Saw you on MyWildBackYard with Spencer. Had to check out your channel. Great stuff! You two did an excellent job differentiating the cellar and recluse spider. Subscribed.
Love all your videos! Next time I would suggest showing or telling us us the difference between a mated queen vs a non mated queen. Like no wings... And stuff like that. 🤓🤓🐜🐜🧡🧡
Where can I get an ant queen? I would really like to start some ant colonies. Edit: there is a huge Formica ant (I think) mound in my front yard. Could I possibly get a queen from there?
I will not going to keep ants myself but still interesting video :) Btw how are your new black widows doing? Are you going to show us how you take care of them?
Question:::::: Starting test tube set ups are for when the queen is new and she is full on wing muscle to feed her young. I got 3 queens now in December all their brood have failed. I could use a guide on how to keep them alive feeding and needs to help her get to spring so she will restart laying and try to build brood pile again. This is a Huge challenge for a novice ant keeper. I see zero guides on this subject just how to keep new queens. Well what about the ones that are not new but still in the box so to speak. How to care for them to get to year 2 and a real founding? This is my question as i hope my queens do not die before spring.
I generally will give small amounts of food to starting queens regardless of if they are claustral or not. I offer small amounts of sugar water once every week or two. Just a small droplet but it’s enough to help stabilize new queens and give them extra energy. You can also start to offer small pieces of insects but many queens won’t go for that.
He’s a film student that has capitalized on overreacting to insect stings. His other content is decent for young children, although there are many instances of misinformation and fear mongering sprinkled throughout. In short he does not have the Jack’s World of Wildlife seal of approval haha
Couldn't have said it better myself pal. I think a lot of the time he does a disservice to the subjects he's making content on because people who don't know any better look to influencers like you guys to educate them & he's not educating people in a positive way most of the time. I share your stuff with my relatives but I won't share his stuff anymore - I try not to watch his stuff now! Thanks.
This would make an interesting series, starting and keeping ant colonies.
It’s great to have you back! I’ve missed your videos! Your videos I could watch for hours! Keep them coming!
We love you Jack.
Whooooo my dude's back🤙🤙
I love this content! When it’s too cold for the animals, it’s great see something different! Very interesting!
One of the longest outros I've seen. lol
Good vid! Glad you're branching out on your channel!

Yes, they should fly out in warmer months after rain. Look for winged or recently de-winged queens wandering around then

Sure! I’ll update on them once I get them all set up!

he means once the batteries are fully charged and he's figured out the remote control settings
1:43 All of your videos are "How To..." videos. How to appreciate nature. How to find various animals. How to etc. etc. etc. 😁👍
Good point 😂

Here's a nice tip: instead of cotton balls use marshmallows. It contains sugar and proteins 😂
what about her brood?
How long will an ant queen live in this kind of setup? It looks like a very efficient way to start a colony!
She can live in there as long as the water reservoir is good! A small colony of about 6 workers can fit comfortably in a large test tube nest
Hey jack. What is your opinion of Coyote Peterson?

this music is getting old
Find me some new songs and email the files please 💖 I’ve got too much cinematic music and heavily themed stuff. Need like ambient stuff.
