- Heba al-Madhoun, a mother from Gaza, recounts the story of how she gave birth to her son on the same day her husband was killed in an Israeli air strike on their home. Her son, named after his father, Mahmoud, was born eight months into Heba’s pregnancy while she was injured from the strike, having had four of her fingers amputated and internal bleeding in her lungs.

She is a great example to us. Despite what happened to her, she still said Alhamdulilah (praise be to Allah) and showed her gratitude to God.
