Levi's growls have gotten so much better over the years. Ryan's voice has aged like fine wine as well. Definitely one of the few bands that made bangers as teenagers and yet are still making bangers
Idk what you were listening to but the older albums voclas were wayy better. Hisbscreams have gone down hill but its still good tho

I didnt care much for their 3rd album and kind of forgot about them for awhile, then one of their songs came on when I started my truck and my iTunes connected, so I decided to go see if they’ve put out anything lately. This new album had banger after banger. They’re back!

My father was never there for me. The pain that caused ripples through to my personality to this day. From the bullying with no one to show me how to fight or have a backbone... to learning how to shave on my own or play basketball... all the way to my early adulthood with zero ability to get women to like me or how to understand them when they do. All of that is in this song somehow!
Now i have 2 kids and the fear to repeat or worsen the mistakes of my father echo in every decision i make. I take into account how i felt then to how my boys feel in any given situation. But "I will not stand in the shadow of your demons" instead, i will be their immovable stone. Its all for them because ive never had this. Thank you for making someone as dead inside as i feel most days cry. I feel the need but i never can. Because i rather lock it all away to be their rock. The fact this song manages to be this metal amd convey such emotion is stunning. 100/10 because yal broke my scale. Rock on 🤘

Hey Mister came out 10 years ago and this song is like a cathartic release from the sadness it conveyed.
Holy smokes, isn't that SO true. I just heard this yesterday on Nik's channel and I immediately thought, after listening, about 'Hey Mister' and I was thinking about the personal growth that must've happened there.
To me it's a reference to Hey Mister and Levi's situation as a father now, that's why it makes me feel like there's a huge stone in my chest. Want to be like him.

I love when people that dont get the genre say “wait that one guy just stands there and screams? Well doesnt take much talent” i want anyone who claims such to try and sing one god dam full song like that. These monsters of vocals give themselves things like vocal cord nodules, laryngitis, THROAT CANCER?!?! Just to pour there hearts out. Most people CAN NOT do what they do and they think bc its not singing or melodic its not music. On the contrary, this is raw talent in its most visceral form. Its mean to send a fire through your veins. If it doesnt your mind simply isnt unlocked to the sound.
