Thank you so much for your reaction to our collaboration with Home Free on this song that has meant so much to so many throughout my career. Yes, I am COUNTRY! haha. Your raw reaction is amazing and we need people like you to help us fight bullying. God Bless You.
as a teenager, this song hit hard and too close to me when you released it. as a mother of two boys that have struggled for every achievement they have since their respective premature births (2003 & 2006) this collaboration just simultaneously brought a heart shatter 💔 and a mama bear protection. 🐻 It was beautiful then and it's beautiful now, you made a timeless one. ❣👩👦👦
I love Mark Wills, grew up with him! Cant believe its been over 20 years ago when this song was released. That is his daughter singing with them. Love Home Free! I love your reactions, you are a awesome, keep up the hard work!
LOVE... That's the answer!!! What a message, what an example!!! Watching this, I wanted to smack the crap out of the bullies. What a lesson, to see the bullied boy understood, there was something more going on! He fixed the bullies, lunch!!! We can ALL learn a lot from this! Just BEAUTIFUL!!! ❤️
Unfortunately, his act of kindness might end his bullying, but it much more likely that his level of bullying will escalate with them demanding more and more. Nice fiction, but a very unlikely result.
I know, bullies PISS ME OFF!!! Mad love and respect to Home Free. Everytime I think they can't impress me more with their talent and their goodness, they do.
If you go back, you'll see that they packed 3 lunches. So, he still had his own lunch after giving each of the boys one. This song has always made me cry. Mark Wills released it back in 1998. I didn't know about October being anti-bullying month either. But I knew if Home Free was involved, it was gonna be perfect! When you think you can't possibly love them more, they do THIS and my respect for them skyrockets again. And true to form, they leave their egos at the door. They let Mark and his daughter shine while they stayed mostly in a supporting role. Using their platform once again to put a much needed message out front and center! I have mad respect for these very special men! And I was with you, those little punks pissed me off too. But knowing Home Free, I knew it would end up being ok. But I wanted to nab those little brats and shake some sense into them. Great reaction as always! ❤
Yeah, that was the part of the video that touched me the most. Instead of being mad that they were taking his lunch, he took the opposite approach and shamed them both by his kindness. That is being a boss right there.
The part in the video when the boy gives the other 2 lunch bags it's actually a call back to the original video from 1998. The only difference from the original is that it had the homeless guy getting bag lunches from 2 boys at school who saw him digging food out of the trash earlier in the video
It’s fun, watching you deny “country music”, as you get wrapped up in the beauty of a Home Free performance time after time. Welcome to their emotions trap.
I love Home Free and it is great to see them taking this on. Not the best way to deal with bullies, but I was harassed in Jr High (13-15 years old). A couple boys would follow me around making sexual comments. I ignored them until one touched me. I backhanded him so hard I broke his nose and cheekbones. I'm now 42 and still that bullying affects me. I hate bullies.
Yes - you said it yourself, my brother. He shared with them. He wanted them to have the lunches, so they would understand kindness. In that simple act of love, he gave them 10 times the grace they ever deserved - and they knew it. So when they accepted it, and shook his hand, they showed that they had grown up - maybe just a little bit, and maybe just temporarily - but for a minute, they got it. And for a bully, a minute can become a lifetime... maybe. This video, and the song, are SO powerful! Spreading the love, one funky shirt at a time... Amen, my man - Amen.
i absolutely love this song and the messages it sends to the listeners, the fact that he as the victim packed 3 lunches not because he was tired of loosing his lunch but because he understood that these boys could be taking his lunch not because they specifically are bad people but because they themselves either couldnt afford thier own or they didnt have time to make one for themselves because of potentially abusive parents or family issues of some sort, just remember bullies could be bullies for a reason, that doesnt make it right, but it helps to understand and overcome and will teach yourself to rise above and be the bigger person, setting an example
I agree with your take. Most of the time that I got in trouble as a youth was because I interjected into a bullying situation. I don't regret a minute of it, consequences be damned. Peace, Love!!
This is such a great renewed version of this song.. it was already a tearjerker years ago when it first came out, and Home Free took it to a new level with their supporting harmonies..
