features already existing, such as dialogue, random events, the burden of lack of energy in the beggining of the game, it gave new ways for you to experiment and remove certain tasks (such as collecing all golden wallnuts) but at a cost and the choice is yours after all, amongst a sea of other litlle things that just make you feel like going back to 1.5 isn't really a good thing because you will likely be annoyed by some stuff that became clever in 1.6.
