My gf and i stayed at this PH for 2 weeks a little over a year ago. One thing we enjoyed for a few relaxing nights was the free movies at the movie theater on site.
Will be in Playa Del Carmen tomorrow night, then Cancun. Maybe you will do a video at Hyatt Ziva? Heard many wonderful things about the resort.

Excellent review, thank you for taking the time! We were thinking about Playa del Carmen, but since Xavage is closed, I think we will go for another type of self contained fun in sun place like this. Also the beaches seemed a lot more cleaner than the beaches at Playa del Carmen.
I had to subscribe. I’ve seen a few of your videos, and so far your reviews are excellent. As a person who travels extensively for work and leisure I rely on such reviews to make my choices. I stayed at the Riu in costa Mujeres and when I walk the beach, I pass by Planet Hollywood pretty much every day. Didn’t realize it was such a big resort. Thank you again for this wonderful review.😊

Yo Alan - It was great meeting you and your Mrs and talking with you both over that week. I definitely remember you mentioning that you enjoyed this property and have been multiple times. I was supposed to film this in July but had to postpone until now.
I enjoyed this resort especially the lazy river. The food was great as was the swim out room.
Love your videos! The video on Hard Rock Punta Cana is what made us decide to have our wedding there! Definitely checking for you to see where we want to go for our anniversary!

I Love your videos! Allows me an opportunity to peak in on a resort that I definitely wouldn’t consider -but as an “all inclusive” person -I find it super interesting to live the experience through you. Your review confirms my suspicions: “all that glitters isn’t gold” -kinda an over-the-top tacky place.

The Dominican Republic is beautiful, but some people have attitudes. When I went to Riviera Maya, the people were very nice.

Love your reviews.. Will definitely have to give this place a visit. Not too concerned about being out in the middle of nowhere.. Have been to Mexico so many times and have done all the tours. Just want a place to relax by the pool or by the beach and the adults only area is a big plus for us.
Please go to Xcaret Arte in Playa del Carmen. It will not disappoint at all. The food, the ambience, the entertainment is 100 out of 10 and it includes all the parks.
I enjoy your videos They are well done and cover a wide variety of resorts many that are out of my price range but many that are more affordable We did visit the RIU Republica a few years back and enjoyed it but we tend to like the snaller resorts

I had some really unique drinks here, but all of them were random and solely and completely designed by the bartender at my request. It's not a craft cocktail all inclusive like you perhaps have experienced or seen on my Channel.

Another great video . I’d never stay anywhere like this due to allowing kids but looks impressive . Way too big to visit as a couple , way too many variables .

We went to Royalton Splash in Cancun and it was quite similar vibes as this maybe owned by same company. Royalton splash was awesome and so much fun. Planning to go to PH next.

I’m taking my family in June, it’s between PH and IBEROSTAR. Any suggestions? A lot of reviews hate on the PH.
My girlfriend and I went to PH in Cancun and had an awesome time! I guess for us it was pretty consistent all the way through for us. Service was good, food was okay, drinks were cold and usually pretty dang quick. We stayed in the junior suite with a king bed and upgraded to the adults only wristband and had access to the adults only restaurants (Catch and Braza). With that, we also had access to the adults only side of the beach. All around, for us it was a great time and look forward to going back some time.
How do you upgrade to adult only? Is it a fee?

James, you brought me back. Thank you I needed that. I’m planning 2024 and Mexico for June. You still need to get to Hotel Xcaret. Near the top on my list.
Xcaret Arte is the newer Adults side I highly recommend it, we'll be visiting PH Adult Scene next month.

@@JEHR92 OCEAN FRONT SWIM UP ADULTS @ CASA DE LOS ARTISTAS building has the best views. We've been to a lot of resorts in Quintana Roo and it had the best of all of them altogether. Needless to say, the bar is set pretty high now, we'll see if PH Adult Scene can live up to the hype. You can check out our review here if ya like @hollierobstraveladventures

How far from the Cancun Int'l airport and how would you suggest the transportation to get to the resort?
At the 7 minute area in this video, you are standing at the wall where the Staff have a massive Snake capture dilemma, where the security guy had it pinned against the wall with a broom. I ran down with one of the cleaning ladies large clear boxes, which they managed to coax the snake into. They then moved the creature to a safe area away from the property before releasing it.

@@Coolist I just went to Hyatt Ziva Cancun. It was awesome, best service I've had in Cancun but not a party vibe. Food was good too no waiting for tables. I loved it.
Any water sports for example is it possible to go jet skiing?