It’s such a sweet ending. He was the bigger person by giving them lunches. Mark Wills has a beautiful voice. I didn’t know the song before. The actors were so good. Usually bullies have been bullied themselves and are very insecure. Good reaction SR!🥰
This was me my entire childhood. I cried when I saw this as it brought back memories of being bullied. I was a dancer for many years (ballet and freestyle), but I kept it hidden all thru school. I didn't want to give the bullies more ammo against me. Now I'm 60 and they are JUST NOW finding out. Many asked why they never knew. My answer was simple. I didn't want to be picked on for anything else. My answer received silence. They knew what I meant. I went on to be a social worker for children and elders. I couldn't protect myself as a kid, but I could protect others as adult. If your reading this, teach your children to be kind and to have empathy. One day, they might need that favor returned to them in their personal lives. Blessings to all God's children.
Thank you for reacting to this song. It is one that can make you cry or get mad, just hard to deal with knowing some kids don't know right from wrong. I drove a school bus for 30 years and a lot of those years I had special needs students on my bus. Those kids were amazing and I loved being their driver. I had all kinds of students with different problems, but I have to tell you they were amazing. While I was driving I would make up songs and have them laughing. I even had a song about a cockroach, they loved it! Couldn't have had a better job. All of these kids/people need much better treatment. Thanks again for a great reaction.
I wish they had filmed more of the little girl artistically signing the song in ASL. My daughters are deafblind, Usher's Syndrome, and my younger son would get in to fights,3 or 4 times a month. The school had a special needs section and boys would go pick on the kids. He would tell them to stop and they didn't. So he would punch them. The school had a no violence clause,so both parties would be charged.
The lunches at the end makes me think of my Papa. When he was still working, my Granny would pack him a lunch in one of those classic Stanley brand metal lunch boxes... and he worked outside, year round so she always packed him snacks and lunch. Well for snacks she would pack him a couple of PB&J's and maybe a couple Nutri-Grain bars. Well when a new guy came to work for him he notices that he never saw him eat anything. So he started having my Granny pack double the snacks so that his worker at least had a little something. And he is not a person that enjoys praise... he just does things because they're the right thing to do. He's definitely one of a kind. Anytime we'd get out of the car at the house, he doesn't lock the car up. But if you say, oh you didn't lock it, or, oh I'll go lock it. His response is always the same, "Babe if someone steals my old pick-up, they must need it more than I do."
Amazing song and video and message. Very well done. My Granddaughters were being bullied last year. I believe my one Granddaughter Emily is still being bullied. She doesn't want to report it because she is afraid it will just.make it worse. I hate it for her. Can't stand bullying
I was bullied in grade school for having RED hair. I will be 69 next month. It's stays with you. I still remember crying all the time. My health won't let me dye my hair anymore. My husband of 47 yrs loves my red hair. I still don't like the color Red. So glad Home Free put it out there front & center. That's why us "home fries" love them. Every one did a great & awesome job on this beautiful song.
I feel you. I am 50 and I still feel like the odd person out because all through school I was teased because I read a lot and had a good vocabulary. It stays with you. I don't think I realized how much until hearing this song doubled me over in pain. You aren't alone.
I too will turn 69 next month. Also, like you, I was bullied throughout my school life. I knew my bullies were abused at home by their father. Back when we were kids, no one talked about abuse or bullying. Little ladies were supposed to hide the fear & shame and just “put a smile on your face and quit crying.” I’m sure you heard similar statements. Every time I heard that, I ground my teeth. So, my sister of another mister, you are not alone. If your hair still bothers you, wrap you hair in a scarf, grab a hat and don’t let those bullies continue to have power over you. Bless you. You are stronger than you think. FYI, my bullies kept at until they wound up doing life without parole. Do you know what happened to your bullies?
They act now that nothing ever happened. I don't see them very much at all unless there is a death in of our 8th grade class. High School was not that bad except for the bus rides in 9-11 grades. My senior year I rode a different bus. Things got better then. Still hurts, but, I can't mess with my hair anymore. I have diabetic neuropathy, so hair color don't bother me as much now. Still don't like the color red. My husband of 47 yrs loves my hair.
