I remember like 30 years ago, I used to have this book and I'd also listen to the record. This really brings me back to my childhood. I used to listen to Fraggle Rock and Sesame Street records in my playroom in the basement when I was little. I spent so much time listening to them over and over. I guess it really kept me out of my parents' hair. ;)
This is too funny! You can tell the actors had fun with this. I had several FR books as a kid, but I don't remember having this one. I did have the first LP though. R.I.P. Jerry Nelson, Jerry Juhl and Jim Henson, and thanks for the great memories and good times I enjoyed with Fraggle Rock.
That's what I love about these Muppet Book and Recordings. They don't just have the puppeteers read the text, they have the puppeteers act like they're the characters reading the text, giving commentary and giving them the flavor that can only be from a Muppet/Henson production.
If the Fraggle Rock book Gobo Fraggle And The Poison Cackler is a Fraggle Rock episode. There will be a Fraggle Rock Song happening and the Fraggle Rock characters will be puppets. Gobo Fraggle would probably sing in the key of C minor in the Fraggle Rock episode Gobo Fraggle And The Poison Cackler because there's C minor music in the book and Fraggle Rock episode Gobo Fraggle And The Poison Cackler
I have to second that, This book was my first memory I can recall where I felt actually terror. It's been in my psyche for 35 years and for whatever reason I started poking around the net and lo and behold , I have found the poison cackler! The point where the tunnel turns around the corner is burned into my brain in a profound way I dont quite understand.
Featuring the voices of: Jerry Nelson as Gobo Fraggle Dave Goelz as Boober Fraggle Steve Whitmire as Wembley Fraggle Kathryn Mullen as Mokey Fraggle Karen Prell as Red Fraggle

Sounds like they had a blast recording it. Glad you enjoyed it!

You can tell the actors are having fun with this. The way they stay in character is extraordinary.
