- That Escalated Quickly! Sturgis 2024 Episode 5! We made it after multiple RV problems, a blowout, etc. Immediately after arriving we ran up to see the Badgers at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip, then went to Glencoe, then came back to the Steel Pony. Poor Daniel has had a rough few days… 😂😂😂

Glad to no longer own an RV. Absolute money pits. Even more so than bikes or women. If I ever need one in the future, I’ll just rent…(referring to the RV).

Spend the money and buy an ATC toy hauler. They're all aluminum. As soon as I can, I'm dumping my Work and Play. Nothing rots on the ATC.
On my campers I run 14 ply tires I don’t have those blow out problems

Good year endurance tires. Get a higher load rating than the trailer calls for. Higher the ply the better!
Had em, blew 3 of 4 in 18 months
Check you alignment on that wheel, i used to blow the same tire every 4k, slightly bent axle……

A tire could have enough tread but if it’s old they can separate. I had a trailer tire blow out towing my sidecar rig back from NC. Had a spare and swapped out two new ones from discount tire. Luckily I had a lug T bar to remove the lugs. In my near future an impact wrench. Also getting rid of the stupid security lugs.
I was up there a couple years ago 2 weeks early and it was a little rainy. The side-by-sides had a mud slick from one end of 85 to the other. The next morning, I pull into a carwash just to spray my bike off and they had mud everywhere. There was no escape.
Your tire issue may be because you are overweight for what the RV is rated to haul.
3 bikes, that’s 2,000 lbs. alone not counting clothes etc. Check your weight rating for the RV and then have it weighed fully loaded. I’ll bet that’s your problem.

The tires that come on most RVs are cheap junk tires from China, and so are the cheaper tires you get from tire stores/shops. If you want to be safe and you don't want to have to deal with blow-outs on every trip, put a good set of Goodyear or Michelins on it. They're not cheap, but to me, not having to deal with a blowout makes them worth every penny.

Upgrade your rv tires to a higher load range. Higher weight capacity, stronger sidewall, higher pressure rating. Worth it for me!
They often put the lightest tires available on them
I have seen new trailers where the load rating was less than the empty weight of the trailers

last time in sturgis was 2021 never again the cops blocked bikes on main street and searched everyone,drivers license,insurance,weapons,vin numbers, dui, major traffic jams !! never again !

After having our rig for over a year, I am convinced they make those things out of the shittiest tissue paper materials. We've had 2 blow outs, replaced the roof, the winch, lost 2 license plates and a tail light lense. I feel like it's only just begun....

You need to switch to a light duty truck tire for RV’s. Regular trailer tires are crap, and don’t last.

I'd think before buying a trailer, motor home, toy hauler or anything else like it I'd check the linemen of tge tires. It appears the axles weren't welded on square and are causing tires to blow out. Just my two cents!

This side by side stuff is getting way way out of hand. Iv been seeing people running them down highways. Alot of these things are much larger than most cars on the road. I am very much not that guy to bitch about that kind of thing. I think it's cool as hell alot of towns are letting g people run golf carts and SC on the road with very little requirements but........these assays are going to ruin it all for everyone. I'm suprised it hasn't been stopped across the board already.

I ship my rented Harley to Sturgis & ✈ fly in....Then hop on my rental bike & tell everyone that it's mine & that I rode the whole way. Then I make fun of other people who look like they didn't ride the whole way. To try & hide that I'm a poser.

All RVs made during and after covid are garbage. Most Rvs made pre covid are also garbage. I'm a RV repair tech. No shortage of customers.