It was fun seeing you in Sweet and Low's rehearsal livestream today on Austin's channel! This is a beautiful song with an equally important message. Thanks Nick! #HFSharpDressedManCover 🖤🍟
1. I love your reactions. 2. I been on the receiving end of this many times. It took me darn near 50 years to admit it. 3. It still happens and it destroys lives. 4. what you see here is mild in comparison to what really happens
So beautiful, I cried!!! Don’t understand bullying, never could! 🥲 Unfortunately, it does happen😢. Beautiful song for a beautiful cause!❤. Thanks for another great reaction!👏👏👍
Great reaction! How could anyone not be shocked at this. Unfortunately, bullying is something that still happens so often by children but also by adults. A beautiful collaboration. Mark Wills is a great singer. And then my favorite Home Free in the background sounds fabulous. A beautiful song and video with a sad subject and important message. I know what bullying is. Not by children, but by the teachers. It's so good that it's getting attention. Because bullying has to end. Think about what you're doing to someone like that. I never told anyone before. I let it go and thought I could handle it. And although I am not assertive, I often helped and supported the bullied people. But I developed a fear of failure and inferiority complex about it. Fortunately, I had and have very dear family and friends around me, who unconsciously dragged me through it. It was only when I was 57 years old that I went to therapy for it.
Kill the bullies with kindness, but it very hard to do when it happens everyday to you. when i was in middle school 8 grade i think, our high school was in the same building, there was an upper classman, that everyday he would catch me alone and take my lunch money, and if i said no he would kick me a few times then spit on my hair. He told me if i ever told anyone, he would pound the shit out of me. i was afraid and hated going to school everyday. That was many years ago, we both still live in the same town. every time i see him those memories still haunt me. He is not a well liked adult either
I’m with you bro. Kids today are cruel and bullies run rampant today! I stayed in trouble growing up for taking up for the kids that wouldn’t stand for them selves! So wrong anytime!
Thanks nick. It was great seeing you in Sweet + Low's live stream. Mark Wills is Country. HF and Mark did a great rendition on Marks song. Love that HF has done a song the last 2 years about bullying or treating people wrong. #HFSharpDressedManCover
I think he wondered if they bullies were in a bad situation and were also hungry so he was trying to help them too. Mark Wills is the original artist to this song.
It was great seeing you in the Sweet and Low rehearsal livestream. I've always loved this song and this message, and they presented it well. Thanks for the reaction! #SharpDressedManHFCover
Thing is, what if the two bullies were brothers growing up in an abusive home and thought what they were doing was just how life is? If their parents just didnt care if they ate or not? If they were homeless? You just never know. They get shown kindness and maybe things will turn around for them...
by giving them the lunches, the young man was not caving .... he was doing the christian thing of turning the other chhek, loving the other, an providing a positive roe model
You are just plain in love with music. They teach you you how to roll that Italian "rrr" 1st thing. Suggest the "Three Tenors" album from 1994. Then do "Three Mo' Tenors" -- the black tenors who felt left out !!!(that was a joke), Music is music and the Italian method of singing is the best for long life of the voice. You have great timbre in your own voice. Opera is great for breath control if you want.
If you listen to Brooks and Dunn, one of country music's most popular duo's song, "Believe", you will become a country music fan. Try me out on it and see! George
RUclips does a horrible job of legging people know, sometimes, when things are happening on its platform. That's been the case for a number of years now. I think that the message, or part of it at least, with the two bullies who were stealing his lunch like that was that, though they were harassing him, yes, the reason, if it can be called such, was because they didn't have anything to eat. We don't always know what someone else's circumstances are, WHY they do the things they do. WHAT they do might be messed up, might be unintelligible from where we stand, but could, not that that's always the case, have a deeper meaning, a cry for help without thinking anyone would care enough TO help if you only asked. If all you're taught, and it's reinforced over and over again in your daily life, that the only way to get what you need is to take it from others...Well, you can see the result. That's no excuse...but it MAY help to explain SOME situations. As for Sweet N Low's practice session that they broadcast...how much fun was THAT, huh? Just getting to hang out while they do what they do...super special, at least for me. #HFSharpDressedManCover
I love you videos man! Just discovered your channel. I suffer from anxiety as well. If I'm having a bad day, I listen to some Bo Burnham. He's hilarious. Lol idk if you know who that is or not, but check him out when your feeling anxious. Or some NF! He's such an amazing rapper! His music is nothing but real. And alot of it is super relatable. Keep up the good work man! Your awesome! 😁💚💙
Two causes that create bullying kids, there are more but I will focus on just 2. 1) the bullies are abused at home & 2) watching their parents be bullies. Are you teaching your kids to be bullies? Here is just one question, of many possible questions possible. When someone has a different opinion than you do, do you ask them why they hold a differing opinions, or do you start screaming at them & get 30 friends to scream at them too? If you scream at them, you are a bully.
