- In this episode of Hermitcraft Season 10, Mumbo builds up all the wire frames for the future builds in the Hermitcraft Survival Multiplayer Minecraft mega base. Having struggled with building inspiration and some filming setbacks, we are back on the Hermitcraft server for some big Minecraft building action. This lays the groundwork for the next few months of Hermitcraft base building!

im imagining either there never actually were any of these townspeople or theyre all gone (maybe some disaster in the scientific research building) and mumbo has decided to play each of their roles
You could put a machine in the farmhouse that every so often opens a block to reveal a skeleton, who shoots you, and then it closes. Then it is dangerous to trespass on the farmer’s land. Bonus points for having some sort of sound that sounds like an angry farmer grumbling

My favorite one was in 2020, I can't remember which episode it was by Xisuma randomly starved to death in one of Mumbo's videos and Mumbo commented "I get that we're trying to lose this quarantine weight but this is ridiculous"

Lowkey kinda get it though- old monster high dolls especially loose their limbs a lot, so buying the dolls second hand might not be complete, but finding the bits of a doll your missing (for a reasonable price) would be amazing - i suppose it would be a bit weird to see if your not a collector though haha

Mumbo, Gem and Grian have power lines running through their bases, maybe you could run that into/through the mountain and connect it to your base to power Willies lights and so on.

It's so like Big Ron to steal electricity from somebody else. At least, it is in my headcanon.

I like the idea that the scientists at the research facility take themselves really seriously as the “mysterious scientist” or “government official” type but the town is so small that everyone knows everyone. The scientists want their real names to not be known and to be simply called “the physicist” or something like that but everyone just constantly greets them like “hey Greg!” or “hey Jeff!” and it gets them really annoyed whenever they have to leave the research facility to buy groceries or something.
My favorite part of THOSE antique shops is every time you think you made it to the back of it but it KEEPS GOING

Maybe he should make this underground part of the shop but since the shop is all messy and cluttered you can’t tell you’ve actually gone underground.
The reason it's overhanging the cliff is because there's a lower floor (or floors) full of more stuff dug into the cliff

exactly! Or with inspiration from another comment, those antique shops always have a dusty attic or basement nobody has been to in the last 5 years, all collecting dust but still filled to the brim with stuff

There is an antique shop in my town that sells:
-an entire shelf of fake books with cutouts for hiding guns
-An entire glass case full of various weapons. Everything from a katana, to a spike all mace, to an old pocket knife from the 40s
-A WHOLE SUIT OF ARMOR
-a little room that says “enter if you dare” covered by a curtain (upon entering the room you are greeted with a floor to ceiling wall to wall pile of beanie babies all positioned to be looking DIRECTLY at you
-a funhouse mirror
-an entire marble statue that is most definitely haunted
-one of those lamps that looks like a leg
-an absolutely absurd amount of neon signs
-a basket of lock picks, next to a basket of locks
-a 12 foot tall stuffed giraffe

Edit: I left out the best part, the store is next to a bridal shop and a cute little restaurant, so in the middle of these 2 sweet little business, you have this glowing neon MONSTROSITY with a 12 foot giraffe and cardboard cutouts of looney tunes characters in the windows. It’s SO FUNNY.
Edit 2:since people are asking where this place is, I will say it’s in Michigan, but not what town. It’s not a large area and I’m not really in the business of doxxing myself, if someone REALLY wants to go, they can figure out where it is by researching.

Since they have the functionality of adding custom sounds to the sound disks in minecraft, I wonder if Mumbo could make ambient sounds, like when you enter a shop the cute bells play like in old shops. He could add ambient noises to the forest, saw sounds, and a low level hum from the communication tower. I think it would add so much life to an already pretty lovely place
That might be better as one of those custom note blocks rather than a jukebox disc.

Scientific Research NEEDS an observatory with a giant telescope
Ok for your "power needs" for your "town"... Gem has a really cool power lines and telephone poles through her base that's also connected-ish to Grians base...
Now imagine this,... all of Magic Mountian should have their builds hooked up to the power line system Gem has setup, then connect it all to a Geothermal Power Plant up near the upcoming Volcano project the group is planning. It would be another thing besides the mountian that would tie everyone's bases together... kind of like how the Neighborhood has pathways and rivers connecting them all.

I love how the joke can only be funny if you know the story😂
If you don't know, Grian sent the first potato to insult Mumbo, but because Etho, Tango, and Pearl hadn't linked him to the postal service at the time, Grian ended up getting in trouble with Pearl over it. Ironically, Grian encouraged Pearl to build Mumbo's postbox in exchange for a stamp permit.

I think you're right that the bank puts it slightly off balance. If the bank was where the farm was (city center which makes worldbuilding sense) the balance would be better. Bit controversial, but I think the farm should be at the bottom level on the left near the river. Farms are located on the outskirts of towns and near water/fertile land, it would also help connect the different levels which you wanted more of, by having a building at the bottom.
This is a good idea that I will think about. I hadn’t considered having builds on the ground level but it definitely makes sense!
As I said previously, there have been extensive studies into the anatomy and neurology of a Structural Chicken™. Therefore, we can rule out the fact that they couldn't hold the structure up. We can also rule out suicide, starvation, and suffocation, as they would be content, do not need to eat, and do not need to breathe. This leaves only one option. Due to the Structural Chickens™ dying shortly after the snails arrived, we can evaluate that the Structural Chickens™ witnessed the snails stealing from whoever they stole from, and thus the snails devised an assassination plot for the said them, and unfortunately succeeded.

