I pulled the trigger on both aquarius and atmosphere. I love strymon but couldn't be arsed with the presets. This I can still do on the fly and change. Thanks for the video bro! I bought them both after watching your video!
Thanks for your demo! i like the explanation you give of every type. My pedalboard was stolen a couple weeks ago so i'll replace my hof2 with this guy. Cheers!
Very nice review, thanks! There are a lot of testing pedals videos with electric guitar. Especially for Reverbs I would like to hear some tests with acoustic guitars.
This one is better than most. Generally, an overrated effect. Only a few pedals truly get it right, most sound jittery. This Joyo seems to do a really good job, maybe my favorite shimmer, which i wasn’t expecting! Also trust me on this, using a lot of shimmer will make people in the future say ‘ah this came out sometime between 2016 and 2026.’
@@DC_Sings It would have to have a pickup installed, usually that would be the under-saddle type. Strictly speaking that is an electro-acoustic. That is the kind of guitar that we mean.
I use one of these and I'm here to tell you it's a stunning piece of kit. I also use a TC Electronic Hall of Fame 2 , which is a rather different reverb/shimmer/cosmic device. Both are amazing and absurdly affordable. Before you fork out a fortune, take a punt on one or both of those units.
Hey my friend,I think I'm going to add it to my pedalboard, this pedal arrives in Chile with a very low price, I see that it has a very solid construction and exceptional sounds, maybe I changed the knobs
I have the Walrus Audio Descent on my board, and like the way this sounds. Makes me consider selling the Descent and get this and pocket the difference in price.
The JOYO is compelling, but I'd say the Boss has a higher quality of sounds, with more interesting variety. You also get stereo in/out with Boss. And there's also about $100 price difference...
Glad it helped! Trails just means that if you kick the pedal off, the trail of the effected sound will continue and decay. Otherwise, when you kick it off, the effect will abruptly disappear.
Finally got my atmosphere. Love it to death. Better than the TC HOF2 for me or the Afterneath, or the Fathom. I've had those all. But i love this one the best. SO damn dynamic.
curious if you’ve used this with ambient synth pad sounds, and how the shimmer/church effects compare with HOF2 (both of which are in my shortlist to use with a MicroFreak)
@@mrjohnnytoobad I have the Microfreak and I think this pedal is made for guitars. You can hear the effects but if you're after otherworldly ambient sounds from synths then look somewhere else. The Joyo can do basic reverb sounds well enough but it doesn't really excel with long trails and pitch shifting bladerunner vibes which is what I'm after when I play with my synths.
thanks for watching! I wish I could remember what guitar I used - I've done better about noting that in description. Likely my Jennings Voyager Deluxe.
My thoughts exactly. I think this pedal from joyo won me over though the pockverb is cheaper and has the delay option as well. The sound of this pedal is on a diff level though

Thanks for the video! The pedal gives a full wet sound (killing 100% the dry signal)?
This is ridiculous. I think it's time we stop acting like joyo is on the outside of big brands. First of all this pedal will stand against any reverb pedal and it's not cheap. Maybe low in cost but not cheap in build. It's incredible we have joyo pedals.
To be honest, I would choose the Aquarius personally. I was impressed with a number of the delay sounds in that, and really enjoyed the looper. There were a couple sounds I really liked in the reverb (Forest specifically) but aside from that it didn't impress me as much as the Aquarius did.
mmm, I'm a big fan of the Flamma, I'd give that one the edge. And it's stereo. I haven't compared both side by side, don't think you can go wrong for the price on either, but I'd give the slight edge to the Flamma.
This is ALL just this ONE pedal? Not going through ANYTHING else? If so....I'm getting it. It's on Amazon for 65 bucs. Imagine what Gilmour could have done with this in the 70'
Yes. That’s my experience with these. There’s not enough tone adjustment to get a less aggressive and more natural tone. I think this pedal has its place - it’s really well made, has excellent functionality, very useable - well beyond its price point. However the shimmer I find is not great. Overall the tone is quite artificial generally and does not compare to something like a Hall of Fame let alone the great ambient reverbs such as the Neunaber which to be fair come at a much bigger price.
Explosions in the sky vibes with that Pulse setting
Love Explosions in the Sky!
Holy shit someone else knows explosions in the sky🤯
@@cedricbarber8883 what's the explosions in the sky??
@@Allguitarinfo Explosions in the sky is a band. They wrote very melodic, in depth songs, no vocals just music. Song reminds me of their style.

Great demo! Love what Joyo is doing with this line.

thanks for show us these great sounds, the best cost in reverb effects
I love that shimmer is now like a promised stock item in decent reverb or delays
As it should. Shimmer for life!

Some great sounding algos in there & nice job playing to the effect 🤜🤛
thanks my friend!
i bought it for acoustic guitar! Is just great!!! I recommend it!
Same here.
Could you tell how to use it for my acoustic guitar
@@DC_Sings It would have to have a pickup installed, usually that would be the under-saddle type. Strictly speaking that is an electro-acoustic. That is the kind of guitar that we mean.

They really are quite impressive for the money!
HOF2 is almost double the price of Atmosphere where I live🥺.
@@MangiferaIndica918 The HOF2 is programmable and offers lots of tricks, but I prefer the Joyo. Go on, treat yourself.

Nice video. What effect is this in 0:00?
It's a reverse loop being processed by the Atmosphere. I think Atmosphere was in Forest mode.

I was searching what pedal i going to buy ;i Saw the furhman rv 1 sounds good to me ; this pedal "joyo " It seems to me a little sharp
I found the pedal to be on the brighter side as well, and a bit harsh in some settings. The tone knob helps. I haven't played the Furhman
