በእግዚአብሔር መታመን | Trust In GOD | Jeremiah 17:5-7

Thus says the LORD:
“Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit." Jeremiah 17:5-8
There are three kinds of trusts.
The first one is trusting man. As the Bible tells us in the above verse, a person who trusts in mere human being is a cursed person. Because trusting and relying on another man won’t protect us from many challenges. Any man by himself is weak and his power is seasonal. The second one is relying, trusting one’s own potential. We call it self-confidence. It is not bad by itself and is very much better than the first one. But when we take it to the extreme, it will be so destructive. Many great leaders and successful people in world history came from this group. But still there are millions of things we can’t handle by ourselves and it will still lead to destruction if taken to the extreme.
The last one and what the BIBLE refers as a blessed man is the one who trusts in GOD. It is GODfidence not confidence. Like Prophet Daniel who prospers in three different kingdoms, we should trust and rely on GDO alone who don’t change when kingdoms shake and situations change under our feet. By then we won’t wither in time of drought, instead we will flourish. So today lets teach ourselves to have a strong trust in the LORD alone and who we are through CHRIST.
