He touched the tapes, he even said it a few times himself, he knew before the meeting that he would be excluded for tape touching, this is why Sigalos pulled back, why is Carter so confused!
Not confused. Just a whiny Brit that suffered from sever cognitive distortion and debilitating narcissism. Imagine having that constant whining at a family dinner! Better for the world that he uses our air no more.
Considering the referee didn't have the technology of video & replays they have today I think he made the right decision. Penhall had the racing line and Carter basically bottled it.
@@martynhepworthArchiveSpeedway thanks. Thanks too for all of your footage it is so good to see. I was a White City fan from 76-78 and Rye House from 76-80. The memories are amazing. I had a bike, but never rode. Made my son do a lap at Rye House on his tricycle when it was shut in the ‘90s 😂

Charging at the tapes is pushing them to the extreme, quite often repeatedly. Carter's front wheel was completely over the start line the first time he pushed them. If you want to see some examples of charging the tapes have a look at almost any Ivan Mauger or early Ole Olsen videos, they were masters of it and used it as a bit of kidology to unsettle the other riders at the start. Personally I think the present rule has gone too far. Now riders are excluded for just moving at the start. Quite often this is because some referees hold riders way too long on the green light causing the clutch to drag the rider into the tapes.
when you read kennys book which I haven't but I understand what someone said they said although he and Bruce Penhall were rivals they were never enemies also Kenny was also friends with Shawn and Kelly Moran Lance King rode for Bradford Kenny did not like Hans Neilsen 😢
The U.S.A. riders of the time were very approachable and popular with the English crowds whereas some of the English riders were quite aloof so the fans would be divided with their support. Remember watching a young lad asking Michael Lee for his autograph and being told to f*** off, this never happened with the U.S. guys who were always happy to give the fans their time. Carter was never popular with most fans outside of Yorkshire.
I am not sure what you mean by that. There is a green light which tells riders to prepare for the tapes to go up & a repeater light telling the starting marshal to get clear. There should be a 2 second delay between green & tapes up but this was not always the case.
@@paulspence2645 I have still got no idea what you mean. Even 40 years ago there was a green light. You can see when it comes on because the riders stop looking forward; they look down & rev their engines. The starting marshal walks away at the same time. Tapes were introduced c1930 so I doubt there is anyone alive who remembers the sport before them.
@@onepunchgeorge9251 Dang, I doubt it. Most speedway is in the southern California area in the US. OH, and get ready to unlearn everything you learned about riding a motorcycle. My advice when you try it. Just concentrate on lowering your lap times when you get out there and don't worry about style. There is only one fast way around the track and you'll get it sooner or later.

Thanks for doing these videos. This one seems like pretty high quality for the day.

I agree, good surprises me
Ah typical TV _ anything for a wind up... To be fair, he had a point on Segalos. Look where he is when the tape is released...
I hate seeing anyone get DQd for that. The fans want to see the best riders out there. Imho
Yep!
Well it clearly he hasn't grown out of his adolescence.. it's always someone else's that's done wrong.

I think he obviously had problems. His demise and the sad circumstances back that up

Spot on and Penhall didn’t touch him!
Where was this? That stadium looks brutal, the fence and the lamp stands. Is it Foxhall heath?

Did he ever admitted to doing anything wrong or was he always a victim ?
He was probably a Liverpool fan
Was there ever any other Kenny Carter? Troubled soul who was never taught how to lose.

Lie the bike on the swinging foot rest let the back wheel spin saves the clutch thats what my grasstrack rider husband says.
Missing it so much ,but not a bad substitute thank you
" Look at Sigalos " !
Kenny Carter - hero. Would have added numbers to attendances no problem if he had been racing today!!
Er - Kenny Carter tried to kill his wife and children. Hero? I don't think so.
What a tragedy with Kenny rip
Always the victim Carter! Until he made his wife one as well when he shot her! Despicable person he was.
Bloody right Andy. Kenny Carter was a totally despicable human being.
50 horsepower alcohol burning high revving thumper on a bicycle frame!

Kenny Carter one of the best British speedway riders ever
But a massive smacked arse.
i AGREE AS PATHETIC AS HE WAS A HUMAN
Tough times thanks for the down LOAD ❤❤❤❤❤
Is that a young Mark Loram in the background ?
Probably not. Mark would have been about 10 at the time. I guess you meant the youngster in the yellow shirt? He looks older than that to me.
good video... probably said that before, but just in case .:)

Moved it yesterday. Mot has run out.