I love the type of build-rping Mumbo is doing this season. It reminds me of my own insane paranoid "build"-rping which results in mainly a lot of walls to protect me on my single player creative worlds.
There's just something about Minecraft which makes it perfect for half-delusional role playing. I absolutely love it.

I don't live in a small town (180k is a city, even by American standards, I'd imagine), but we've got a factory that makes explosives.

@@lonelystrategos My town is about 25k and is considered "small" by anyone that doesn't live here. I mean, you can drive anywhere in the town in 10mins or less so, yeah, maybe it is small. We do have one of the best college hockey programs though (GO BULLDOGS!).
I don't think my town has any dedicated scientific research facilities, but pretty much everyone that I know has a house that should probably be considered one. I'm part of a very scientific family. Plus I think the school district should be considered one, there's so much tech everywhere, and we have a set of very active science research classes. I love it here :)
The sheer joy and dopamine hit I got from seeing the colourful outlines for buildings in the thimbnail should probably be studied.

5:52 Mumbo, I hate to break it to you, but you are most definitely an artist! 😂People make it seem like being an artist is like some big thing, but in reality there really aren't that many requirements. You are drawing concept art for your Minecraft builds, designing and illustrating an entire merch line, directing and filming shorts for it; you're a filmmaker, photographer, that's all art! Just having the passion for creating these things and enjoying the process is all you need to be an artist. :]
You're totally an artist mumbo! It may be part of a game and not a traditional art program, but Minecraft is absolutely a valid medium to be creative in. You're placing things in a way that makes them look like something cool, just like pixels in pixel art, strokes of paint on a canvas, or tiny chunks of pencil graphite on a paper
I think it would come under the category of sculpting or 3d modelling.
He also creates youtube videos every week. If minecraft and yt videos don't count for some reason, artsy short films are for sure pretentious enough to be considered "art" xD. Actually crazy Mumbo doesn't consider himself an artist, it's kinda all he does.

If I had a nickel for every time Mumbo mysteriously received a large amount of stolen diamonds on the Hermitcraft server... I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

@@MrRasmio A couple seasons ago Rendog became King of the Hermitcraft server and collected everyone's diamonds. These diamonds were then stolen and Mumbo (who had been taking a break for several months) found them in his base and had no idea where they came from

i love that the cities are built like Skyrim cities. In lore they're pretty big but in-game they're compressed to their most important parts.

10:28 I went to an antique store recently that had a room in the back labelled "The Sunshine Room" which was a little room with yellow walls and the only thing in it was a whole bunch of filing cabinets filled with different types of animal bones
You always take such a creative approach to Minecraft that is totally different than what I see in a majority of Minecraft RUclipsrs, and I’m a really big fan of it. The idea in this season of making a town for your storage system and giving them all backgrounds is such a cool idea with a really well fleshed out execution. I know we still have a long way to go, but thank you for all the work you put in to your gameplay and videos, it’s always a treat.

You're an artist Mumbo! Not only have you literally been making art, but here's the thing: While you're composing your storage town, you're learning composition. Now, you obviously already know some composition due to filmmaking, but adjusting the relativity of things in your build is learning composition in an environment where you're the one /creating/ the lines. You're an artist and minecraft is teaching you art skills :)
Mumbo, The problem you're having with the stock is that you're only filling up one or two chests. You need a hopper system to automatically refill your chests with items so they don't run out so fast
I dont know if anyone else has mentioned this but I love how you're not just sticking to minecraft with your minecraft content. The concept art is wonderful and the worldbuilding through real business cards & ads is such a great idea that im so excited to see! I also loved your video on the pinky shifting, such great editing that i hope to see more of. keep up the good work mumbo!
I have a theory about the structural chickens. The chickens cut the chains themselves so the lower part would fall and then released their friends, as the structure support wasn’t needed anymore!

It’s not going to be a short one, we are all enjoying a long season this time. It’s why I’ve enjoyed pacing myself, as finishing my base in 6 months means a year of bumbling around!
Hermits have said this will be a longer season if you catch their streams, we'll be okay!

It would be even funnier if there was a terrace or something the path lead to around the crops so people wouldn't walk on them, but there was a path going through the plants regardless.

Hi, Mumbo, professional illustrator here! You may not fit the traditional definition of what makes someone an artist, but you absolutely are one. :) Your Minecraft builds, the isometric drawings you use as reference, the business cards and marketing for the fake businesses, the creative ideas for your builds, the effort you put into your videos, etc. These things all make you an artist.
the llama should be given a spot to live in in one of the shops, so it isnt alone down there forever!

I never expected to see Mumbo recreating a scene with Margot Robbie. That truly brought me a smile and a laugh.

Can't wait for Mumbo the find out who is the owner of those Deepslate Diamond Ore Blocks and the relization that he'll have to give back what he has basically "borrowed." That is, once the owner figures out what happening themselves, as they seem to kinda know about it but not quite understand the implications of what is happening yet, lol.
Mumbo won't have to give anything back. He's not the one that stole them and created a shop with them.
All punishment falls on the guilty parties to the original crime, which is a pair of snails.....
@krazzykid1734 Well, according to one hermit (who may or may not have helped/assisted these snails), when the other hermits saw the snails' shop and partook in its available sales, that hermit (in their video) informed the others the source of these ores and that they *all* are now indebted to the ores' original owner and they each needed to return however many ores they took back to said owner.
Not my rules, that's what was said! Otherwise, take it up w/ BDub's courtroom for the hermits to make a decision on it there.
