Makes me wish I'd never sold my '66 Mustang. It was my first car bought in '69. I had a bad habit of overheating all the time but it could lay rubber hitting the gas while on the freeway at 65 mph. That acceleration saved my life once when I had just started into an intersection when someone ran a red light on my left. I slammed my foot down and the car missed my rear end by an inch and as they say, an inch is as good as mile. For those who don't know the Mustangs of that era had a lot of parts from the Ford Falcon. For example, underneath the Mustang cover on the steering wheel is a Falcon cover. It was also a bear to change out some of the spark plugs because of the wheel well. I ended up drilling a hole through the wheel well to get to one of them.
Great video. Curious to what size tire the 65 Fastbacks are running. Im currently restomoding my first car a 65 sedan bought in 1975 with the body 2/3 complete just rear quarters and rear subframe left. With that said I will ask a question you have probably been asked 100 times. If I do what is refereed to as the poormans mini tub and roll the fenders what size tire with correct backspacing will fit. Leaning toward MMI front suspension OEM , 65-70 rear kit with panhard and 1in drop spindles.. Subframe connectors and shock tower brace.
