  • A visit to the 2' gauge Lynton and Barnstaple Railway. 4-4-0T 2819 'Sir George Newnes' was in use, having returned to service after overhaul just one week earlier. The train is seen at Woody Bay and Killington Lane stations.

    How wide are the ties?
How wide is the rolling stock?

The coaches are six feet wide. I'm not sure how long the sleepers (ties) are, but they look to be between four and five feet long. The railway has recently gone over from using timber sleepers to ones made from recycled plastic.