I hope it is the new Margaritaville that you're going to next but I hear there is no beach. So maybe both Margaritavilles? I stayed at the Riviera Cancun location and although the beach was lackluster, we arrived the day after a hurricane. But the service and all the food was perfect and enough bars and restaurants for a resort with less than 150 suites.
No beach isn't a dealbreaker for me. I won't be heading that direction this trip though
I was just there last week also, and although the resort was really nice, the service was terrible. the butlers promised stuff but then didn't communicate tot he other butlers or departments. was quite disappointing. you are lucky that you got your food so quick at East. we were sat at 8 pm, other tables sat at the same time, they had food, drinks and were finished and gone before we even got appys. the Indian place was the best of the bunch tho.
I really wanted to try the Indian Place but just couldn't get over there. In retrospect, I should've swapped it with the steakhouse on my third night.
we did 8 nights and I let the kids choose the last night and they asked for round two at the Indian. Ill have to check out more or your videos as I take the kids on a holiday every year instead of buying them xmas and birthday gifts. So far we have tried Dreams Playa mujares, Barcelo Maya Caribe and now PH. Looking at maybe a RIU or Iberostar@@Coolist

I just came back from PH and it was good. Wasn't much of a fan of the drinks, they were watered down, the spot to eat was Brasa Brazilian steakhouse for dinner and breakfast. The main buffet was great also. The beach was surprisingly great, clear water and they take care of the seaweed in the mornings.
I have stayed at over 20 resorts; I saw your page as I was looking into Breathless and ran across this by mistake, I stayed at Planet Hollywood for a wedding, a huge party that you would think would have 50 different opinions, not the case 48 of those were horrible resort would never come back including mine and the bride and groom. Food options and wait at restaurants are beyond evil; restaurants are not open until 5pm other than a few, service was terrible at all spots, the resort was not well taken care of, public restrooms were not touched by employees, it is the 1st place I have gave a bad review on Trip Advisor, yes I have been to some non 4 stars but do not want to hurt a business, they way we were treated and the price, I had to warn others. I was offered an upgrade to come back, and I wouldn't come back unless it was free it was that bad. Places in Cancun I do love Valentin Imperial, Grande Fiesta Americno , El Cid Resort

When you landed in Cancun how far away from the airport was this resort?
40-60 mins depending on traffic

I did not experience that whatsoever, but I have at other properties in the past. Both the parents and property should be stricter in scenarios like that.

WOW: I was NOT expecting that for a room from Planet Hollywood in Cancun. I was truly impressed! Definitely one of my favorite rooms I've seen on the channel to date! 😇
I'll be honest: I was skeptical about Planet Hollywood much the same way as I am about Hard Rock and just readily assumed, as a brand, it had the same core drawbacks in that 1) it's too clinical and lacks soul, 2) it's too "mom" and "dad" interpretations of a good time, and 3) it's too "copy" and "paste" between resorts in their portfolio. But if this review is any indicator.............I do feel Planet Hollywood speaks to me more than Hard Rock. I DO feel it IS still kind of clinical and there likely IS a bit of copypasta between this and their other resorts I imagine..............BUT the crowd and energy at least at this Cancun location DOES feel more natural and contagious. Whereas with pretty much ANY Hard Rock review I've seen thus far, their crowds at least to me seem perfunctory/contrived.
Can't wait to see which location of theirs you hit up next. I'm going to go off on a wild limb and predict it's their Goa location. I know the safe bet is on Costa Rica, but I like to live dangerously, hahahahaha! 😂😊
I forget how many HR's ive been too. At least 3 on the channel and way more personally. I can't recall a location where the vibe legitimately felt like a naturally comfortable place to stay. Too synthetic... This PH was ironically quite the comfortable property to stay and roam.
@@Coolist And I do genuinely like Planet Hollywood in Vegas, and I feel strangely comfortable in there despite the really hip, modern lighting and the buzzy Miracle Mile Shops adjacent to it. I just wouldn't have expected that same sort of feeling to be successfully replicated in a tropical paradise too. I just think that's really cool. 😊

whats crazy, is the google reviews are 3.6. and Hard Rock is 4.7. But this hotel looks nicer and more night life.

Went there last year. Going again this year. You hit pretty much everything on the head. Food is just ok. Buffet is good. The Italian place had a better steak than the steakhouse. Sports bar had good chicken wings. We were star class and only saw our butler 2x once at check in once when waiting for airport pick up.
Saying all of those. The value and modern chic brings us back with our 5 year old son. Knowing the things from last years trip we will have a great vacation
