That occasional banter you have with Wambu gets a chuckle out of me every time! Also, you totally deserved a brain break after the last two projects you made; I'd be pooped too if I made remakes of my Top 10 Heroes and Top 10 Villains lists. Don't push yourself too hard, Oscar, because that is the last thing we want you to do!
Personal favorite: Dark Paladin. Might be more of an absorption over avoidance type, but whenever I find Dark Paladin, I just know it's gonna be a good run
No straight roads, darkest dungeons, arms, and now Skull the Hero Slayer. All these games I never heard much about and never played but I gotta say I actually like those lists quite a bit as they're always interesting. Hope you keep making more obscure games lists that you like Green scorpion and who knows. Maybe one day I'll get to try some of them out.
I tried out Darkest Dungeons, Undertale, Celeste, and Skul because of Green Scorp's lists, and the only one I wasn't a fan of was Darkest Dungeon, so I'd say that my favorite RUclipsrs love indie games as much as I do XD
One key thing you forgot to mention with gambler is that both the random chances for his skills decrease your cooldown, a fail by 50% and a success instantly resetting it
Top two skuls to use if you just want to kill everything: predator and berserker (more specifically the upgrade) tied for second place is the clown skull because holy Jesus the damage that thing does with either magic OR physical upgrades.
It makes me grin from ear to ear to see this game (which I should add is going to continue to be updated for a god only knows how long) get more and more attention and appreciation! It's nice to see!

#10 - ...Oh my goodness...even the *name* is a Sun Wukong reference - _Sun Wukong is canonically a stone monkey!_ Sold! Also, I loved your blastthrough of of Honorable Mentions, especially how you described the Mummy, the Berserker, and the Prisoner.
“The samurai’s appeal kinda wears off after a few times.” My man, I finally just beat Skul for the first time with just Neo Samurai and Champion. The final hit to beat the game was a perfect movie-like finisher, where both Skul and the Hero do their dash attacks… He may have had invincibly frames… But not enough. Soooooo…. Yeah, that’s gonna be in my head rent free for a LONG time. So that’s not going away any time soon.
I can't wait for him to somehow make a connection between this game and swimsuits, as per the tease at the end of Top 10 Villains. Even if he doesn't, I'm sure this video will still go *swimmingly*
Lol yeah. Actually the swimsuit/towel comment at the end of villains is referring to another list, it Oscar wanted to slot this one in between for Halloween.
Like you said it is really fun to see other people do their top 10s in regards to their playstyle. I am 200 hrs deep into Skul and I really have a soft spot for the magic skulls. Archlich, Bomber, Alchemist you name it. GIVE ME THAT SWEET MP!

i am laughing so hard. i just watched half the video, and then made one run. in this one run i found the gambler man and found him to be soooo good, to now see him in the video again
Mummy is easily my favorite. Mobility may be lacking, but it’s not much of an issue when you can fire grenades and railguns from the other side of the map. Plus, it synergizes so well with a bunch of items. I remember a ton of runs where I used the crit rate from Thief’s Black Steel Daggers + Flamethrower for a ton of item combos that just shred EVERYTHING.
Dlc for this dropped not too long ago and the new skulls are bonkers! Haven't tried them all yet, but Heracles got me a great run and Gyuan Yu is proving even more fun! Didn't get a good run with the Spartan but I do like it. Only Thor left untried and I'm betting that will be a load on fun. Hope we can hear opinions on the new skulls in passing from you and Wamboi!
I want you to know that this video helped push me to buy Skul now that it's on sale. Friggin amazing game. Thank you, Oscar, for getting me hooked on yet another great game. :)
My first win was actually done with the Clown Skull. Pain and Despair, combined with a shit ton of other attack speed buffs and health additions allowed me to just stand there and obliterate the final boss

As someone who also took up the game after Wambu's video, I gotta judge these picks. 10: Stone Monkey: A strong start to this list. Monkey is a lot of fun to mess around with using his clones, and he can do a LOT of damage for a Speed Skull with those clones of his. 9: Samurai: I ran into a similar problem with Samurai that you did. Real strong and fun, but the lack of variety ended up with me getting a little bored. 8: Clown: Gotta admit, I understand what you see in this guy. Makes me understand why you put Ninja at the unofficial Number 12. Hybrids are rare, but they are strong. 7: Frost Skull: Wait, they removed Hibernation? Dang it, I haven't had the chance to play the new patch with Mage and Davy Jones yet. Frost Skull is one of my favorite Balance Skulls, too. 6: Davy Jones: ...I need to play the new update now. 5: Grave Digger: Oh, heck, yeah! Now we're getting into the good skulls! Grave Digger is amazing, probably one of my favorite basic skulls. 4: Werewolf: Not my favorite skull, but an underrated one to be sure. 3: Water Skull: I am SO happy my favorite skull made the Top 3. Now, let's see what you decide top this masterpiece of a skull. 2: Gambler Skull: Y'know, completely fair pick. Gambler is just plain fun. 1: Gene: So I'm pretty sure that I'm just bad at this game, because I can't play him well. I totally see the appeal and the power he can have when used correctly.
I personally love mummy going pure physical because the weapons are just absurdly fun to use(and unfairly effective), but my personal favorite is Ent, ever since its rework he's become an absolute POWERhouse (pun very much intended)
I don't understand when at around 25:30 you say if you rated the skuls based on fun factor prisoner would be a top tier skul. Not only is he very fun imo because of the absurdity of his kit. He is according to myself and my broader view of the community one of, if not the best skul in the entire game. This comment is a little late but I hope you can elaborate on this comment further. Other than this was a really fun and polished list, I love seeing other people's perspectives on the game, and the gene num1 spot genuinely surprised me. I've never seen that much utility in that skull but I will be trying him out in the future. Water Skul MVP tho.
The best answer I can give you is that fun is subjective. Prisoner Skull is fun, but the fun factor didn't quite hit me as much as it might've hit someone else, especially because I haven't played Dead Cells at the time of making this countdown. I have since picked up the game and it's great. I guess Prisoner Skull just didn't gel with me, and I acknowledge that's totally a matter of taste.
I think Samurai is definitely among my top three. The QuickDraw attack combined with the slash counter mechanic makes this ronin one seriously sweet sweeper
Funny thing about the Gene line: that and Ent were the Skulls I had when I first beat a run in this game, even though I don't like Power skulls by and large.
I first heard about this game when it was introduced at a Nintendo Indie world direct! It looked awesome and challenging. I love this game when I played it even though I suck at it.
Ok, hear me out, ps4 controlers have a vibration feature for those who don't know, and If You ever get champion on ps4 skul, BITCH crank that vibration feature of the controler to the max. EVERY.SINGLE.ONE OF HIS BASIC ATACKS MAKES THE CONTROLER VIBRATE! Wich is the bigest seratonin boost you will get that day, just the OMPH of his atacks and that controler vibrating everytime he hits would make me put him in top 5

Just started Skul yesterday, got Dark Paladin on my 15th run and quadrupled my original run distance.
I love how Skul reminds me of Kirby. Both involve taking abilities with different movesets.
Skul is essentially another Blue Mage, and Blue Mages are cool.

Best consistent skull would be the Werewolf skull. Good attack speed, good special moves and great upgrade looks.
