Namaste 🙏 John,I was watching your EBC trekking vlog and didn’t realise you were a watch man,I did EBC trek in November 18 and I took my Rolex explorer 1016 with me and it never missed a beat, stay safe
Nice! I'd love an explorer for just such occasions! I ended up taking a Casio with altimeter, which was functional, but a bit boring. An explorer would've rocked for a trip like that :)
At age 5, I developed my first intellectual interest: clocks and calendars. I still find the subject very interesting. (Details on request.) But wearing timepieces? I just don't see the point. I had a cheap watch that failed in February 2007, months after I bought my first cell phone, and I haven't worn a watch since.
Co axial escapement eh?....Developed by George Daniels and further perfected by Roger Smith on the Isle of Man. Daniels auto biography 'A question of time' is a must read...repairing Breguet clocks and watches and racing Bentleys. There are some good videos on RUclips about George Daniels and Roger Smith. I recommend them to you. I inherited an early 60's Air King Date from my Dad and just love it for its looks and the connection to my dad. I have to save up to get the lockdown crown repaired and get a Role oyster bracelet for it as the original has been mislaid at some stage. I think the smaller sized face looks cooler than the modern 40 mm plus sized faces currently being sold.

Great video! You bring up some great points. Might have to show this to my wife so she can finally understand why I'm a watch nerd.
LOL good luck with that: my wife will never understand, I think--though she does like wearing my watches ;)
Nothing like gears unless you want accurate time.
Generational inheritance will be my answer too
I own the blue dial reference of the Omega SMP 300. Great sports watch. Enjoy yours in good health.
Thanks! I really do adore mine too!
My bling is comments on RUclips videos.
You just like them ,that's enough .
It is indeed. :)
Watches are obsolete. And no longer serve a purpose.
Sure they do they’re primary function is jewelry
