I fucking unironically rock out to Islands almost everyday of my life since I heard it, I don't understand how it flopped so hard at the time! I feel like Nick really wasn't confident enough in his own singing which is a shame because imo he sounds better than Limahl.

Couldn't imagine Limahl singing this. Nick's vocals are powerful. His bass playing is shit hot too.
Limahl is a great guy and great singer he got the raw deal told to leave the band
I feel the same way...I think they good without him....especially when they did the big apple..song...that's my favorite.....
And unlike many other musicians at the rime, he was not afraid to move forward with technology. That's The Chapman Stick he's playing there.
Actually, Limahl did sing this one time. I still prefer this version because it sounds a lot more genuine