I also wish the 2 boys had done something in return. Being honest here, just apparently buying their friendship at the end was not very satisfying to me. The song seemed to be about more. It was about empathy for all. So that was the connection between the song and the video, rather than the simply stop bullying message at the end. Still blubbered through the whole thing.
I know what you mean. I was teased all through school. I know from experience that being nice to bullies doesn't change their hearts like the video shows. I know why they filmed it that way - nice message, nice resolution - but it didn't ring true to me. It just reminded me of all the advice I was given as a teenager about how to fit in and how to act to keep from being teased. It never worked and it just reinforced for me that the problem was with me because I was different. I am fifty years old and I still feel like an outsider looking in. I liked better the part where he and the girl worked together. Sometimes the only answer is finding a few close friends who are treated the same way.
@@katrinaprescott5911 I guess I'd really worry about where they might find friends. Hopefully, they don't rely on social media. That appears to be very dangerous at present.

The compassion of that young man, recognizing that the bullies are hungry...and having empathy...stupid video making me cry.
Mark Wills , who sang in this video, gave you a comment here. What an honor! Loved your reaction!
He made extra lunches so he had one too. He was killing them with kindness.
I would have loved it if they all walked away together, they were hungry and he’s a great dude and they could be friends
Unfortunately, his act of kindness might end his bullying, but it much more likely that his level of bullying will escalate with them demanding more and more. Nice fiction, but a very unlikely result.
Because you know right from wrong, you have character
I know, bullies PISS ME OFF!!! Mad love and respect to Home Free. Everytime I think they can't impress me more with their talent and their goodness, they do.
These guys always find a way to support worthy causes.
Love how mad you got at the bullies! Great reaction!
And this is why we love Homefree ❤️
If you go back, you'll see that they packed 3 lunches. So, he still had his own lunch after giving each of the boys one. This song has always made me cry. Mark Wills released it back in 1998. I didn't know about October being anti-bullying month either. But I knew if Home Free was involved, it was gonna be perfect!

@@gametime2473 Kill 'em with kindness.
It's sad but this stuff really happens.
Mark Wells is an amazing country singer.
The one getting bullied was the bigger man. The is so needed. Thank you Mark Wills and Home Free.

Awesome video with awesome message to STOP bullying!
This is such a great renewed version of this song.. it was already a tearjerker years ago when it first came out, and Home Free took it to a new level with their supporting harmonies..

Turn up the volume!
Technically this is Mark Willis song redone by home free and Mark.
Always enjoy your reactions. Have you seen HF’s new song save the world please react to it! it is an Austin Brown original.
perhaps the whole reason for the "bullies" coming on to him, was that they did not afford their own lunches? Economically poor parents?
Two causes that create bullying kids, there are more but I will focus on just 2. 1) the bullies are abused at home & 2) watching their parents be bullies. Are you teaching your kids to be bullies? Here is just one question, of many possible questions possible. When someone has a different opinion than you do, do you ask them why they hold a differing opinions, or do you start screaming at them & get 30 friends to scream at them too? If you scream at them, you are a bully.
Bru the world is that way and, it’s sad!

No...that's what bullies do
I also wish the 2 boys had done something in return.
Mark Willis' original video is much better than Home Free
Weren't you watching?
The video doesn't match the song at all. The original video is a better representation of the song.
