I noticed things were going south during an episode of The Newlywed Show where Nick Lachey was judging strippers and it made Jessica Simpson mad. Having different values and beliefs can definitely drive a wedge between you. I think they were meant to be together for a certain period of time but yeah it has been along time since they split up and I'm so happy both of them have happy marriages and children!

That's been a long time age. Reality TV ruined their marriage besides they were very young.
I think they may have lasted much longer together had they not been on TV, but they also would not have gone as far in their career paths without the show. In the end, they both turned out better for it. One thing I did notice in the show was that Nick never seemed very comfortable with the fact that Jessica was more popular than he was and might end up being more successful in the music business. Oh well, cute show. I loved watching Nick and Jess in their early days the best, before the reality shows, back when they used to be in each other's music videos. :D
I think they were just 2 different people. He always wanted to do everything around the house and she just wanted to hire people. Because she was brought up people doing it for her.
