I think you only got 1 of an item some times is because the ammout of the item you would have dug up exceeded integer overflow which would be a negative number, but since you can't have negative items, it resulted in only 1 item. So if I'm correct, you truly have broken the game.
It would make sense, but I don't quite understand how he had single items drops a lot earlier already. It's unlikely that it spiked so high with a lot less lighthouses
I disagree. I think that the reason he's getting 1 of each item is because the number is only multiplied if you would normally dig up more than 1 without resource buffs. If you get 2 sand from one dig, it gets multiplied up to billions. If you get 1, no matter how many resource buffs you have, you'll still only get one. That's the most logical reason.

Hey I might not be the only person to have this idea, but what if rather than encasing the land in lighthouses, you encase the lighthouses with land. Like make a ring around all of the lighthouses of land. And the. Encase that ring with another set of lighthouses. That way you have more land covered by the lighthouses themselves with minimal loss of lighthouse coverage. Might be worth a try.

that sounds like a good guess. But without knowing how the game decides how many of a thing to drop, a bit overflow is just one possibility
It may overflow from 9 quintillion to -something, which becomes 1
