I`ve been a fan of Sonata Arctica since 1999/2000 as a 6 year old, and I never really changed that, even when the music took a new path. I have to admit that I did struggle more and more with the albums after Winterheart`s Guild. Unia was extremely strange to me, and happily, The Days of Grace album was as close to perfection you can get. I had a feeling they were back on track, but after that - I have struggled massively. A few songs every album were fine, and the rest never really hit me as the older ones did. And "I have a Right" is a song I still struggle massively with. I can`t even explain it. The song us well made and must be fun to do live, but I just can`t handle it. I started to question if they just felt this change was something they wanted, or if it was a forced maneuver in order to be able to continue as an active band. I kept going through with my dedication for the band, and I finally got to see them live in 2019 before the pandemic hit. They toured with the Talvio album, where I had like 2-3 songs I liked. That being said - the live show was amazing and I remember standing there with tears in my eyes when the concert was over - finally being able to see one of my favorite bands live. This interview gave me so many answers, and I feel really happy of the fact that I kept loving Sonata Arctica because of who they are, and not just what they do. As a fan, nothing really is more important to me than having the group themselves be happy with what they are doing and taking their health in consideration. That makes me happy. If we will never have an album like Reckoning Night or those before that, I can say "fine, I`ll accept that" as long as I get to see the band members on stage smiling many more times in the future. I really would love a more metalsound though, but if they are gonna go for the accoustic one, I guess I will have to adapt. "Give me some time, Mr. Kakko!" - famous last words from a diehard fan.
Thanks so much for share this beautiful interview with us, me as a fan of Sonata Arctica really appreciate that kind of videos, thanks again and happy holidays! 😊🙏🏼
Such a great interview, and I love how candid Tony is. I hope the label will invest in Tony and bring us more SA shows to the US, I will be there for sure!!
What a great interview. Pretty much a straightforward conversation of several topics. Thank you for this. Really enjoy your work, and glad to know about Tony and Sonata's life and plans
So 2 acoustic albums confirmed, a potential 3rd one and a normal metal album for the end of 2023, sounds great! The acoustic stuff may not be everyone's cup of tea, but at least the band ae still going! Support them!
Watching from the UK as I am a big fan of Sonata, and what a smashing interview, very good with the words, interesting and full of energy. Thank you sir!

Super hyped for the Acoustic Adventure album. The Rest of the Sun Belongs to Me sounds great. Can’t wait to hear the rest.

Storm The Armada is a modern Sonata classic for me. Good interview!

@@LastofAvari Thank you so much, that means a lot :).
Spread the word!
Tony speaking about talking to the guy that composed Wolf and Raven to have him explain why there's so little room for breathing 😅😆
Awesome interview!
Wolf and Raven sung lower, it sounds more menacing.
