Hi! Yes it did rain in July, maybe 3 days out of the 7 days when we were there. But rain is quick there and lasts only a couple of hours and the rest of the day was clear and beautiful.

We did not have to take taxi in Maldives, so I am not sure. Straight from airplane in airport we took a boat to the resort.
